My sister in law and I had the bright idea to have a family portrait taken as a gift for our in-​laws plus our husband’s grandmothers. She found a Groupon for $ 25. Unfortunately, the 4YO niece had a «PAY ATTENTION TO ME» meltdown, which kind of marred the experience. However, the photographer did the best she could with the situation, including talking to my niece, trying to give her toys to hold on to, etc. I do think the prices they charge are outrageous, but maybe those people we overheard didn’t have a surly toddler in most of their photos!
The whole experience seemed to be kind of fool-​proof, in that the camera actually didn’t seem to work if everything wasn’t lined up right. It was kind of an unnecessary hard sell, in that the consultants spent several minutes designing collages. I know they have to do that, but … I was kind of hoping to get a shot of me and my husband that we could use on Xmas cards but the unimaginative prom-​like poses put an end to that.
Bottom line: if you have a deal and a little kid, this would be a good place. We saw multiple shoots of infants/​siblings and birthday kids that looked adorable. Honestly, I think that is their bread and butter, and not taking photos of adults.

I had a Groupon deal for a portrait session here, and it was not even worth the $ 25 I spent. They overbook and rush people in & out like cattle. They don’t take the time to try to create good photos. We had one photographer in the room with us, unlike at Target Portrait Studio, where there were two photographers. She did not even look at the photos after taking them to see if they were good. My 17 month-​old daughter was not the easiest to photograph, and they really needed more than one person helping in the studio. When our time was up, the lady who was taking the photos rushed us out even though I told her I wanted at least one picture with my daughter smiling and we had none.
We waited a long time for our session to start, and then for an interminable amount of time while waiting to review the photos on the computer. My groupon deal required me to choose 3 photos of my liking for a CD, and there was only one photo from the bunch that was halfway decent. I would never go back here.
