While we are happy with the way our kitchen turned out in the end, it was no thanks to the folks at Barron’s Lumber with whom we designed our kitchen and purchased our Welborn cabinets. Our issues began when our designer(who no longer works at Barron’s) put together a design for our kitchen that included both base and upper cabinets. Since we liked the design, we signed off on it and the cabinets were ordered. When they arrived, our contractor contacted Barron’s to get something called an «elevation»(a view of the design from the front, since we only had the side view, which interestingly we hadn’t even realized could make the proportions appear different.) When the contractor saw the elevation, he informed us that the base cabinets would not line up with the upper cabinets, something that the designer had never told us and something that from the view that we had been shown and had signed off on, was not apparent. Stupidly, we went ahead and installed them anyway since we didn’t think it would look that bad and because we figured the designer must have known what she was doing since she was a kitchen designer by profession. Unfortunately, once installed it looked absolutely awful. We called Barron’s and spoke to Carolyn, the person who took over for the original designer and showed her the picture of what had occurred. Carolyn was incredibly apologetic and told us that she had been fixing many of this designer’s errors since she had taken over and they would fix this error and that she would get back to me very soon with a solution. A few days passed and Carolyn sent an email saying essentially that she was sorry but there was no way to fix this error and best of luck. I was able to get in touch with her boss Keith and explain that this was caused by the errors of one of their former designers and he explained that because there was granite already laid it was risky to remove it, etc. Nonetheless, there was no ownership or apology for any of this. Keith informed us that because we had signed off on the project(even though he noted we had never been shown the front view) there was nothing he could do other than give us a discount if we wanted to order new cabinets, saying that if he were to replace my cabinets he would go out of business(it says something that giving me a cabinet for $ 1000 would put them out of business…). Ultimately, because the project looked so atrocious due to the poor design, we did opt to order new cabinets, and it looks great now, however, I would advise anyone against going through Barron’s for kitchen design or ordering as they do not do quality design work and ultimately do not care about customer satisfaction.

A fantastic company with excellent customer service. The employees are knowledgeable and go above and beyond to be helpful. Prices are reasonable and well worth it for the customer service.

A go to place for great customer service in the kitchen cabinet department. I dealt with Vicky Anderson and she was the best. I actually went in looking for a sleek LED under cabinet light fixture and helped me every step of the way. If she treated me like for LED lights I could only imagine what she does on high ticket items. Great place and speak to Vicky Anderson best in the business.
