Before I begin I need to explain something about myself. I am a hard core peruser. I’m not sure if that is even a legitimate word, but it fits me. When I visit a town, I like to wander down random streets and peruse shops that interest me. The Strand is Galveston’s version of Nola’s Magazine St. or Decatur Street if you are familiar with those places. Most of the shops are geared towards general tourists, but this one really called to me. As a dude who loves cool sharp stuff, this shop was right up my alley.
This shop had a great selection of pocket knives, but that wasn’t what interested me most. They also had an excellent selection of high end chef’s knives including what looked like the entire line of Shun cutlery. I have been wanting a Shun chef’s knife for a long time so being able to touch and drool over their line was quite fun. There was even a sale going on that day which tempted me so badly. To this day I still regret not making that purchase.
The staff here were very friendly and helpful. They were also very knowledgeable about the different brands and styles of knives. I encourage you to stop in here if you happen to be in Galveston.

Second time I’ve been to the shop. The ppl there are really knowledgeable and the lady behind the counter, Suzy (don’t know if she’s the owner or the manager) but she was super nice. She was even cool with letting my dog come in. I exchanged a Leatherman and also got a sweet knife. Will definitely be back next time I’m on the Island.
