Donut Palace certainly isn’t anything fancy, but it was just what I needed this morning. Plus it was open bright and early on a Sunday, which was a huge plus. Even with snow on the ground and 15-degree temperatures outside, these folks were friendly and greeted me with a smile. I got a few sausage and cheese pigs in the blanket and a couple of old fashioned cake doughnuts, both of which were great. The pigs are gigantic and are surrounded by fluffy, flaky dough. Cake doughnuts are my favorite kind, and these did not disappoint — sugary and thick, but by no means dry. I’m a fan!
