Reitz Union

After the ribbon-​cutting for the new renovation, the Reitz reclaimed its title as the «Queen Building «on campus. With new features, such as the Social Stairs, Reflection Room, Dance Studios, and Wing Zone, the Reitz continues to be a haven for college students to connect and collaborate. Having that said, there are still some qualms with the new Reitz Union. The new renovated area seems highly disconnected to the old Reitz Union because of the over all appearance: tile colors, cleanliness, and even smell. This inconsistency can be disorientating when exploring the Reitz because of the juxtaposition of the new and old spaces. Furthermore, though the Game Room has updated pool and ping-​pong tables with disco lighting, there isn’t much of an upgrade to be found. However, the Reitz provides students with a necessary space to inspire each other and fulfill everyday activities, making it a central building on campus.
