Fun place for kids, decent but unspectacular food. Kind of high for what you get, I recently had the Cobb Salad for 16.99. We go about once a year and it’s enjoyable, My grand son likes the atmosphere and the ride down the«river». Typical Landry’s menu and food.

This place was packed! Of corse it’s Father’s Day! Our waitress was amazing so attentive. But the shining Star at this establishment had to of been Denzel! After our meal we took a ride in that safari attraction that they have which was really cool. On the ride our tube hit the side and my glasses fell off. Well Denzel went above and beyond to retrieve them and for that I am thankful! Denzel you saved the day!

We went with a group {total of 8}. We had an hour wait. We rode the ride, while we waited. $ 6 a person, 2 and under free. The ride was ok… it was a slow water ride. You sit in 6 seater chair and float thru the water checking out all the ‘rainforest’ animals. The service was good, and so was the food. The dessert?!! Was delicious! We got the chocolate indulgence. Oh my goodness! With 2 of us choosing down, we still couldn’t finish it. It was the BOMB! This is a fun place to visit from time to time with your kids. The kids enjoyed it! :)

Do not go here, especially if you have a large group. This was a terrible experience all around. The host staff was very rude and aggressive toward our party. Seating us and then telling us to get up because 1 in our party wasn’t there yet. Management was also rude to the point one in our party walked out. The wait staff was fine, but not enough to make up for everything.

This location is one the best locations in the chain. Food is excellent, staff is friendly, and prices are reasonable. Always clean with great family atmosphere. I’ve been coming here for five years and every time a manager makes time to check on my table no matter how busy it may be. It’s a must stop restaurant if you are hi siting Galveston.

It was fun, good food, great atmosphere, fair prices but not for anyone that wants to hear each other. It’s more of a place for kids, sure my grandkids would LOVE it.

I give 3 stars for the atmosphere only. The service is horrible. The food is just okay. You are really paying for the experience and ours was overpriced food for a cheap experience.

The wait time is a bit much, but I understand it’s for the experience. The atmosphere is a little loud so my husband and I couldn’t hear each other talking. Finally, we are Vegans and we ordered the flatbread with no cheese or pepperoni, but they still charged us the full amount. Our waiter was kind, though.

Fun place to visit with the kids but horrible service and worse food. Pros: + Outdoor volcano show is fun + Kids and dumb adults love the décor + The volcano desert is a kid favorite. It consists of warm brownies stacked around vanilla ice cream with a sparkler on top. + the boat ride is dumb but it’s free with your pleasure pier day pass. Not worth it if you have to pay a-la-carte. Cons: — Service from host desk is abysmal. Just as likely to never seat you as seat you when promised. I’ve seen a «1 hour wait» take as little as 15 mins and also had them completely forget I was waiting only to seat me immediately once I asked why it had been 2 hours. — The food is really not very good, and it’s 3x what it would cost anywhere else for comparable items. For example my regular order here is the fried coconut shrimp which is pretty hard to screw up. 70 percent of the time they do screw up and serve it with barbecue sauce or steak sauce instead of the marmalade. It costs $ 18 for 6 shrimp. — Wait staff is usually slow and unapologetic about it. However I have on occasion had decent service.

I wasn’t too excited about having it for lunch but decided to give it another try. I had the fish and chips and it was a good portion, it was just kind of greasy. We were able to order our drinks and food in the same sentence because it toon so long for our waitress to come over and ask us what we would be drinking and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant!!! I hate how loud this place is with the ridiculous noises and lights. It’s not in my top twenty favorite places to eat. It’s fun when I have my kids but as a business lunch? No thank you.

Took my 4 yo nephew. Acceptable for that age. He enjoyed the atmosphere and the ride. The ride was about 6 bucks a piece and worth it. I think 2 year and younger are free. We had an early lunch before the crowds showed up. Food was nothing wonderful but not terrible for a tourist trap. I had a cheeseburger and fries and the phew had a small pizza and fries with an ice cream sandwich for dessert. He was pleased that’s all that matters.

I was impressed by the atmosphere, but that’s about it. This is a awesome place to take your kiddos. The ride was fun. The drinks were overly priced & lacked flavor. We ordered slow cooked pork, guacamole burger & a kids pizza. The pork & burger were excellent but the kids pizza was uncooked, and the menu said it came with fresh fruit but it only came with a cut up orange :-/

The food was so good that we ate at the rainforest café twice during our visit to galveston. On our first visit, my daughter and I both ordered blackened fish tacos. The hostess was wonderful. We arrived on Sunday morning when the place was opening so we had it mostly to ourselves. The hostess asked if it was our first visit and explained everything. She turned the job of seating us into an adventure. We sat in the gorilla section and our server was great. She brought out the kitchen manager and he went over my daughter’s food allergies and the food was wonderful. We returned on Monday evening and the hostess seated us without asking questions or giving us a tour but again the server was wonderful. We were seated toward the front with a nice view of the elephants. Again the server brought out the kitchen manager and my daughter ordered the mushroom wrap and I ordered the chickpea burger. They were both delicious. My daughter tried to get me to order a dessert since it was my birthday trip, but I was too full from the delicious food. The server did want us to sign up for a Landry discount card but in Oklahoma the only options to use it are at a steakhouse and at Landry seafood. My diet is mostly plant based food. I eat fish occasionally for extra vitamins. My daughter doesn’t like fish usually, but she eats chicken. With her allergies of dairy and soy, she can’t eat anything at most restaurants so we don’t try new places often. The discount card would have been a waste of money for us because my husband(an omnivore) won’t use a coupon, but the server was pretty insistent and seemed disappointed when we didn’t sign up. I don’t like that kind of pressure when I’m enjoying a meal. Other than the card offer and seating, the meal was perfect. Oh, and both times a floor manager stopped at our table to make sure that everything was perfect. It was. Between the occasional tropical storm and animated animals it was a fun experience. We will definitely come back on our next trip.

I visited Rainforest Café while in town visiting my boyfriend’s family in TX. This place is intense but fun to say the least. Where else can you go where you can walk in to the sound of rain, gorillas, monkeys, elephants, lions and all other things rainforest?! Ha I’ve never been anywhere else like this before to say the least. This place is definitely a place for tourists but locals alike that have children and want them to be entertained while they dine. I noticed kids are surprisingly more likely to eat while listening to the sounds of these animals(at least the ones I was with that night) and awaiting the famous volcano. Interesting and note taken! Their food selection is pretty basic American items with some seafood. I had a burger and fries and my bf had the coconut shrimp. I will say the burger was definitely tastier than the coconut shrimp, but then again I come from California were shrimp and other seafood’s are in abundance :) Oh yeah I had a margarita which was very good and strong! probably the highlight of my order hehe and you get to keep the cool glass– score. We ordered the Volcano for dessert which is a tradition among my bf’s family and a must for the kids. The volcano is made up of a brownie pyramid filled with ice cream– it comes out with a sparkler on top which makes it a full experience. It’s definitely big enough to share for a family of 7! If you are looking for a fun entertaining place definitely your type of place. If you are looking for a nice romantic place– definitely not your type of place :)

We decided to get out of Houston one weekend and go to Galveston. We went to the Rainforest café. It was very no extremely crowded but it was ok we just wanted to chill as a family and walk around a bit anyway. It was very windy outside a big unpleasant because sand was flying everywhere. So our outdoor adventure was put on hold until the next day. We were finally seated and we ordered I was excited because I heard s lot about this restaurant and how good the food was. When our food came out we dug in. My food was cold. I asked my husband his was his he said it was hot but the children’s good was cold as well. I thought how could we have waited this long for food and it comes out cold. I was s bit irritated because the waitress was busy at other tables when she finally came to us We were all upset no refills cold food we were ready to go. We just got our food to go and warned it up later in the hotel room. Will we go back naaaaa I’m not sure probably only if we have someone’s kids with us. I hope this review was helpful have a gr8 day.

Service is very poor. We went in on Saturday night around 9:00PM and told there is a 45 minutes wait time, we said we will wait. I noticed lots of table inside was empty, I asked what is the wait for you have empty table. After 45 minutes we received a text to come in, and restaurant was 30% empty. On the way back I asked the manager, restaurant is 30% empty, than what’s the wait time. I been explained that they was running behind in kitchen, that’s why gust have to suffer for there inefficiencies. This is the first time in my life I heard that gust have to wait 45 minutes because cooks are slow. So they just play the games with gust, for wait time. Environment is real good. I saw the staff carrying the food and mishandling the gust food. Our server was nice and efficient. I had a Flat Iron Steak Combo. Food is just average food, but very pricey. 1-Steak Combo, 1– Salad, 1– Drink around $ 45 Only thing good is nice environment for kids. I am giving them 2 Stars because of Great environment for kids. Just telling you that you been warned.

This was my second or third time to come to this location In the past I felt the food was sub-par. The atmosphere was the catch. I wanted to take my grandkids for the experience. They loved it. My 2-yr old grandson absolutely LOVED the frog walking around. Finally, I was THOROUGHLY impressed with my meal. Macadamia nut encrusted tilapia with coconut shrimp and grilled veggies. The portions were large enough to split. Or take home. Highly recommend!!!

Never, ever again. Nope. Can’t pay me to go here. Okay, so let’s back up and talk about what’s good: the animatronic animals and the simulated rainforest sprinklers are kind of cool. That’s it. Nothing else good about the place. The wait to be seated was over an hour from the reservation stand. The wait in the bar was almost another hour. We finally get a table. Service is decent, waiter is friendly and has good personality. Food selection is limited and outrageously priced for what it is, and there is nothing really inspired or unique on the menu. The quality of the food? It sucked, quite frankly. I ordered a plate of nachos, figured I couldn’t go too wrong with them – I was so wrong. They were awful. They were so bad, in fact, I sent them back and asked for a manager to ask for a credit on them. I never do that. I seriously NEVER do that – and that’s how bad they were. No one else was impressed with their entrees either. Bland. Poorly cooked. Just not good. The dessert, the signature VOOOOOLLLLLLCANNNNNOOOOO! was all right. We shared it with four people and it was gooey and good. I’m not a big sweets person, so I really can’t get too excited about this ONE dish being good on the entire menu. Drinks at the bar were okay, but they were outrageously priced, even with the custom souvenir glasses and such. I thought the Rainforest ‘experience’ ride afterward might be fun and nice and make up for it, but honestly? Not really. It was short, some decent animatronics, but nothing that just amazed or bewildered or surprised or awed me. It was cool inside, and the ride was uneventful and some of it was okay(thus the one star – if not for the ride, the restaurant wouldn’t even warrant one star in my opinion)… but it could have been so much better. That said, I guess this place is really for tourists with young kids. I’m neither a tourist nor do I have young children any more. My kids enjoyed it well enough and they were teens/young adults when we went, but they probably would have loved it as kids. And since that’s the target market, and I’m neither, take that with a grain of salt. If you have an elementary school aged child, he or she would probably love this place. Seriously, love it, and the food even seems catered to kids too – and mom and dad? you can get drunk at the bar and that might get you through the meal with the constant gorillas growling and the rain and thunder going off every 15 minutes or so and the waiters and waitresses screaming every time someone orders the signature dessert… … oh, and the sparklers. Don’t forget the burned smell of the sparklers. yeah. No.
