Food comes fast and it’s good. I’m upgrading a star because of the staff. Everyone to date has been courteous, friendly, efficient. And they’re so kind: this visit, my friend was meeting me during his lunch break, so we knew we had limited time. I ordered ahead, everything arrived in a timely manner — except him. While I was waiting, the manager came over and covered his plate with another so it wouldn’t get hold. And when, because he couldn’t break away after all, everything had to be packed up, there was no attitude, no fuss, just smiles and hopes articulated that no one was too sick. Really great staff!

A delightful little diner style restaurant. My friend had the chicken burrito… smothered. He devoured every bite with gusto. It looked amazing from the other side of the table. I had the breakfast burrito without meat. It was one of the best I’ve had in the land of breakfast burritos. The ingredients were fresh and tasty… and the price… wow! So cheap for a great handheld breakfast burrito. I can’t wait to go back to Gallup just so I can go here and have another breakfast burrito, with green chile… of course.

Charming Route 66 diner with really good salsa and guacamole for the freshly made chips to start. We had breakfast here, and I can’t decide whether I prefer the red or green chile. Both were tasty. We’ll probably stop on our way back so hubby can pick up a pint of the rojo to use at home.

Very friendly and attentive staff. The chicken fried steak was rather poor and my wife had a sandwich with two slices of mystery meat, turkey. It is the type of sandwich you would make at home in a few minutes. Side salad of iceberg blend. Chips and salsa and guacamole provided were good, also included vanilla pudding for dessert which was what you would expect it to be.

Very cool atmosphere. They were able to accommodate my gluten and dairy intolerances. Food was pretty good. We went more for the historic route 66 feel and we got what we wanted out of it.

On a cross country road trip from NYC to Long Beach, CA, we stopped in Gallup, NM for gas and stumbled on Aurelia’s Dinner on Route 66 it’s a genuine 1950’s road side dinner with Marilyn Monroe and Elvis memorabilia in place. Their complementary chips with homemade(yes! Made everyday) salsa and guacamole are delish. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich bc we were in a hurry it was great and everything on the menu looked good, if you are able to stop in, you should do it, it will be worth your while. Get your kicks on Route 66!

Stopped in while driving on old US66. Aurelia’s diner is a gem tucked in among the usual franchise offerings. The help is very friendly and will accommodate special requests. I’m gluten allergic, and they adapted an enchilada plate into a delicious gluten free, very filling lunch. Refills are free and the vanilla pudding is a sweet conclusion to a filling, yet inexpensive meal!

The food was amazing. Made fresh. My husband had some of the best Mexican food he has had since leaving San Diego and I had a great sandwich and homemade fries. Danielle was the best and very attentive. Thanks for a wonderful eating experience.

Food was great, but service was not waitress was more into her phone than us the customers. The cook rang the bell 3 times before she moved he even came out and said the food been sitting there awhile. I will be back but not when that waitress is there. Again great food. 5 stars for food, 2 stars for that waitress. I usually tip good but didn’t leave any this time because no pudding.

Overall the experience was gross. When we first got to the waitress walked over to us with a cigarette in her hand. She also decided it was a good time to mop with bleach while our baby was sitting right there. The food was disgusting. I had obviously frozen sausage patties and undercooked sunny side up eggs. The place looked rundown. I would avoid if possible.

I went to basic training in South Carolina and had the pleasure of dining in an Army mess hall a good number of times there. One of the more memorable items was what they called«steak» which we were treated to on only a few special occasions but the other recruits and I jokingly stated that it wasn’t real steak but the remnants of the guys who didn’t ‘make it’. Ha ha. Aurelia’s steak and eggs immediately reminded me of those meals in lovely Ft Jackson which is where I think some of these other reviewers must be eating regularly to have given THISPLACE five stars! Having said all that, I would simply pass on this particular menu item and go for something a bit more general like a burger or something, keeping in mind that my review is based on just this one visit. Their more standard ‘diner’ fare may be decent but their steak was not. I personally won’t be trying anything else since my lousy steak and eggs told me all I need to know and, with an iced tea which also wasn’t very good, set me back $ 15. The eggs were fine and cooked exactly as I requested. The diners along hwy 66 aren’t likely to wow anybody but from my limited experience I will say there are better choices. If you are gluten free, don’t even look at this place.

We were passing thru Gallup on our way to CA and happened upon Aurelias. Its a tiny diner on old Route 66 decorated with memorabilia from the 50s and 60s. From the minute we walked in, we were happy. The owner, Michelle, came right over and started smiling and talking to us as if we had known her for years. The diner is cute and very clean. Immediately, we received water and a basket of chips with guacamole and salsa. The menu was extensive with more Mexican food than anything else. There are sandwiches and pasta and most anything you can think of. Breakfast is served all day. I had a chicken quesadilla. It was crispy, with all white grilled and shredded chicken with a lot of cheese. It came with home cut fries that were delicious. My husband had the breakfast burrito that had eggs, sausage and hash browns wrapped in a large tortilla. It came with round cut fried potatoes with several salsas of different hotness. After we were finished eating, we were brought small dishes of vanilla pudding with caramel sauce. My husband had one beer, and the entire bill was $ 20. Our tummies were full and happy. I would recommend Aurelia’s to whoever lives here or is passing through Gallup.

— Good, HOT chili. Is this what they call chili in NM??? Was just hot tomato sauce… — Old diner motif. — Free chips & salsa, guacamole. — Lots of locals. — Coke seemed watered down…

Good olé diner, clean and quirky. Our server was friendly, we had water, chips and salsa and guacamole in front of us within minutes of sitting down. Yeah, I know. It was surreal. Chips and salsa in a diner setting, what more could you want?! The chips were light and crispy, salsa and guac were fresh and spicy mmm mm! I ordered a chili rellenos. I’m not sure why, I never get that. I suppose I was in the Mexican mood, so I went for it. It was good, but I realized why I don’t get chili rellenos. I’m just not a fan. Still, it was satisfying. My friend ordered the breakfast burrito which he was happy with. Afters our plates were taken away, they were replaced with little cups of vanilla pudding, with sprinkles. No kidding! Cracked me up, but hey, it was some tasty pudding! The décor is interesting, plenty of interesting things on the walls to look at while waiting for your meal. Sit at a booth or at the counter, indoor or outdoor. Just overall a great little spot.

Great authentic diner with southwest twist. Ideal if traveling with dogs as there is some outside seating which we could not find anywhere else in the area. Staff very friendly and helpful.

I lied when I said Cocina De Dominguez had the only decent guacamole in town. I forgot that Aurelia’s not only has perfectly legit guacamole, but it’s FREE with chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal. Veg options: breakfast is tasty, OR order the Navajo Taco with no hamburger meat and red chile. The beans and frybread are both veg! The green chile, tragically not. Salsa: pretty good Chips: not stale, nice and salty. Downfall? Not open Sunday.
