Since this location opened in Gainesville, I have been generally happy. However recently, the service has become deplorable. On more than one occasion over the past month or two, I have waited more than 15 minutes for an order. Generally, this has occurred when they were busy during lunch rush, so I can kind of understand. Today, there was absolutely no excuse for these kind of wait times. My family and I decided to stop by at 10:40 this morning. We placed and paid for our order at 10:49(time printed at top of receipt). About 15 minutes later, the order was ready. My wife’s order was correct, but my daughter’s and mine were completely wrong. We brought the wrong food back to the counter, they said to keep it, and they would make us our correct order. Another ten minutes or so went by, and the food was not ready. My wife asked them again, the girl behind the counter said she would check into it and said something to the cook. Another ten minutes(at this point I had already walked to McDonald’s next door and ordered a couple of 1.00 cheeseburgers, got them, and walked back), and my wife was at the counter asking again. I went to the car with my daughter, we enjoyed our $ 1.00 cheeseburgers from McDonalds, and my wife was still inside dealing trying to get our first order of food. Finally at 11:28, my wife gave up and left. Now, if they were really busy I could understand. But, when we ordered our food we were the ONLYONES in the restaurant at the time. On top of that, the food we were waiting on were three BACONRANCHWRAPS! Bacon Ranch Wraps are not complicated to make. Bacon, Ranch, Cheese, and Lettuce on a tortilla. I make these things at home, including cooking the bacon, in less time than it took for them not to deliver my food! I like Cookout’s food, but the service at this location is beyond horrible. If there is a manager working, he/she needs to be instructed that when the cook is in the weeds, something needs to be done. I will not go back to this location. I will continue to visit the Oakwood location, but much less frequently since it is not convenient for me. Get your act together in Gainesville, and I may become a patron of this location again, but as for right now, McDonalds has better service than this place.

Service was horrible. Got our burgers and had to literally rearrange toppings while driving. Order was wrong. Had to ask for forgotten items. And no napkins in the bag or straw. Now to the food… disgusting.

I gotta say. Dang good! This is my first cookout experience. I love they are open late so I can drive through after a long shift working in ER. Food is hot and yummy. Not healthy but dang good and greasy! Mmmmm I gotta try a shake next time!

The good thing about Cookout and why I have eaten at them a few times is because you can order the tray and you get to choose a bunch of different items for $ 4.99. They have about six or seven different entrée items to choose from. I tend to get the cajun chicken sandwich which comes with cajun seasoning, a bit of sauce, mayo, lettuce and tomato on a hamburger bun. Then, you get to choose two sides. They have a ton of choices to choose from this as well such as chili, coleslaw, fries(you can have them add cajun seasoning to your fries to make them better too), okra, onion rings and a couple of others. You can either choose two items or double up on one item. This time I chose cajun fries and a bacon ranch wrap. The fries are always crispy and full of flavor. The chicken sandwich is good as well. It is grilled so you know the meat is the real deal unlike some other fast food places. Then, you get either a very large sweet tea, a large coke product or for a small upcharge a milkshake. All of that food for $ 4.99 and the quality is actually good. I am always a fan of getting a good deal. The employees seem to always be helpful since the menu is so large and I am sure people usually have a ton of questions. Once you order they call your number and the food is always in a to go container. That makes it easy if you want it to go or if you want to eat there it is easy to clean up and throw away the trash once you are finished. I still have yet to try a milkshake even though they have over 40 flavors or something crazy like that. I have yet to try most things on the menu yet too. For fast food, I am a fan.

This is probably one of the best Cook-Out location I have ever been too. The service was amazing and super fast for the amount of food we got. Nicole was extremely helpful considering my bf hadn’t ever been to a Cook-Out before and she helped go through menu items. She smiled and laughed and in a business it shows proper etiquette when dealing with customers. You can tell the employees love their jobs and the atmosphere is extremely family friendly. One of the employees informed me it was a Christian run business and that’s why they played a lot of Christian music. Later, I was craving a cherry Coke. And even though, it wasn’t on the menu a really sweet girl, Emerald, offered to make one for me no questions asked. She was just another helpful and nice employee. The food like I said was perfect and so filling. But I was way more impressed with the staff. I highly Recommend dining in if the opportunity was there just to meet the staff. Tony the manager, later came to ask if there was anything they could do better. Which, I let him know the service was perfect but that I was more impressed with his staff. This place deserves more than 5 stars but 100% satisfied.

I highly recommend the Cook Out! It doesn’t matter what you order, burger, corndog, chicken wrap, bbq it is all fantastic! And of course the milkshakes are amazing. Everything is always hot and fresh. The service is always very fast and friendly. I have shown this place to friends and family and no one has ever been dissapointed. And best of all its cheap! Everyone should try this restaurant!

A good home style burger and shakes. A must stop when I’m in town. I think I put on weight by eating here a few times while in town. A shake is a must have here, I swear it weighs a couple pounds. Real food fast.

It was a chain hamburger and hot dog with chili. It would be hard to give it five stars and I don’t like doing hard stuff so I only gave it four stars. That being said, as far as a chain burger place goes, it was very clean, staff was friendly, and the burger and hot dogs were delish. Next time I’ll go with the double burger so I can double my enjoyment. And because I’m fat.

Not bad. Ordered and they got the toppings on the burger wrong. There was a bit of a language gap at the counter. It was what it was. The burger was a bit to well done and there was no juice in it. It tasted like a backyard grilled burger though. The prices are quite low to be honest so the fact it wasn’t the greatest on that day would not deter me from trying it again. Large menu with lots of tasty looking items. Burger, fries and a coke for less than 5 dollars is not too shabby. If I go back and things are better … I will happily upgrade the review.

You get a lot of food for a great value but by no means is the food 5 star quality.

I pulled into Cookout after hearing good things about their food. I had the regular burger with ketchup, mustard, and lettuce. The burger was cooked perfectly. Drive thru was backed up, but for good reason. They have a lot of parking that extends down the hill behind the building. The peanut butter fudge shake I ordered was unbelievable !! Yummm

First visit far exceeded my expectations. Place was recommended by a coworker. Food was great, service was quick and friendly and final cost was inexpensive. The chocolate chip mint shake was very thick, you’ll need a spoon. Mexi style dog had just the right amount of kick and the burger was perfectly cooked.

Nice fast food alternative. Quality and portion sizes are good. Burger really tastes like one you’d BBQ at home. Shakes are fresh and awesome. I tried the Cookout Style for my first visit.

So glad Gainesville finally gets a Cookout! This one compares very well to others I’ve visited. The food is very tasty. Even though it is fast food, it doesn’t have the«mass produced» taste and feel of those large chains. Menu selection is excellent, still trying to work my way through all the items. And, do not forget to have a shake. They are awesome. Was in at a busy time, but order was quickly taken and food was quickly ready. Only complaint is lack of parking, but I’ll just deal with that.

Pros — Food was incredible! Had a regular burger with everything on it. I was surprised to see how«homemade» the burger looked! It was kinda messy to eye but to the tongue was a different story! Fries were cooked perfectly and were thick. The staff were fast and courteous. Husband loves the hush puppies! Cons — parking is horrible. Trying to get into the parking lot off the street is even worse.

Stopped by this place to grab some comfort food for a gf and me. I was disappointed that I didn’t see the foot long dogs. Maybe it’s only at larger locations… Anywaysss… The mexi hot dog and bacon cheddar hot dog were both pretty good. The mexi dog would be my rec out of the two. The bacon cheddar one was good too since it was loaded with lots of bacon, but it was a tad salty imo since I’m not a bacon fan. The chicken nuggets were good, but they were sort of small. They were like a fusion of a Wendy’s white meat and McDonald’s crispy(only slightly) nugget. The cappuccino milkshake was pretty good and tasted creamy, not too icy or artificial. There were about 20 flavors to choose from so choose happily. Parking was extremely limited with about 10 spots or so(?). This is def a to-go joint. Even the inside seemed to be packed. The hype about this place needs to die down soon.
