Granny’s Kitchen

This restaurant is very casual and beautiful. There is new floors and there magnificent. I really love the restaurant. The breakfast is great and every bite I take is delicious. The lay out is very roomy and really cool. This restaurant is affordable and for anyone who enjoys casual.

What a great little place. We were on the road looking for a local breakfast spot when Unilocal found this. We got off the highway and went in. It was packed but 1 booth open the specials were great and everyone was very happy always a good sign. Hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream skillets great, everything was just like you want it to be. worth the side trip

Bathrooms are not handicapped access able. Normally eat here during the week and it’s good. First time on a Sunday and it was awful. Food and services wasn’t great.

Forgot to check in (ughhhhh) but wanted to get a review. First impression: outdated, small, and borderline dirty. Upon walking into the place I felt like the music stopped and everyone turned to watch the city folk come in to eat (may seem like an exaggeration but not really). Staff got our menus and drink order lickety split, then there was a long smoke break apparently until anyone came back to collect our food orders. Meanwhile… the old dude next to me was picking his ear wax with his finger and wiping it on his jeans. I had time to admire the bizarro coffee mug my mom received (see the picture).
So random dude comes over to get our food order, and I order cakes, eggs, links, with a side of hashbrowns. The food was good — nothing amazing. I will say the pancakes were very fluffy and optimally cooked, so kudos for that. My eggs were overdone but otherwise everything was alright.
The place got busy and people were standing around for tables. We were here on a Sunday around brunch so busy was expected. The place is fairly small so you may be waiting for a table (something to keep in mind).
Overall, I’d not go back. The prices were cheap but nothing so great to draw me back. The clientele is overwhelmingly 50+, so we are talking regulars.
If you happen to be in Galion maybe try it out, otherwise I’d head over to The Big Plate down the road because that place is phenomenal.

Granny’s Kitchen is a Galion institution. It is nothing fancy but good solid home style cooking. The portions are generous and the prices good. The service is good at this place which has served Galion for over 30 years.

Just for breakfast alone, boom 5 stars!!! They know how to cook. Period. Everything comes out of the kitchen perfectly. GOLDEN BROWN AND DELICIOUS. No runny eggs, no underdone pancakes, no pale, lifeless home fries! This funky little place has it going on, a little small in size and everything pleasantly just on this side of tacky add up to awesome. Go here — see what good food tastes like and see how food should be.
In complimenting the staff how good things were, again — seems like i have to do that every time i go here, they mentioned how many good things are said about the place. Funny thing too, the waitress said that tons of people come from all over to get the well cooked food here. She said they even pull a bunch of business from Mount Gilead and Bucyrus. That makes sense having dined on the blandness of those 2 towns… Granny’s is really a great greasy spoon! Clean, hospitable and well cooked, tasty food!!!
