The wine seller is a hidden gem. Every meal we have had there was superb. The service is courteous, accurate andwelcoming. The menu is varied tho limitted. The limits are fine for us. The pasta is homemade and the seafood is fresh. The wine and beer lists are very reasonably priced. I will go back again and again.

First impressions aren’t everything, if they were, I wouldn’t have even walked in this restaurant. It’s in the basement of a house type looking building. It’s behind the moose lodge, there’s a little alley and the entrance in the side door. There is one major downside, for those handicapped individuals you may have to get dinner elsewhere. The special was a drunken mushroom appetizer dish. When it arrived I thought it was an incorrect dish. I was assured by my girlfriend it was the correct dish. It was quite tasty. We ordered the drunken shrimp and pineapple glazed salmon. Topped the whole thing off with a apple dumpling a la mode. They were both fantastic, I was extremely happy with my salmon. The portion was surprisingly large. We are excited to return and try something different.

Excellent scallops, crab cakes and flat iron steak! Our party agreed that the food and service was great. We also decided that this is one of the few places where you forget where you are! This was something special!

The place is definitely hard to find and is not what you expect — it is in the bottom of a house. The atmosphere is definitely romantic, with a candle on each table. The«kitchen» is right behind the bar and everything is made fresh to order. The pasta is homemade and everything we had was very good. There were only 2 servers for 10 tables, so the service was not fast, but the wait wasn’t too long. They have a full bar and wine by the bottle. Would come here again and try other things on the menu. We had the drunken mushrooms as an appetizer which was amazing and then the drunken shrimp over pasta and crab sauté over pasta which were both good– but both had the same sauce as the drunken mushroom appetizer.

The Wine Cellar is my new favorite place to go when I’m back in the Cambria County area! This place could compete with some of the best big-city restaurants I’ve visited! What the hell it’s doing in Gallitzin, I don’t know! The atmosphere is charming(would be great for a romantic dinner), the servers polished, and the food simply outstanding! Prices are ridiculously reasonable. For such a small restaurant, they have a nice wine and beer selection. The menu is not huge, but this is one of the only local restaurants where EVERYONE in my extended family consistently comes away pleased(even my über-picky aunt!). The homemade pastas and sauces are all very good, and the mushroom appetizer is to die for! Even the salads are special– no iceberg here! The only negative aspect of this restaurant is the downstairs dining room, which can only be accessed by descending a steep, narrow staircase– difficult for older patrons, and I would think nearly impossible for anyone who is physically disabled.
