I am an admitted salon slut and switch venues all the time in pursuit of a really good one. I was very pleased with Serenity and may, in fact, become monogamous. The place is very clean and quiet(what is it with all the TVs in salons???), the technicians quite lovely, and there is plenty of parking. Mani-pedi for $ 45? Yes, please.

Can not understand the good reviews about this place. Walked in this morning without an appointment which was nice. Employee was friendly. But employee kept pushing me to do gel nails. No not something I am interested in as consumer my choice. Annoying while getting my manicure. Ask once. Floor was dirty, stations were so dusty, place needs a serious cleaning. I do not understand other reviews about this place being clean. It certainly was not today. Tools were pulled from what looked like a new bag but taking a closer look they were old. Yuck… Went in for a manicure and a pedicure, decided only to the the manicure. Which was just okay, extremely over priced for the Kentlands, Gaithersburg unclean shop. $ 17. It was not even worth that at all. Uneven and rough.

I have been looking for a new place to get my nails done when I had a not so great experience where I used to go. So I came to Serenity based on a recommendation from a friend. I made appointments for three of us to get manicures and pedicures. First off, they were incredibly accommodating! We weren’t going to be able to get there before 6:30 and they close at 7:00, but they stayed open just for us! We all felt that they did a good, clean, and neat job on our nails including all of the cleaning up of cuticles as appropriate. I love the color on my nails and toe nails(although I had something to do with that too). Three days later and my manicure is intact(which for me may be a miracle). Plus bonus points for staying open late for us. So, why only 4 stars? I felt the price was a little high for the area($ 45 for a mani/pedi), but will I return? Yep!

The place is nice and their manicures are a little on the pricey side so I expected a top notch manicure. They did a nice job with the polish however they were terrible at removing cuticles. If your nails/cuticles are in good shape and you get regular manicures this is a good place. If you need a serious fix then I would not recommend them.

I’ve been going here for years. It’s clean and the staff are friendly. Their space is comfortable and calming, minus the occasional inscence(not a fan, I prefer fresh air). The techs do a few things that make their standard manicures last longer: they wipe nails with nail polish remover after the put lotion on your hands and they usually put an extra coat of clear polish or base between coats. I’ve spent more money at other salons that do a quick sloppy job that doesn’t last. Serenity is my favorite nail salon by far.

I scheduled an appointment the day before for both a manicure & pedicure. I was on-time for the appointment. Lady technician was friendly. Good first impressions about this place that is located in UPSCALE Kentlands. First the pedicure — quicker than usual. As we proceeded to the manicure station, she states that I will need to wait 20 mins. for the manicure b/c there is no one available right now. Rather stunned, I said that that was the reason that I had made an appointment ahead of time. She said she had to leave, that she was sorry, can I wait? [what???] I didn’t have time to wait. .. asked instead if she could put a coat of clear polish on my nails and I’d just get going. She agreed, «threw it on» & I left. Next day? It all peeled off! Must’ve been a pre-coat polish or something, ‘cuz it was not real polish! I left pretty disappointed with a place I really had planned to return to.
