Found this gem on accident. Well not really — I used my Unilocal app. I needed a quick bite to eat,(preferably a healthy bite), that was close to my kickball game.(That’s a whole different review) Daily Green was conveniently located minutes from the field. I got there and they were closing in 15 min and I felt bad about getting there right at quitting time so I asked for something quick. I was told, in true hippie fashion, «chill…it’s all good,» and to take my time and order something I’ll be happy with. And to add gluten free icing on the vegan cake — they told me to dine in if I preferred. I am HUGE with customer service — it’s everything to me — so they had a new fan before I even ate my food. Oh yeah, the actual food — delicious by the way. I got the big burrito — legumes, carrots, cheese, and some vegetation. It was great and reasonably priced and very filling. Came with my choice of a side — kale chips… not as good as my homemade chips, so I won’t order those again. They also have beer. Didn’t mind if I did, thank you. I had a great experience. Friendly hippie folks. Good food. Cheap. And now I’m ready to go kick some balls! I’ll be back!

Daily Greens is vegetarian and vegan friendly. It is one of my favorites to go to and to bring others while in Gainesville. It is a phenomenal little hole in the wall restaurant on the south side of downtown Gainesville. I like everything I have tried here. The waffle cones are flavorful and very filling, which is why they dont come with a side. The sandwiches are equally delicious. All of the side items are great but my favorite it the kale chips or the fried tomatoes. This is a healthy place to eat out. Everything they serve is fresh. The only complaint I have is the limited seating but it’s not a big deal considering everything else this great local spot has to offer. We need more restaurants like this one in the world!

It’s been about two years since I first reviewed Daily Green, so I think it’s time for an update. To say I love Daily Green is an understatement, seriously. I’ve given them five stars, but if I could, I’d give them way more! They have something for everyone –vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, gluten free, picky toddler? They have you covered! The food is not only healthy and fresh, it’s damn delicious. I’m pretty sure I’ve sampled every vegan option on their menu. Fresh pressed juices, luxuriously delicious sweet waffles, sandwiches and tacos –it’s all good, really really really good! If you like tempeh and tacos, make sure you go on Thursdays for the taco special. They’ll blow your mind and your tastebuds will thank you. Even my husband, hater of tempeh, loves those things! The owners and employees are great people. They are happy to answer any questions and give suggestions on what to order. They make your food fresh to order and you can tell it’s made with love! If you’re into food photography, these dishes come out superbly photo worthy! With the great food and their great natural lighting, you best be snapping a photo before your first bite! If you’re dining in, make sure to bus your own table when you’re finished. They save all scraps for the pigs at Siembra farm, so make sure to scrape your plate! How cool is that? I think it’s pretty rad. Great food, great people, great vibe. Those are the reasons why I spend so much time at Daily Green!

Yummy!!! I would be eating here all the time if I lived in Gainesville. Huge selection, fast service, friendly staff. My food was great. I tried the vegan burger and a green tomato sandwich on sourdough. Both were killer. Kale salad was delicious but I really wanted to try the kale chips, but they were out I will be back next time I am in Gainesville!

We’re still going to Daily Green and really appreciate what they are trying to do. So, nothing I’m about to say will keep us from going back. We went in for brunch. I ordered the croissant sandwich(MINUS the hollandaise) with waffled potatoes. Note: They weren’t as busy as they sometimes can be, but we waited a pretty long time. When the girl called my name to give me my food, she realized that they had mistakenly included the hollandaise and asked if I wanted them to re-make it. Ummm… yes. I would like what I ordered, please. Then, after another bit of a wait, the food came and, only then, I realized that they gave me grits instead of the potatoes. I again told them it was wrong and thought they might offer to get me the potatoes. But, nobody did, so my husband and I just ate the grits. Maybe there was someone new in the kitchen? But, this place makes a big deal out of making adjustments to meals, based on personal dietary needs/preferences. I think they should know that if I ask for no hollandaise, there’s probably a reason. And, well, the potato thing… that’s just a screw up.

Worst pancake ever. When they served me the pancake I froze in shock at the pathetic looking pancake on the plate in front of me. It was a $ 9 tiny thin piece of fried nothing that I waited 40 minutes for. I wish I took a picture of it to post. Also very disappointed at the customer service. Anyway, definitely won’t be back.

I LOVE Daily Green! Super vegetarian/vegan friendly yet also serving plenty to please the meat-eater, this restaurant exists in an old building that they renovated. The inside is small(so get there early to get a seat!) but comfortable and the staff is very friendly and patient(for those of us who can never decide what they want!). There is plenty of parking in the lot or on the street. They feature a regular menu plus a specials board that always has something new and exciting on it. I was impressed with the creativity yet simplicity of the menu. The food is so delicious and fresh, and you get a lot of it. I was very full and could barely finish my walnut lentil burger and broccoli side! But that’s OK, because what you don’t finish either gets composted or made into grub to serve to the pigs at the local Siembra farm! I loved this and think it’s such a great way to reuse food waste. Nearly everything there is recycle or reused rather than thrown away. It makes you feel good about eating there. They are closed Monday and Tuesday, but they do offer weekend brunch(though I haven’t tried that yet).

Yummy and fresh! This place is so spot on every time. Today I had the raw nachos with a kumquat gingerade. Salad was crisp and filling and the juice was spicy and tart. My parents have been raving about this spot for a while now, and I hear they always have a line out the door. Good on ‘em! Can’t wait to go back and eat some more. Oh and get the raw brownie, you won’t be disappointed.

Really good food. Has a lot of really good vegan options. The cones are are all really good I’ve had the tempeh and sauerkraut. The broccoli slaw is the best thing on the menu.

Well it was delicious food. I went with my sister and my mother while passing through Gainesville which, tbh, is not my favorite town. Lots of hipsters, both in Gainesville and in this restaurant Pros: I got the Sammie which is a grilled cheese sandwich and came with some cheese grits so that was a lot of cheese and I got a juice. They were really good and filling. They also recycle everything and give scrap food to pigs which is cool. They also serve bacon here so it makes me wonder if that’s the sane pigs. Cons: My sister and mom also got an entrée and a juice and it totaled to over 60 $ which was a bit pricey for brunch imo. The woman at the counter told me they were out of gritlets which came with the entrée I wanted. Then the ladies behind me ordered the entrée I wanted and they gave it to them. Which was kinda rude. But they were much more hip looking than I am so maybe that was it.

Great find! On business and this place was perfect to pickup dinner on the way to the airport. Easy parking too. The savory vegan waffle cone with walnut lentil burger(I added pickles) was delicious! I also got a garden salad with the tahini nooch dressing(yum). Wish they’d been open Monday and Tuesday!

The food here simply, is great. I like the location, though it’s hard to find the first time. Easy parking, never a huge wait. There isn’t really anywhere else to get great raw food in Gainesville. As I’m from a place with tons, it’s essential to life. I really wish I could give them more stars. The staff has been pretty sweet and caring every time I’ve come in. But that’s only been twice. I have a few food issues– I’m a vegan, and I’m severely soy intolerant. I was really hopeful this would be a place I could consider a haven. The employees really care, one woman asked a lot of questions to other staff, checked recipes-all out. But by the time I got home I was incredibly sick and knew it was soy. I’m giving them 4 stars because I really think that they care, and I seriously enjoy the food. But that there’s some lack of communication there somewhere. As a place that seems like it caters to weird pain in the ass people like me, I was bummed. I hope to try again sometime.

Daily Green went in where Louis’ Lunch was for years and thus kept what was long a Gainesville institution at least alive as a restaurant. The interior is very homey, bright, cheerful and welcoming and the staff are the same: really friendly and outgoing people. Unlike some reviewers, I had no issues with the wait time for food to come out of the kitchen once my order was placed, but I was there later in the afternoon so maybe since they were not busy that helped matters. I had the tarragon chicken salad and a smoothie – I believe it was called their«dynamic» smoothie. Both were very good, very fresh, but probably overpriced. I realize using locally-sourced and organic ingredients drives up the price, but $ 11 for the salad seemed steep considering it was basically a ball of chicken salad atop lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other veggies plus the dressing. It was maybe enough for lunch if you weren’t a hearty eater, but not quite enough for me. The quality however was spot-on and the smoothie was the same way, but $ 7 for a small 12oz. smoothie seemed high. You get about twice as much for the same price at Tropical Smoothie and while yes, they are a chain, Tropical uses fresh fruit at least, too. I’m not normally one to complain about price, but point being, you can easily spend with tip $ 20 on lunch here – or more. And still, you may be hungry. However, if you want fresh and healthy food, it may be worth it: there is no doubt all the ingredients in the salad tasted fully fresh. The desserts looked really good also though I didn’t have any because honestly, I was still hungry and went to Crane Ramen to get more food – which probably sounds awful but fear not, if you look at my pics on here it’s clear I’m not as round as a gourd. I will come back to Daily Green and I will recommend them, but understand you’re looking at the stereotypical vegan/healthy type of place that serves moderate portions at best at prices that may cause some folks to balk at them for a lunch option. As they close by seven, they’re not really geared towards dinner, either, but they do offer many breakfast options including some waffles that sound just amazing.

Tempeh Reuben, Tempeh Reuben, Tempeh Reuben. All day everyday, this is my favorite sandwich in Gainesville. The vegan one, of course(I’ll take avocado over swiss any day). I’ll usually get their soup as a side, or a side salad with yeaster dressing, so as to dip the sandwich in the dressing. Gainesville doesn’t have any other organic restaurants downtown. Let me emphasize that, for everyone who thinks that featuring a couple locally sourced ingredients in your house salad counts as being an organic or locally sourced restaurant. If you want to eat truly organic food, with a large portion of ingredients sourced from local farms(shout out to Siembra Farm woo!) then Daily Green is your best(only) choice. They use bread from the Vine, Tempeh from the Tempeh Shop, veggies from Siembra, serve Wellspring Kombucha, and lots of other local goodies. It’s not gimmicky, it’s not buzzwordy(local! Organic! Kale chips!) it’s just what the owners and Chef believe in, and have around them to work with. They get my respect for that.

Daily Green was one of the best restaurants for my husband and I, especially being pure vegetarians. This restaurant is a haven for vegetarians and vegans, and uses only organic ingredients(even the ketchup here is organic — without HIGHFRUCTOSECORNSYRUP!). We stopped by this restaurant on our way back from Tampa Bay to Atlanta after looking through Unilocal based on reviews, and this place did not disappoint! It is definitely worth the 15 minute detour off of I-75, and I highly recommend going here if you are passing through Gainesville, Fl(or of course if you live here too!). All the dishes that we tried were amazing, and it was hard to tell that this food was vegan! The staff are extremely friendly and feels like a small family run restaurant. I had actually left my wrist watch on the counter and didn’t realize this until returning to Atlanta. I quickly contacted Daily Green, and they informed me the staff had kept it safely. They promptly shipped it to me without any hesitation. The drinking water(free, by the way) is infused with cucumber and lime, and even this is very delicious and refreshing. I know I am going to visit the Daily Green every time I pass through Gainesville!

I feel rough giving a 2 star review, so I think I will come back another time and hopefully I will have a better experience then. As so many people have previously mentioned, service is slow, painfully slow. My BRAT sandwich took 20 – 25 mins. Which for a cold meal never bodes well. It also doesn’t help that they forgot the ‘T’omato in my BRA– sandwich. I love the concept though, especially with the connection to the CSA. If prices were more affordable, and service/quality was a little higher, I could easily see myself trying everything on the menu. Kale chips were meh, They were a little too salty for me, so I’ll probably just make my own tonight(its super easy, de-stalk the kale, and put it in the oven at a low temperature until they are crispy, salt and add olive oil as desire)

Since my brief month of a stay in Gainesville I’ve yet to come across any eatery quite like Daily Greens. While my home cities contain vegan and vegetarian places, I really can’t say they’re as memorable as Daily Greens just leaks color in it’s menu choices, and that freshness and vibrancy kept me in. The eats// The heavy sprouts sandwich was my go to. The Bonafide Brat seemed to be a crowd favorite since I kept dragging people here and also enjoyed the tangy flavors of a sundried tomato sandwich. Didn’t get to try any of the waffle cones as they were the sandwiches tucked within a crispy shell and I was mostly just interested in the sandwiches. Novel idea and would like to try it if I’m ever back. The consistency in ingredients does change what seems almost day to day. or every other day. I didn’t have a problem with that, but it was noteworthy in case you find a favorite. It’s consistently fresh though! :P The variety keeps things interesting anyway. Very much enjoyed the specialty teas and the smoothies weren’t bad. :) My only complaint is sometimes the teas could get pulpy or concentrated pending on how much was left in the container. Otherwise, good stuff. The Staff// Very helpful and willing to elaborate the menu to my inquisitive half-sister. While helpful, a little spacey. Could forget your drink or not ring it up at all. Not a big deal just let ‘em know. :) There’s also free water in back. The Space// Bright and inviting inside and a tad off putting outside even with the homely porch. It’s hidden in an industrial part of the city. The food gives it 5 stars from me, and hopefully this veggie haven will still be there if I ever make way back.
