Me and my boyfriend ended up going here after leaving the Uncle Julio’s across the street because their(UJ’s) wait times were over an hour! To be fair, it was Valentine’s Day… Pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the menu. My boyfriend had the Philly cheese steak and it was amazing. I had some type of chicken pasta bowl(I forget the exact name). The crunched up bread crumbs on top were delicious. It was small touches like this that really elevated the experience from similar restaurants, like Panera. A bit on the pricier side for fast casual dining, but ultimately worth it given the quality of the food. One particular standout that has to be mentioned is the reddish sauce that came with the Philly cheese steak: in the words of Guy Fieri: «I’d eat that sauce off a flip flop!» It was THAT good! We’ll definitely be going back.

–Mostly decent food. –Nicely laid out with plenty of seating. –A nice place to get warm after some early morning errands. –Good people-watching. Cute guy serving food. The breakfast panini was a little oily but probably better than I could do. A–

After a horrible experience at the Bethesda location(see review) I was very pleased with coming here. They renovated the space, added more seating area which was much needed. Looks good! I ordered my usual — chicken pomodori panini extra avocado & salad. I was sooooo happy this location isn’t skimp on the avocado and gave me more than a half a slice… unlike another location! Anyway, the panini was perfect, bread was toasty and I literally have nothing to complain about. Glad I found my new go-to corner bakery :)

For office events, we usually orders catered breakfast from Corner Bakery. We order the Breakfast Basket as well as the fresh fruit tray. The breakfast basket consists of assorted muffins, assorted bagels, croissant, cinnamon rolls, slices of cinnamon crème cake. It also comes with cream cheese for the bagels. Personally, I dont think it’s worth the price, its just okay. The pastries dont seem as fresh as other bakeries. I guess it’s just a our safe go to spot for catered breakfast. They did provide plates, napkins and utensils so that’s a plus.

Mediocre at best. The food isn’t worth the price, despite the location. My sandwich was poorly put together and the chicken was as dry as good be. The broc/chef soup was sweet and tasted old. The floors were filthy! Oh and the kicker, it was raining inside! On me! So much for those renovations I read about! Granted, I’m in town on business… But with my experience… I will never be back to any of these«restaurants».

This place doesn’t deserve to share a name with the great establishment that is Corner Bakery. I’ve been to the Mass Ave and Arlington CB plenty of times, but I have never experienced the disgust I just went through moments ago. I walk into the store and the lanky young man at the register didn’t greet me, but instead nodded to me as to suggest he is ready to take my order. I should have walked out, but I proceeded with my order. I got the«Gobbler,» a thanksgiving style sandwich he corrected about when I misnamed it. Fine. I then wanted to get a free mini bundt cake I had an email coupon for, but their sucky wifi system wouldn’t allow me to connect. No big deal. I place the order, and it came out quick enough. When I received my bag, I checked and found that there was a bag of chips in there instead of the carrots I asked for. Again, no biggie: I just asked him to give me the carrots instead. He says ok, and then asks if that’s all I need, and I’m like, yeah. He then walks off to the register. I wait about 1 minute before asking him about the carrots. He replies, «oh, I thought I put them in the bag with the he chips. That’s my bad.»(Of course it’s your«bad!», I said in my head). If the food had been good, I wouldn’t have left this bad review. It was awful. The sandwich was subpar and I could have done a better job with my eyes closed. Not only was the lettuce wilted, but there was too much cran-mayo and the turkey was tough and dry. Next, the carrots looked like they were from a leftover bag of carrots from a run down bodega(see the pic). I can’t believe they gave it to a customer; it was inedible. Finally, a third of the pickle spear was half-frozen. Inedible. It’s like a warning meal to never return or else. I get the picture, I’m never coming back. The only saving grace of this last-supper-esque meal(scratch that; people on death row probably have gotten better last meals) was the cinnamon cream cake — and even that was subpar as it was a little dry and not as moist as I remember it being at other locations. This place is a sham and a sorry excuse for a corner bakery.

After taking a bite out of the wrong order, the worker delivered it to the customer who ordered that salad. I intervened and informed the customer. Worker first lied about it, but after showing him where my toddler took a bite from the bread, he took it back. Manager tried to say that it was already switched in kitchen and did not seem to take it very serious that food was being taken from one table to the next…

Very disappointed in their milkshakes. I paid 3.99×2 for two strawberry banana smoothies which were only 2⁄3 filled. They weren’t even cold, so needless to say they were watery. It tasted so disgusting. If they even used actual fruit, both the bananas and the strawberries must have been at least a week rotten. I couldn’t even stomach it. At least the cookies were only a dollar. The cashier Matthew was very nice so three stars for him!

Carryout only. Food is good but facility is dirty. Did I mention how dirty this place is??. I don’t know how they can run a restaurant and not clean. They’ve removed the trash cans so patrons are forced to leave dirty tables behind. Ok. So clean it up. It’s not appetizing to eat around mounds of trash.

The food is very oily and heavy. I took The Panini Pomidoro and asked not to ad pesto mayo, but anyway it had too much fat(so our breakfast wasn’t tasty at all.

My friend and I came because of corner bakery’s flats promotion. We each received a free flat(each under 330 calories) with a side of either chips or carrots). The waitress brought the food to us, which was nice. Additionally, the food came quickly– about 5 minutes. The portions are small, but each flat had a good amount of meat to make a filling lunch. Free wifi is also an added bonus. My southwest chicken flat was good– flavorful chicken and some type of slaw with ranch dressing. My friend’s pulled pork flat was also good– a lot of bbq pork. The carrots, however were disappointing. They gave us each about 7 measly baby carrots and some were starting to get black. We also got a blueberry lemonade baby bundt to share and it was delicious and light! The blueberries were fresh and the glaze was lemony. During the summer, their employees are high schoolers or college students. Many of my friends work here, and are very friendly and attentive.

What happened to this place? When it first opened, it was a decent place to eat. Sandwiches were classic and good. Coffee was great when it was right next to the door. Now they’ve remodeled and changed there menu. I feel they’ve lost their identity with Asian subs and Mexican tortas. The coffee tastes watered down. Only thing that tasted okay was the DC Chicken Salad from long time ago. And that didn’t even taste right! Big thumbs down.

A nice little spot located in the Rio right across from Dicks and Joe’s Crab Shack. Good breakfast options to include pancakes, scramblers, oatmeal and other items. Friendly staff and ample seating makes this a viable breakfast option. Coffee is hot and fresh with free refills. So far have not had a negative experience from the times I have visited and will make this restaurant part of my daily rotation. If you have the chance to stop in, do so and enjoy.

everything is overpriced. the panini are good though. I got the half club panini without bacon and loved it. the combo gave me a choice of several things. I got the Mac and cheese which seemed like Mac and butter to me with mayonnaise at the bottom. very gross. lacked cheese. no taste at all but I was hungry. I spent $ 9 without any drink for a half sandwich and small cup of buttered pasta. fail.

First time coming out here! I got the all American breakfast. Brought eggs, bacon, bread toast and potatoes. Everything was very good. Came out pretty fast considering all the paper that were ahead of me in line! Next time I’ll bring my parents cause the food was great and it’s really nice inside! Also they have multiple choices of coffee! I’m a coffee lover so that’s a plus!

A local favourite. Located on a street corner right next to Rio’s central square, which makes outdoor seating all the more interesting. Lovely ambiance, spacious seating, not to mention a diverse menu. If you’re looking for a group and family friendly café, this is it.

i came here for a quick breakfast with my dad a few minutes after 8am on a weekday morning. i was a bit surprised that this café didn’t open until 8am on a weekday, which is a bit on the late side considering many people begin their morning commute as early as 6 or 7am. when we arrived, there was only one cashier at the checkout counter and she asked us to wait a few minutes since she wasn’t ready. not good considering it was a few minutes after opening. but fortunately for her, we were the only customers in line at that time. i ordered 2 items: 1. steel-cut oatmeal — this was a bowl of whole grain, steel-cut oatmeal topped with a choice of currants, cranberries, brown sugar, toasted walnuts and almonds. i asked for all toppings, minus the brown sugar. this was a hot, thick and hearty bowl of oatmeal, just the way i like it. 2. farmer’s scrambler omelet — consisted of bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and cheese, with a choice of toast, and fresh fruit medley or breakfast potatoes on the side. i customized this order, requesting egg whites or egg substitute and no cheese. i also chose whole wheat toast, dry(without the butter). i don’t recall being asked for my preference of a side, and was given the breakfast potatoes. given the choice, i’d have picked the fresh fruit medley. the omelet and toast were good, but i didn’t touch the potatoes; dad had them and ate every bite, so i assume they were good. the food was pretty good, but would have appreciated better customer service. i am still scratching my head why this place doesn’t open until 8am… guess i’ll have to return and ask the manager to find out.

We love coming this Corner Bakery, especially during the warmer seasons so we can sit outside and«people-watch», and take in the other scenery at the Rio. I’ve tried several items on the menu and they’ve all been pretty good… And fresh. Staff is usually friendly too. Yesterday I tried the four-cheese mac n cheese w/diced tomato and substituted the bacon for chicken for $ 2 extra. Mac and cheese was more saucy than creamy which okay, but I do prefer a more creamier texture. Even with that said, it was a pretty decent meal for the price. Chicken was seasoned well, pasta was cooked well and the serving of diced tomatoes was just right. It’s served with a slice of bread –panini pressed and brushed with olive oil and herbs. It was filling and I’d definitely get it again.

Stopped in here for a breakfast sandwich on a Saturday that I was working. This place was nice and festive. The food was decent. I will go back. But it really was nothing special!

Sandwich was missing mustard and mayo was just turkey lettuce and tomatoes and they forgot chips on side. Won’t eat here again. The menu stated what it came with mustard mayo and server asked if I would like chips and said YES sigh. The loaded potato soup was so old could not eat it. They did get my lemon bar right! Did not call them because this location was a one time visit to the area so won’t be back
