This is a good shop to get a sweet treat on The Strand if La Kings or Hey Mikey’s doesn’t strike your fancy. They have a variety of chocolate desserts like fudge, chocolate-covered apples, and truffles, most of which is made there. They are expensive for a quick snack, though, because of the brand and its location. The staff is not always the friendliest and we’ve heard former workers complain about how little they were paid. But it looks like a new batch of employees so I would hope they do better about serving customers now. It’s a small shop and can be packed in the summer, so prepare for a line and busy place. But they do have a few benches and tables outside of their shop for a place to rest and eat if you can manage to snag a seat.

The best chocolate shop in Galveston! The staff is very courteous! Some of the best candied apples and fudge around. Definitely a must if you are in Galveston!

Definitely going to become a regular at this place. I love chocolate and it’s located right on The Strand! My girlfriend and I stopped in to get some sweets and we walked out with two truffles, a chocolate-covered strawberry, and some peanut butter chocolate chip rice crispies. Everything was very good. The best was probably the chocolate-covered strawberry, but the Amarillo truffle and the Red Velvet truffle were great too. I am excited to go back and try some of the candied apples and more of the truffles.

The decadent smells of this place lured me in to see what they had to offer. I saw wonderfully looking candied apples and a large roll of chocolate fudge sitting on a large piece of marble. Mouth watering I had to purchase some. I bought the caramel and snicker covered candy apples and some chocolate and walnut fudge. The candy apple was tasty and the fudge was ok. It has a muddled taste and was mushy.

I’m a huge fan of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, so when we found it while touring the shops in Galveston, we had to get some chocolate covered gummy bears! While viewing their cases, we found a really huge fly inside! When we told the employee(a blond chick), she seemed reluctant to take it out. Disgusting! In addition, she was pretty rude when placing our orders for our chocolates. Instead of asking something along the lines of «what else can I get for you?», it went more like«is that all?» or «anything else?» without a smile or welcoming personality. Like I said, I’m a big fan so I know the chocolate is good. but La Kings was friendlier and their chocolate was good as well.

lots of chocolate! Period… excellent selection of caramel apples and did I mention chocolate… there is lots. I think they have some cream there too… but CHOCOLATE… word…and it was all good– I had espresso beans, daughter had caramel apple, son had the chocolate dipped twinkie and oldest daughter had some cream… wife had some dark chocolate yumminess. over all a hit… no real internal seating so on a hot day… you are melting your goodies off… that is why the 4 star… enjoy

Dryers ice cream on a fresh hot waffle cone. Doesn’t get better than that! We didn’t have any chocolate today but I will be back for one of those apples they look amazing Only a couple of tables to sit at inside but not a problem tonight.

This place isn’t terrible, but it’s not anything to write home about. The prices are kind of ridiculous, in my opinion, and the employees made me feel rushed when I was trying to decide on my treats. The chocolate was delicious and they had some caramel apples that looked amazing, but the prices of everything were a turn off. Especially since La Kings right down the street has most of that stuff and more for cheaper with friendlier employees, more seating and a better ambience.

There was a gentleman making fresh caramel in the store front and was so sweet and friendly with my nephews. He went out of his way to invite us into the shop and talk to us. The caramel apple we brought was sliced in store so that we all could share it without making a huge mess. Absolutely will be back here the next time we are in Galveston!

Chocolate is so delicious especially at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!!! First timer, filled with a variety of different kinds of chocolate from dark chocolate to white chocolate, you name it. Your going to feel like a kid again and always wanting to be coming back for more. You know you definitely want to try some of this and bring some back home. If you happen to be in Galveston, Texas stop on by and come in :)

The chocolate truffles are soooo good, but also so expensive. If you’re wanting ice cream I believe they have a small selection of Blue Bell, but I’d skip the cone because last time I came by the cones were super stale. Haven’t tried any of their caramel apples, but they sure do look pretty! Last time I checked they also carried a few pet friendly treats! So cute. Still a good spot to stop if you’re strolling the strand. I’d go here just for chocolates personally. There’s a couple tables inside and a few outside as well. Plus it’s fun to check out the pretty desserts while beating the heat for a bit.
