The Snoop Sister’s Inn should be considered a standard-setter for B&B establishments. Located a short walk from the picturesque Galena river park and Galena’s main shopping district, the 150+ year old house is in beautiful condition. Walking in transports you to an older, grander time of elegance while still offering modern comforts and niceties. The décor is tasteful, nothing is obtrusive, and the rooms are what they promise to be. We stayed in the Darleen room, which had a cute little loveseat couch, private attached bathroom and a comfortable queen bed. There were antique objects everywhere, and little pieces of intrigue to be found all around the house. Taking the opportunity to snoop about as the house’s name suggested, we even found the attic’s funny/scary secret guest! Our hosts, Gordon and Maureen are incredibly hard-working people. They really made us feel at home and gave us a great education about the house and Galena. The breakfast was unbelievable! Eggs, yogurt parfait, fruit, toast, pancakes, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, when they say«full breakfast» they mean FULL breakfast. We could barely move after the feast that was as pretty as it was tasty, which gave us ample time to appreciate the fine china and artful antique touches around the living and dining rooms. It was cold in the morning when we left The Snoop Sister’s Inn, but we left with warm hearts and promises to come back soon.
