I really wanted to like this restaurant, but unfortunately, I just don’t. I’ve ordered take out here occasionally over the past few years as well as ordering their weekly meals. Out of everything I’ve tried, there were only a couple dishes I actually liked. I don’t make a habit of eating faux meats, but on occasion it’s nice for something different. I’ve tried pretty much all of them and most are pretty good. However, whatever faux meat they use is TERRIBLE. It’s rubbery, slimy and in my opinion, inedible. On my most recent visit I ordered the Peking BBQ Rice. The BBQ seitan was unlike any seitan I’ve had. I trashed it, which was a bummer because it was expensive! Their ingredients are all non-GMO and they don’t use msg, which is great, but the food just isn’t the best and it’s too highly priced for being mediocre. On the upside, the employees are very friendly.

The food makes up for the atmosphere and service. I had the custom combo with the soy chicken, curry and a summer roll and my hubby had the summer roll platter. All of the food was delicious and we’d recommend it and will stop here again when we travel through. But the atmosphere is bland and the service was awkward. We ordered water but didn’t get it, when my husband asked for it the response was, «you didn’t order water.» That’s not cool, at least take the time to check the ticket before telling the customer we didn’t order what we know we did. She checked the ticket and apologized and gave us the water. There were all of 5 people in the place and we had just ordered a few minutes prior so I really don’t know how she forgot, but either way, check first when a customer asks for something. Even if we hadn’t ordered water, there was a better way too handle the situation. The atmosphere is awkward, no music or background noise of any kind makes it feel uncomfortable. There’s a unisex bathroom that opens up right onto a table, the layout could be better. BUT, the food was WONDERFUL! They’ll hopefully get better at the other stuff.

I just got the quinoa salad with bell peppers and lemon/parsley. I forgot what walking into that place is like. It’s peaceful and charming. Such good vibes after a long day’s work. And everything that’s going into my mouth for dinner is fresh and delicious… peppery and sweet… the chickpeas are nutty and flavorful… this is Vegan food crafted to perfection.

I stopped here because I was starving and on my way home from a trip to GA back home to Tampa. I found it easily, the location is right off the interstate. I head in and a cashier stands in front of me… and says nothing. Not«hello», not«take your time», just stares blankly at me. I order a salad, spring rolls and skewers of «meat» The salad was delicious, though the dressing was not plentiful. The spring rolls were a bit greasy, but flavorful. The skewers were disgusting. That fake meat, whatever it is, is so so gross. I am not afraid of fake meat. I am not a cynic, disgusted by all fake meat. I have been vegan for nearly fifteen years. I have rarely had fake meat so gross. Perhaps back in 2004, when there wasn’t much competition in this category, I tasted some gross s**t like this, but not since. Terrible. Yuck. My boyfriend tried to order a salad and the staring, expression cashier told him that«mangoes and avocados are seasonal.» in this matter of fact way, like he shouldn’t have even ordered it because«duh». It’s not marked on the menu as a seasonal dish, and frankly, in FL, these things really aren’t very seasonal.
