Nice venue. Great architecture not sure about pricing for events since I have only attended than and have not booked them for a function. Grounds are nice but pictures can be problematic due to visitors photo bombing them… unintentionally in most cases. Nice place.

What the Thomas Center lacks in amenities, it makes up for with ambiance. The grounds are impeccable and a great place for photos. The interior is charming and definitely brings you back to the past. However, if you’re looking to hold a wedding reception here and plan on inviting more than 100 people, then you should look elsewhere. The main hall will not be able to accommodate your party. And if you’re looking to provide a free cocktail hour to your guests, then try to plan your wedding during one of the cooler months. Why? Because the cocktail reception area is outdoors. History revealed…

This is a beautiful location in Gainesville that has some great history. It is free to enter and they always have some great local fine art exhibits, most of them are juried. There is artwork in the gallery as well as the upstairs balcony. I spent most of my childhood here because of this, since my mother is an artist. Plus, I have been to weddings here, receptions, gallery openings, and even had my own opera recitals here in the main hall. Which is great for music because of their acoustics and the marble floors. During any of the downtown festivals and art shows, this is also a great place to walk over to for some AC and to use the bathroom. I believe there is also a basement gallery that is opened during special events. I recommend parking here and also just walking around the neighborhood because there are some of the best houses and architecture in Gainesville in this area.

What an amazing space in Gainesville. I can’t believe in the 4 years that I lived there, I never visited it. Fast forward 7 years, I attended a wedding here. No need to spend much on decorations as the building is absolutely beautiful. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The weather was gorgeous. There was ample amount of spaces for parking. Also there were tons of cute places to take group shots of the wedding party. Plus, renting this place for a wedding is relatively inexpensive(comparably speaking). If you’re going to get married in Gainesville, get married here!
