It’s pretty good. Yes it’s in a gas station but most gems are always hidden. Very clean and food is cooked to order and taken out the fridge in front of you.

3 words, royal kabab combo, tasty!!! Friendly employees. It’s all about the food. Yes, the restaurant is attached to a gas station, who cares. Kill two birds with one stone, but definitely get your kabab fix!

I have eaten Indian food from Devon Ave in Chicago to the streets of Mumbai and I tell you, I love the food in this pit stop. Have faith and a good appetite.

I’m not going to lie, I held off on trying this place for a long time because of its location. However, it is the BEST Indian restaurant in the area. I always get the chicken tikka masala and my husband gets the vindaloo. It is a much better value than Namaste and food is better too. If they delivered, it would be absolutely perfect. Don’t let the location deter you!

First of all yes this place is in a gas station but the food makes up for it, so far I’ve tried the butter chicken and lamb and beef kabob and chicken tikka. All of that was good and I’ll definitely come back for more!

This is a hidden gem I’d you are looking for really good and authentic Indian food. It is actually inside a BP station but the food is awesome! The prices are reasonable and I now visit this place once a week for the Tandoori Chicken.

It’s good food for what it offers, don’t let its location fool you. However a few things… call ahead to make sure they have some of their menu items, particularly the masala chai and the samosa chaat(some of the best samosa chaat I’ve ever had, and I’m a well-traveled Pakistani). The food is tasty, but the texture of the kabobs can be hit or miss. It’s often tough and chewy, so I’m not sure what some people are saying about it being amazing or the best. The dishes which have masala or salan(«curry» if that’s what you call it) are very watery with not a lot of meat, but good flavor. This place has a tandoori oven, so I expect better from them. Tandoori meats should never be tough or chewy, but crisp and soft. Masalas and salans(«curries») should not be lakes in and of themselves in the takeaway containers, and a little more generosity with the meat would be great. On the other hand, you won’t ever find something bad tasting and you’ll be satisfied, and you’ll probably come back more often than you’d expect, especially for the samosa chaat(seriously)!

Don’t be discouraged that the restaurant is in a gas station — this place will blow your mind! I always order #13 chx tikka masala and have never been disappointed. The sauce is so rich in flavor and spice, I haven’t been able to find anything close in comparison in the area. The chicken is straight of the kabob and grilled to perfection, definitely not dry! Give this place a shot! The only reason why I give them a 4⁄5 is because they do not deliver. If they opened that option, I’m almost positive their market would grow!

Some of the best Indian food I have ever had. Easily top 3, and I have traveled the world. For people who don’t like spicy food; this is a great place to try. Anyone who buys from the subway right next to this place is a sucker! The staff is also very helpful. By far best gas station food ever!

Add me to the list of people who have driven by this place several times without even knowing it exists. Indian food at a gas station, sounds pretty sketchy, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not, but there are some things you need to know… The place looks like an empty/failed serving line. There are stainless steel food counters, all of which were completely empty. The whole place looked closed down for the day. Maybe it looks different during weekdays. When I walked in there was no one tending the Royal Kabab counter. I figured the Subway people did double duty for both places. As I stood there for at least 5 minutes in the Subway line waiting for the people in front of me to order, I kept looking at the Royal Kabab menu. Just when it was my turn, someone came out of the Royal Kabob kitchen, making me realize the Subway and Royal kabab are separate entities. There is a bell on the counter for service, which blends in with other random items on the counter. From what I saw the bell is needed. The people who tend the counter are rarely outside of the kitchen, even when the place is empty. I brought my 3 year old along with me. The only kid’s options were chicken tenders or shrimp. He might be able to do shrimp, but without knowing how they would be prepared(heads on or off; method cooked, etc.) I didn’t want to take the chance. Imagine my surprise when they checked and told me they didn’t have any chicken tenders available. Boo! Neither person spoke much English. The first person that helped me didn’t say a word, while the second one was extremely difficult to understand. We finally managed to work things out, but it was very tough reaching an understanding. The food was good, but as others have hinted a tad overpriced. For a Chicken Tikka Masala it was about $ 11. There were about 5 pieces of chicken, a ton of sauce, a small salad, and a side plate of naan. Personally I don’t care that it was served on a paper plate with plastic utensils(even though I wish it was more Eco-friendly), but I’d rather pay the $ 15 for the Namaste buffet and fill myself silly with all you can eat portions. I gave this place a chance to be included in my go to places for Indian food, but sadly there were too many drawbacks taking away from the food. Maybe if they could get their act together, this would be a better place for customers.

You walk in through a gas station convenience store. Sit down, and to one side you’ll see motor oil, soda and candy. There’s a fast food sandwich joint behind you. On the humble paper plates in front of you? The best Indian/Bangladeshi food I’ve had in Maryland. Hands down. Completely reasonable prices. Just satisfying, authentic food. Have the Samosa Chat… best described as Indian nachos. The Royal Kabab Combo is a taste of three varieties. We also had the Malai combo and a side of chickpeas, Chana masala. Yes, it’s surreal to park at a gas station to eat such fantastic food. But go. Just go.

I would give Royal Kabob 7 stars if I could. This is the best Indian food I’ve ever had despite it being located in a gas station(don’t knock it until you try it!) I don’t even know where to start. They have the best rice, I’ve ever had, their service is prompt and very polite, they’re buffet is an awesome deal. I could go on and on. My husband always orders the Tandoori Lamb and I always order Lamb Curry. This is the only Indian restaurant I will spend money on, it’s worth every penny!

Yes it’s at a gas station but when my husband has a hankering for Indian, this is where I go! Plus there’s a Subway inside so I can get my extremely picky son a sandwich!

Cheap, perfectly flavored, great Indian food from a gas station. Not much more to say, the food has been great and at half the cost of a sit-down restaurant. It’s very surprising to find this food so tasty.

Wow! I have passed this place a million times but would never have stopped if not for the amazing reviews. And I have to add to them. It was simply outstanding. Better than many Indian restaurants in places like Georgetown, and far better prices. We had the chicken tikka masala and OMG it was so creamy and delicious! The naan was some of the best I’ve ever had. Yes it’s in a BP Gas Station but there is a separate area for this restaurant with plenty of seating. Very clean and professional. They guys working here could be friendlier and less sullen, but I think it’s more of a language barrier than rudeness, and the food is too good to ding them for that. I can’t wait to go back and try other dishes, and get a double portion of naan! If you get food from the Subway that shares their counter instead, shame on you!

Don’t let the fact that this place is located inside of a gas station steer you clear. I had the chicken Tikka masala. Flavor was good. It was more watery than I am use to but again, the flavor was great. The mint chutney was also good… Naan was yummy… soft and warm just like Naan is suppose to be. The dinner comes with the entrée, Naan, chutney and salad. $ 11

My boyfriend loves this place. He was hesitant to introduce me to Royal Kabob because it’s in a gas station. But let me tell you the Chicken Tika Masala is amazing. Thanks for the Naan so delicious. Fresh and spiced just right. Thanks Babe. Channing’s Choice.

Four stars for the food and service! I keep coming back despite the location, ambiance, and styrofoam plates. But damn it is so tasty and sometimes that’s all I need after a long day at work. I usually get the tandoori shrimp or gobi manchurian. I love to take out-of-towner friends(and dates, too) here because they’re always surprised at how good the food is at such an understated location. It’d be great if they’d expand into a stand alone restaurant of their own but I think that would detract from the fact that this is one of Crofton’s «best kept» secrets.
