We love Mexican food, but this Place is very mediocre. Tonight we ordered the chicken burrito & enchilada with rice/Redford beans. They drowned the food with sauce which is never a good sign. I also like the option to have pinto/black beans which they refused. The service was good, but overall their are plenty of better Mexican restaurant choices.

El Sombrero El Sombrero is always good. They usually have good service and the prices are reasonable. Great place for lunch — and they have so many locations here in north Georgia. I recommend — especially the chili relano(sp?)

There are several of these in the Hall Country area, and I’ve visited the Gainesville, Oakwood, and Flowery Branch ones. Meh, indeed. The fajita meat is always stringy and tough, salsa watery, and chips are hit-or-miss. Disagree with previous reviewer, this is NOT the place to go in Oakwood. Go to La Parilla down the street. The Flowery Branch one is the best of the 3 I have visited, but is still very low on my list of dining establishments.

El Sombrero has an interesting mix of clientelle and workers. The actual food was alright, standard fare for mexican, but the chips were stale and the salsa had a «funky» flavor. If you’re hurting for Mexican and you’re in Oakwood, then I suppose this will be the place you go. The prices during lunch are good and as stated the food is good. I was a little put off by the chips and salsa considering that those are 2 out of the 3 reasons I go to Mexican. … What’s the third? Did someone say, Margarita!!!
