We rented a home through Union Properties for one year. It was a smooth process once we were in the home. Their website allows you to pay your rent online, as well as report any maintenance issues. They responded quickly to any problems and make sure they were resolved. We would have used them again, but it seems that they are short staffed when it comes to showing the rentals. I called as soon as a new rental would open up, but having to wait a week to get into see it was unacceptable in this highly competitive rental market. That is the reason I took one star off.

I wanted to thank Shelly for working so hard to make sure my maintenance request was taken care of and anything else I needed. She always follows up with me, which is rare hardly ever happens when renting. I just wanted to thank her for her superior efforts and hard work! It definitely shows that she cares and she is an absolute delight to speak with. She is a great asset to the company, thank you Shelly !!!

I came to Union Property in October of 2014 looking for a home. Found our home and paid first, last, security and jumped through many hoops but ended up with the home we wanted. As months go by the owner of property was on the property and EXTREAMLY involved, too envolved. Union Properties tried to deal with the owner but some how just want successful in doing so. Seven months into our lease and many ridiculous issues as tenant that we shouldn’t have to have dealt with Union Property decides to assign our lease to the owners. We looked for a property management company that would be a stand up and honorable company, instead we got a company that when things got rough they bowed out and left us in the hands of the owners that they weren’t strong enough to deal with. I own a business and I know the difference between whats right and whats easy, in this case they took easy rather than doing whats right. I don’t right reviews but this was such a disappointment that I felt people should know before leasing something as special as a home. You and your loved ones should feel safe and secure, in this case we can only hope the remaining one year and five months to come will go fast and when exiting this lease we will not be raked across the coals.

Just got done with a weekend of rental searching and it wasn’t until we utilized Union Properties that we had success. They were friendly, attentive, always willing to go the extra mile and we couldn’t be happier.

Union Properties is by far the worst company I could have ever had the displeasure to patronize during my time in Gainesville. They are unprofessional, sneaky, and downright rude at times. I moved into a house 2 years ago that was next to an empty lot. I was shown the house and encouraged to put down a deposit, which I did, with my 2 friends for this house close to campus. I was very excited. Little did we know, Union Properties themselves were planning to build a giant apartment complex that surrounded the entire house during the next year. That empty lot turned into a construction site, complete with shouting workmen, horribly loud noises, and very, very early mornings, every freaking day of the next year of our lease. Oh, and the construction crew used our water without any compensation. It was miserable to say the least. And did the property agent bother to mention that this misery would be happening before we moved in? Of course not. Because they needed to make money, and then make even more money by making poorly-built mini-mansion apartments 2 feet from my window. I must mention that they were slightly accommodating by lowering our rent minimally for a few months, but that basically did nothing for us. Our house was unlivable for about 8 months, and it drove us out of our minds. We couldn’t do any work in the house, forget sleeping past 7:30 am, and the constant racket just generally made us go mad. Oh, and zero privacy. The staircase was built right at the same level as all of our bedroom windows, so all construction workers and new residents could see RIGHT in. And after all of that, when the new residents moved into these apartments, they were almost as loud as the construction. These brats that pay thousands of dollars in rent each month apparently thought they were entitled to be really obnoxious every single night of the week. And Union did nothing to establish a community where people could be respectful of others. Then, our house became conjoined with this horrible apartment complex, and Union completely turned off our trash pick up, which had been personally set up by one of us. They broke our personal contract with GRU without so much as a day’s notice. And instead of our personal trash cans and recycling bins that we had paid for, we had to start using a dumpster behind the complex that was totally creepy and not what we wanted at all. Union was generally unavailable to us, was terrible about returning phone calls, answering phone calls, and answering emails. Especially about important things. Like a broken stove. Our property manager was basically unreachable the entire time we lived there. On top of all of this, they were rude. When the people that were showing the property would come by to show it to potential new renters, they would say(while we were there to hear them) that«This place is usually much cuter…» because apparently our decorations weren’t girly or cute enough for their taste. Sorry we weren’t rich enough to make it look perfect! Well, that’s the end of my rant. I’ve been waiting for 2 years since the beginning of this horrible journey to do this, to make sure I got my security deposit back, etc. I hope you never have the same experience, and I want to tell Union, personally, that you’re the worst.

Rhonda and her team were an absolute pleasure to work with. Rented from Union for 2 years and unfortunately had to move out when the owners had to sell the property. Even in that situation, great communication and honest, fast answers. We didn’t realize how good we had it until we had to use another company on our current home. Which is the only knock on Union, their inventory isn’t huge.
