Get in, get out. Find whatever you need. They have a good selection of fresh fruits, veggies, and healthy foods. Seafood is also abundant here. Grab a pound or two of crab legs and have them steam them for you for free. It’s so simple but oh so good with some melted butter. Otherwise, they have your typical selection of red and white meats. They sometimes run BOGO and B2G1 deals on some of the more popular items. Keep an eye on those deals. The layout of Publix is much more attractive than Wal-Mart. Everything is easy to find with aisles properly categorized.

PAY. PAY, PAY! Yes it’s clean, but the prices are the highest unless you get the BOGO’s. There are many other shops in gainesville that have better quality and lower prices!

There was a time when publix was the king of the hill. Much like the Mike Judge show, the time has passed and Publix is simply there. 2 star with the«Meh. I’ve experienced better» is perfect to describe this supermarket. You know what is better? Publix 5 years ago. Maybe it’s the lack of competition… because when Publix was battling Winn-Dixie and Albertson’s it was the crème de la crème. They were clean, lean, shopping machines with amazing prices, super clean aisles and great service. Now? There’s no competition so it seems like they just let it go. They stopped showering, combing their hair, etc. The prices aren’t anything special, the service is never more than adequate(at best), and the selection is thinning out like my hairline. I miss Publix of the 90’s. Back when they cared enough to earn your business. Now they’re just the only game in town.

My complaint is their prices. VERY high. Unnecessarily high. In Gainesville, however, it’s their playing field. Publix is(with a few peripheral exceptions) a monopoly here. And watch out for their BOGO«specials»; they play a predatory game. I shop elsewhere.

I can’t stand Publix. Almost every time I go there I leave angry, because either 1) They are out of something I need 2) They have some produce I need but it looks wilted and gross or 3) I paid more than I should have. While the store is well maintained, the selection is not great at all. Take cheese, for example. They do not have a good selection of higher quality cheeses, and what they do have is grossly overpriced. The little liquor store Dorn’s has a cheese section that completely blows Publix out of the water. There is also no olive bar, which has become a standard feature at nicer supermarkets. Finally, the prices. Pay attention to the 2 for 1 deals: some of those can be a genuinely good buy. But other than that all prices are high, and it’s not too surprising. Why? Because Publix has become a local monopoly in this town. There are many parts of Gainesville where there is no non-Publix supermarket for miles, because they have bought up all the competition. What a great way to run a business. I dream of the day a Wegmans or Harris Teeter comes to town and breaks the stranglehold Publix has on our little berg. Until then, there isn’t much choice. I drive to Wards as much as feasible, but it’s seriously out of my way.

I love Publix! If they ever made«I Heart Publix» shirts-I would be one of those girls wearing it around town. There is not another supermarket like it. Publix actually had a small influence on my decision to go to college in Atlanta(there is one about 2 miles from campus). They are always clean and well-stocked and the people are usually very nice. I can’t rave about Publix enough :)

When we moved to Brooklyn a few months ago, I missed Publix terribly. Publix stores are super clean and they pay attention to detail with marketing and presentation of their items. Now that we are back in Florida, it is great to be home. Just their baked goods, prepared foods, and subs alone keep me coming back. Their produce is excellent when buying seasonal and you can get some deals as well. I come here specifically for their Asparagus, Fuji Apples, and pre-packaged lettuce. The Target on Archer Road is expanding into a Super Target in March, which is going to give them a huge hit on their frozen food items and dry goods. But, the Publix produce, deli, meat department, and bakery will still represent.

Brightly lit, clean and pristine, helpful staff, decent prices with BOGO sales on a lot of what I buy. Coming from NYC, going to Publix is like a near death experience. Walk into the light… where shopping is a pleasure.

I’m in love with my new Publix. Sure it’s not the Super Publix where the old Albertson’s was, but it’s only 5 minutes from our new house. The products are typical. The pricing is decent and I love the BOGO section out front. What makes Publix amazing is the customer service. On Friday night at 9:30 my boyfriend decides he wants steaks. Ribeye steaks(bone-in). So I drive out to the Publix and find they only have one ribeye left. The butcher guy noticed my dismay and asked if I needed some help. When I explained my need for TWO Ribeyes he offered to take a 3 pound Ribeye roast and cut it in half for me and give it to me for the Ribeye roast price of $ 5.99 per pound instead of the Ribeye price of $ 7.99 per pound. I was thrilled. I then needed to pick up some bread crumbs but couldn’t remember what aisle in which they were located. I found a stock-boy and asked him. He not only told me which aisle, but insisted on escorting me there. Finally in check out, I only had a few items. The girl bagging my stuff finished quickly and suggested I have a nice day. I was surprised because I was still paying and they usually don’t say that until you’re leaving. The reason she was so quick was because she noticed an elderly lady and wanted to help her place her items on the conveyor belt. Wow. I LOVE my new Publix.

Now that I moved from FL, I realize how much I miss Publix. Good products, good prices(sometimes). But I dont mind paying extra for the quality and customer service. Super helpful staff.

The one thing you can depend on publix for is nice people. They are always very helpful unlike Winn Dixie or other barely surviving foodstores that never learned that customer service goes along way. We like their publix brand items. Always on the higher side of generic and usually always the same or better than the same brand item. They do have very good sales. Pricing on items can be on the high side, so compare against other stores.
