Lots of choices on the menu, from burgers and dogs, to an amazing Greek salad. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. Service was friendly and quick. Prices were reasonable. We really our lunch here!

We ate here this last weekend. I ordered 2 burger combos, a hotdog, chilli cheese fries and a scotch egg combo. The bun for the hotdog was stale, the burger patties had good seasoning but were overcooked and very dry. The scotch egg tasted good but the fresh potato chips that was served with it were suppose to be seasoned with salt and vinegar which it seems they forgot because I didn’t taste any. Scotch eggs should be served with fresh cut thick fries, aka chips! Which is what I though I would be getting. Everyone left full but lacked any satisfation. I personally would not return.

Got the bacon cheeseburger and fries.
Darn good old school burger and fries plate.
Juicy flavorful burger. Crispy seasoned fries.

Move over Spot! My cheese burger was perfect! I had wedge fries which were cooked the way I like them and there were a lot of them. I like that I could choose either fries or onion rings for no additional cost. Clean and nice atmosphere.

I live down the street and I’m thrilled to have a great burger place nearby. A tad noisy but I’ve eaten there twice, burgers both times, and I’m impressed. Fresh meat. Good crust to the burgers and juicy inside. Like another reviewer I had every intention of taking half home for later but that didn’t quite work out.

This location has had a very hard time these last several years. Charlie’s pretty much ruined the reputation that it once had: for good reason.
Today I decided to give the new ownership one more try.
First, don’t expect the pricing to reflect a business that is trying to rebuild the communities business. It is fully priced like it was located on the seawall or the Pier.
However, having said that, the Cheese Berger was well prepared and presented.
The frys we fresh and well cooked.
Over all, i have to give them a good rating.

Read about this place in a Galveston blog last night. Great review, so excited to try.
I got a cheeseburger with onion rings, my daughter got 2 mini burgers with fries.
Great burgers: fresh meat, hand-​formed had crispy edges and good juiciness. I didn’t want to eat the entire burger, but couldn’t stop lol.
My daughter had the same comments about her mini burgers.
The rings and fries were great, too. Crunchy yet not greasy. Cleaned my plate!
Looking forward to breakfast there this weekend!

They put Charlies to rest. Now come on by and try the best at the Driftwood Café. They have a new and improved menu. In my opinion it’s the best Burger you can get on the island. Come surf on in and give them a try you won’t be disappointed.
