There are 3 reasons why I LOVE to go to this gym GOLDSGYMINGAITHERSBURGMARYLAND. 1. There’s a personal trainer that’s will train you to the extra mile you think that you can’t do. He observe you and take the time to know the areas of your body which is weak and is strong. Meaning which part of you needs more attention. He helps you and show you how to work on your diet. The great thing about his training is he knows what he is doung. When you are working out alone you are remembering what he taught you. Your determination, energy, and the confident becomes stronger that you will go forward into your goal. His name is Mr Mike Gardner and he is awesome. So if you are planning on looking for a good trainer he’s the one. 2. The whole staffs at Goldsgym in my Gaithersburg Maryland provide a very caring, supporting, interest, professionalism and compassion to all their members. Ms. Maira who do the housekeeping does an awesome job. She works very hard as a individual person that clean the entire gym alone. I statue her GREATJOB. 3. The general manager Mr. Wilmore has a lot of responsibility, however, he handle everyrhing with honesty, respectful, and professionally. That’s great for a person with that big responsibility. I have been to many different gyms and also another Gold’s gym. I say today this is one of the best one I give it a five stars. Keep up the GREATNESS. Sharron Holquin

I love this gym. Everyone is super friendly and Mike is the best personal trainer ever. He’s helped me reach my goals and beyond and I’ve gotten stronger than I ever thought I could. I couldn’t have done any of this without Mike and I’m truly thankful for him. He’s why I am at Golds.

Great gym, great location and great staff. The main problem is it can get really crowded between 4:30−6pm and sometimes Saturday mornings that make it hard to find parking(sometimes impossible), and to find weights/machines to use. It’s a little overwhelming to be there at that time.

Gold’s Gyms are middle of the road no-frills fitness facilities that offer good workout equipment and group classes. Typical, Gold’s Gyms do not offer towel service, racquetball, basketball or swimming pools. I have been to dozens of Gold’s Gyms around the country and at every facility Gold’s has had some of the more professional employees you will interact with at a comparable fitness facility. As far as the Gold’s Gyms in the DMV are concern you will find they all satisfy the basics of providing a workout facility that is typically clean with working equipment and a professional staff. In my opinion, there are three categories of fitness/weight lifting gyms which include your Planet Fitness, Lifetime Fitness and Gold’s Gym. Note: I do not include Crossfit, warriorfit, etc because they are more of a type of workout. I have been a Gold’s Gym member for about two years and prior to that I was a member of Washington Sports Club(WSC) Germantown. Before WSC Germantown closed it was in the same category or closer to a Gold’s than a Lifetime Fitness. WSC Germantown provided all the necessary equipment a «weightlifter» needed to work every part of the body under one roof. I have not found that at any of the Gold’s Gyms in the Maryland area. A couple of years ago Gold’s purchased Fitness First. Along with its original facilities the addition of Fitness First has given Gold’s a significant presence in the DMV. As a Gold’s member you will pay approximately $ 36 per month to workout at any of the Corporate facilities. The benefit is a change of pace or environment and you will find that one facility might have sufficient equipment for leg workouts, another for back and shoulders, and another for cardio, etc. The negative is that more of the new Gold’s facilities opening in and around Maryland are Franchises which do not«Honor» this membership!

Clearly a poster is bitter about something other than Gold’s. I have never felt that Gold’s baited and switched me. The facility is clean, and it is run very well by Mario. If I ever have concerns, he is always readily available! Love this place!

Do not try the personal training sessions at the gym. If you do, then don’t sign a contract. They have a ridiculously high turn over rate with their personal trainers and they almost change once every month. The corporate office refused to refund portion of my money after going over four personal trainers who each lasted for only few weeks. Not worth the hassle, you better just bring your own personal trainer from outside. The gym itself is OK, its clean and well maintained.

I have been a member for about 4 years now and this used to be formally known as Fitness First. This location is my first membership paid to any gym and I wouldn’t leave them for anything!!! I live in the area(about 5 mins away) and have seen the place change for the better. The management is somewhat more attentive now than before. The areas are cleaned by a cleaning crew daily and the staff are a bit young but friendly overall. Being a mother of 1, childcare is important as well. Their staff is polite and my daughter loves them! They care from 6months and have a no peanut policy in case of allergies. The facility has at least two of every machine when it comes to treadmills, elliptical’s, stair climbers, weight machines & free weights. They have an aerobic room for a variety of classes. I highly recommend Kim’s class of Total Body Conditioning. She makes you work! Weights, cardio and a bit of interval training. The only down side for now is the parking lot as parking can sometimes get rough. Hopefully, if and once they expand it, it will be perfect for many more years to come.

I don’t post many reviews, but I wanted to give some helpful insight to this Golds gym. I’m not going to bash this gym as it has all of the free weights and machines 90% of everyone would want. However, if you are into free weights and workout anywhere between 4:30pm — 6:00pm, you will be waiting a bit. I strictly use free weights for the most part and this area is very tight and congested during the times I’ve stated. The Golds gym on muddy branch road(now planet fitness) was very nice and spacious. If you are interested in this gym, I would highly recommend visiting at the times you will be working out the most. Finally, if you are into just machines and cardio, you should be OK for the most part. Hope this helps. Bill

Well, I can officially say this place got my first ever, paid gym membership. Having either worked out at home or on the military base I happened to be stationed at for free, I previously never had to worry about a membership anywhere. However, now living and working in the local area prompted me to finally figure it out. Since this gym is near my office, I first started out with their complimentary seven-visit trial to see what I was getting into, which I would recommend to anyone looking for a new place to workout. After my seven visits were up, I was sold(literally) on an annual, paid membership. You can also pay month-to-month for a couple bucks more. Like most places there is a one-time«enrollment fee» and monthly dues are charged to your favorite credit card. My membership is not only valid here, but at a number of Gold’s Gym(formerly Fitness First) facilities in the surrounding area, a nice plus. Also, for parents of young ones, they provide onsite childcare while you’re getting your sweat on. The free Wi-Fi is a nice added bonus too. With plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, stair climbers, weight machines, free weights, aerobic room(for scheduled classes) and spacious locker rooms, this has become my new, favorite lunchtime workout spot.

This used to be Fitness First and it seems to me nothing has changed so far since Gold’s Gym bought over the Fitness First franchise. This location is spacious with lots of machines and the staff is mostly friendly(the evening staff seems nicer than the daytime staff). Childcare is available and my only complain is the lack of parking spaces. The lot is big but the enrollment has gone up ever since they move to this location, and they need to think about how to possibly expand the parking lot. One cool thing about this gym is that it’s right next to air park and it is nice to see planes land and take off.
