Evolve Academy

I’ve been training here for a number of years and it’s got a great vibe to it. The amount of classes, in different arts, one can take are impressive. Brazilian JiuJitsu not your thing? Try our kickboxing. Or our fitness class. Any one of these will help you get in shape.

I started this academy in January 2013 with their fitness challenge and have never looked back. It is hands down your one-​stop shop for the best MMA and fitness training in the area. My entire family trains here. The instructors know their stuff and are the friendliest, most respectful bunch around. The gym teaches people of all levels from 3 year-​olds to beginners to professional MMA fighters. The new gym is huge with high ceilings which is really nice. I cancelled my LA fitness membership because I only wanted to go to Evolve.. The workouts are challenging and rewarding. Definitely give it a shot. You won’t go anywhere else.

my friend won a free day class here so we decided to give it a shot! this place is an awesome place to really get a great workout and learn martial arts properly. it’s run/​led by a bunch of friendly and knowledgable people! would highly recommend!

I am not register at evolve but my boyfriend and I register his little brother at evolve and honestly it is great. All the masters/​trainer are really friendly and outgoing.

I trained here a long time ago for a combined total of about 6+ months, until i couldn’t afford it anymore. This was actually the first place i took up muay thai and bjj, let alone any martial art, and did a great job with introducing me into the world of martial arts! Great, knowledgeable, and friendly instructors. The conditioning is great, the instructors do a good job with explaining every maneuver, and the programs themselves are well established.

I trained at Evolve on and off for over 3+ years combined, most of that being Muay Thai with about 6 months of no-​gi Jiu Jitsu. Before that, I had trained at another prominent MMA gym in Rockville for about 18 months, and since then have trained at a BJJ gym close to my office in Arlington for another 6 months. Evolve is definitely the best of the three, and is certainly one of the best MMA gyms in the area. Of course, part of this is because Evolve offers a variety of classes (as well as kids’ classes) that can fit any schedule with top-​notch instructors, and their pricing is highly competitive to boot.
But the best part is Master Mike Moses, who is not only a talented instructor and fighter, but a great guy in general. His approach is friendly and helpful, and he is great at emphasizing and working the fundamentals before building up to more advanced techniques. Having seen how other gyms do it, I know that Mike is extremely good at teaching all levels without any of the pretentiousness or attitude you might find at other gyms. I would highly recommend him to practitioners of all levels or even people who just want to try something a little more intense for personal fitness.

We have been very happy with Mr. Frank. He does a wonderful job keeping our kids’ attention and teaching.

Great school for Mixed Martial Arts in the Germantown/​Gaithersburg area. They specialize in Muy Thai (Personal Self Defense) and Brazilian Jujitsu. Master Mike Moses is great and so are the other instructors like Mr. Frank. As you can tell R.E.S.P.E.C.T is big at this school I think it’s great for kids. Very good school with wonderful spirit! I went to the 2 trial classes it was fantastic and I got a free tshirt. I can’t wait to join the classes when I get back from traveling. Highly recommended if you are looking for a MMA school.
