So this place is pricey but you get what you pay for. Their care and attention was spot on. Dr. Raleigh and Taney are really terrific. Highly recommend.

From my first conversation with the guy who answers the phone, who seemed SUPER attentive and on top of his game, I knew I was going to like this place. I was referred here by my regular vet after my kitty’s dental cleaning revealed signs of bigger problems (guess he inherited my messed-​up teeth!)… I brought kitty in for x-​rays and it turned out he had 6 teeth that needed to be pulled. Dr. Smith and his team did a great job ensuring that I got all the information I needed, understood what was happening, and was fully prepared for kitty’s aftercare. They even called the next day to follow up. Throughout the process they just seemed incredibly reliable, straightforward, competent, and caring. All the things you’d want in a pet dentist, if you’d ever stopped to think about what you wanted in a pet dentist!
I know, it is hard to feel enthusiastic about draining your savings account to fix your cat’s teeth (I mean, he seemed fine before, right? he never complained!) And immediately post-​op, when kitty couldn’t even sit up and seemed sooo sad, it sure seemed like it would have been a better idea to leave him his teeth and me my money. But the next morning kitty ate about 3 times more than he’s ever eaten before, and he’s kept that up for the past week… he must have been in a lot of pain for a long time. I’m surprised and thrilled to see how much happier he is, and grateful to the Center for their great work. 100% recommend.

I was fortunate enough to get a referral to Dr. Smith’s practice when my cat had several tooth issues. Let me say that I am a tough customer — my cat had IBD issues for several years (until I changed his diet to a holistic diet) and I have been to many vets and have become very skeptical — I actually have a deep distrust of the entire profession. However, Dr. Smith and his team were extremely professional and skilled. Putting your pet under for any reason should not be taken lightly. Dr. Smith has a state of the art operating room facility where all of vet stations are in the same room as recovery. They run it as if it were a top hospital for humans. In addition, the staff is not rushed/​out of control. They are very kind and courteous and available to answer their phones/​return calls as necessary. They have the entire process down to a science — upon my cat’s release they gave me a ziploc bag with several syringes that were pre-​measured with pain meds for that week making it impossible to make any mistakes. I was impressed and my cat did not experience any unnecessary stress. I am really grateful that I found this practice.

If you have a dog or cat with dental issues, don’t even think of having them treated anywhere else. Lots of vets perform dental procedures, but most are not really trained to do so. Do your pet a big favor and go here instead. Dr. Mark Smith, Dr. Taney and their staff are absolutely the greatest. Tremendous expertise, wonderful communication skills so you know what’s going on before and after the procedure, reasonable billing, excellent follow-​up. They make it as painless and comfortable as possible for the animals. Over the years, have taken two dogs and two cats here — all with the best possible results. I probably should inquire to see if they would do my own teeth.

Dr. Smith is great! My cat has a multitude of health problems one of which has been resorptive lesions, which are quite painful. Unfortunately once a cat has had resorptive lesions, it increases the chances of them having more so annual dentals are recommended. Although it’s always nerve racking to have my cat, who has so many chronic health issues, put under anesthesia, I know that he’s in the best hands at the Center for Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery. Dr. Smith and the staff are very knowledgeable and have a great deal of experience. Everyone is very caring and friendly. Usually to see a specialist costs significantly more money, but having received quotes from other facilities, the cost at The Center for Veterinary Dentistry is very reasonable. For any animal that is having trouble with their teeth or simply need a cleaning, I highly recommend Dr. Smith and Dr. Taney.
