Pros: 1) Room didn’t smell musty and wet, which is often a problem in Galveston 2) room was a decent size for the most part, had a table and chairs plus a little microwave, fridge(that we had to get them to fix) and coffee maker. 3) right across from a decent beach and fishing pier, not far from Moody Gardens. 4) Pool seemed clean and well kept 5) breakfast wasn’t expansive, but worked well enough for us 6) large tv 7) beds were pretty comfy for hotel beds but the blanket situation was a little odd 8) walkable to several restaurants Cons: 1) view from our room was terrible(a cemetery and a trash dumpster) 2) No way to walk next door to the grocery store… the whole side was totally blocked off from the street so what could have been a 2 minute walk is now a get in your car and drive 3) far, far too few handicap spaces for parking 4) rear elevator scared the hell out of us… sounded like we were going to plummet to our deaths — but a repair guy added some hydraulic fluid and it got better 5) My major problem with the room, especially for the price we paid, was the bathroom was little more than a closet. SUPER small and hard to use and the vanity is in the room itself so if you have an early riser who needs to use the bathroom everyone gets blasted from the light. 6) water pressure in the shower was disgraceful, even on the hard spray mode. Took forever to get rinsed 7) not nearly enough places to hang wet clothes to dry(no door hook in the bathroom, no retractable drying line in the shower) and since we had no balcony we had to either put things in the common hall and hope they don’t get stolen and let them try and dry in the room in the closet area. Basically, the hotel wasn’t terrible per se — but for the money we spent I was disappointed.
