They were the only ones in town who had the materials needed for architecture class. They didn’t have all the materials they said they would. They didn’t deliver the materials when they said they would. Finally they«replaced» the professional materials they promised with lower quality alternatives and did not adjust the price accordingly. Disappointed in their lackluster service. They seem to be used to young naïve students who don’t know any better. The guy was nice, but that’s not enough.

I went by Magnum Wood tonight to get a few things – a lead holder(which is a fancy architectural term for a pencil for drafting) and some tracing paper – and wish to attest they’re just as awesome as when I first set foot in their establishment back in September of 2009. They’ve expanded their custom fabrication services with an emphasis on not only wood but also Plexiglass and large-scale fabrication of interior furnishings. If you’ve been in any of the local Mochi restaurant locations, Magnum did the really cool, futuristic booths, counters, and wall constructions. Run by an architect and UF architecture students, they carry all manner of supplies needed for making architectural models and also for drawing and art classes(pencils, Rapidograph technical pens, various fine papers, drafting tools). I can seriously think of no complaints about Magnum, although I wish their selection of traditional drafting tools was larger, I cannot fault them on that because I know only a handful of people would buy these if they carried more than they do since most drafting is done on computers now. Gainesville and UF are very very fortunate to have a drafting/art/design source like Magnum.
