CLOSED. :( As a TCBY addict, I loved the service and consistently good yogurt at this location. So I was very sad to see that it has apparently closed permanently as of December 30, 2015. I really, really hope it reopens, either with a new owner or in another location, because I would drive an hour from out of town to stock up on their delicious froyo, and now, I’m stuck with the one on Old St. Augustine Road in Jacksonville, and their golden vanilla is consistently bad, for some reason. Wahhh! Come back, Thornebrook TCBY!

There are now so many Frozen Yogurt places to choose from that it’s easy to forget about TCBY hiding out in Thornebrooke Village. It may not have the fun factor of other frozen yogurt places(no neon lights, few toppings, no do-it-yourself creating), but the quality of the yogurt far exceeds its competition in town. This is good creamy yogurt that isn’t too heavy and isn’t too icy. They have both soft and hard serve selections, along with a modest amount of toppings. Throughout the week they have various specials, and coupons are available on their website if you’re looking to save a buck. If your kids want the a little variety in their flavors, spring for a parfait so they can choose a few different flavors and toppings. One of the big perks of TCBY, for me as a germaphobe, is that unlike all those other fro-yo places, kids(and some adults…) can’t stick their fingers in all the topping containers and mess with the yogurt machines. Everything is behind the counter and under wraps, and it suits me just fine. It helps that they serve a quality product here too.

Really good frozen yogurt… doesn’t even really taste like yogurt, unlike some of the other options around here. They have a lot of toppings to choose from, and the store is very bright and clean. My son loves this place… even more than mochi!

There is only one reason that I still visit this chain; the five layer parfait and the white chocolate mousse yogurt. Even with the self-service(by the ounce) froyo craze, it is still more economical to buy one of their highly addictive parfaits. And, each store has different promotions for a day of the week. I believe that at this location on Wednesdays it is $ 1 off the parfait to make it even cheaper, but you might want to call and make sure. I have trouble leaving self-service yogurt shops spending less than $ 8 on a tiny cup. But, at TCBY, I spend at least half of that for something much better. This is my favorite location because I think that Thornbrooke Village is adorable. The customers that come here are also very nice local families that live in the neighborhood.
