I have been a client for several years and my father has been a client for close to 30 (through all the company name changes). We have mostly dealt with Arthur Dykes, whom I gather is one of the managing partners.
They just completed my taxes, which I must say were a little complicated. However, I was very disappointed all around. To justify — I’m CPA, and while I don’t practice tax, I understand what is going on. Former Big 4 employee.
Main items:
1. Time wise — It took them roughly three months during non-​busy season to complete. Most of this time nobody was working on it. It was probably 3 – 4 days of work.
2. Mistakes were made — (roughly 3) and they were unapologetic each time. I couldn’t believe the lack of professionalism. They didn’t try to accept accountability, or say thank you for catching that. I explained my frustration and they didn’t seem to catch on.
3. Communication between staff, manager, and partner was beyond non-​existent… so appalling! Again, unapologetic. They kept asking for the same explanations.
4. Delivery — while each draft was sent over e-​mail, he couldn’t email a final version for «security» … they both contained the exact same information! Nonsensical. Then he had it delivered to my house, where it didn’t require a signature and sat on my front stoop in NE DC for three days. Security … sense…
5. Price… I almost puked… when I heard it.
Long story short; I’m sure they are nice people, but wow. I hope someone at their office reads this and contacts me about it because, they ought to address their services like they care.

The follow-​up: The opposite of what you would expect. Instead of apologizing and saying something to the effect of «we will do better» …it was «excuse and blame» on repeat. I hope they get off their high horse. I know they found my words coarse (on this review and during business (email and phone)), but they accurately reflected what happened. Nobody shouted or said obscenities. They chose not to listen, acknowledge, or apologize, which only made it worse.
