A man claiming to be from«Senate Termite and Pest Control — Gaithersburg, Maryland — 25 years in business» just knocked on my door. I told him we don’t accept soliciting. He said rather abruptly and rudely«Oh, I am not soliciting!» then turned his back on me and took a short cut across my property to my neighbor’s house. Is it necessary to be so rude when going door to door? I would hope that if I had a business that after 25 years, I would not need to go door to door. Just saying …

Violators of the«Do Not Call List», blatant, clueless abuse by a company in our area. Spoke with the«manager» who seemed to think that removing my number was sufficient remedy to their reprehensible actions!

I received a telemarketing call late friday night letting me know someone from Senate Termite Control would be in my area and offered a free inspection. I said okay and the time was set up for saturday. So «Mike» came out(late I might add). The first thing he wanted to do was come into my house. I said no. Than he took me around the yard which he wanted to do the back first. He lifted up rocks and stones and would say see this is where the ants, or termites are. I would look and say but there aren’t any and he would continue. So we made our way back around to the front and as he was saying he could give me a general purpose contract. I said for what? He than looked down and in my flower bed by the front door was a huge dead rat. I was freaked out. I said OMG what do you think killed it? He said natural causes about 2 days ago… Hmmmmm no flies, no maggots, no nothing. But what was wild is that just before he came I had raked that flower bed and cleaned up the area. On the contract he was trying to get me to pay for it said mice and ants… Well thats a little odd since this was a «RAT» not a mouse… after all you are the expert wouldn’t you know the difference. WOULDNOTRECOMMENDTHISCOMPANY.

Legitimate companies don’t have boiler rooms of telemarketers making calls up until nine o’clock in the evening.(I was called at 8:45 p.m.) The person who called me at home refused to provide the company’s address or telephone number. When I telephoned the company’s Manassas location the next day to complain, one of the managers told me that the company does not consider its telemarketing calls to be «sales calls» because they are offering«free inspections.» Yeah, right. I’m sure the president of the company just loves being called late into the evening with offers of «free inspections.» I’d never have anything to do with this company, and if I could give zero stars instead of one I’d do just that.
