Since my last review, this place has consistently disappointed, both in product and professionalism. I stopped at Safeway this morning I actually wanted to juice this week and recommit to eating healthy and it was a waste of a trip! Allllll the produce was bad. Cucumbers were all old and soft and wrinkled and the bags of kale were even sorry. I wanted to grab pears to munch on instead, but pears were abysmal — bruised, broken, and old. Said«Forget it» and went to get Kevita instead and they only had two gross flavors. Dang! My husband does most of the grocery shopping has had to deal with their nonsense here even more, things like closing when it clearly was supposed to be open and employees being rude about it like he was stupid. Uhhh… It’s 24 hours! There are lots of young employees and management who appear to be clueless about their store and product and expect us to be as well. The biggest thing has been lack of stocked items, ESPECIALLY produce and yogurt or ANYthing healthy. He asked where Kombucha was and they sent him to Int’l foods TWICE, saying they didn’t even carry it when they clearly do(it’s in the produce section in case you are reading staff). Total waste of space. We now drive to Bowie to go to the Safeway there. Ridiculous we have to drive miles away when there is one right here, but the service there is heads above this location and they are always stocked. Save yourself a headache and just drive down the road.

Not a bad store… But, just not me. I don’t like the parking lot. I really don’t care for the high prices either. Checkout lines are always long… I go here when I need to… Otherwise I do not.

I am from the midwest… this place looked like Baker’s. Very nice inside. Seemed upscale to me. Organized well. And the staff were very nice. Clean. I liked that the store is dimly lit. Instead of the bright, bright Wal-Mart. Not sure if most of the reviews are negative. I didn’t not go to any other grocery stores other than Wal-Mart… so not sure if the other grocery stores are just extremely night and this is the least nice… doubt it tho. I drove past several other stores that were not half as nice on the outside so I couldn’t imagine that the inside would be a gem. I did not find the prices to be super overpriced. If I lived here, I’d probably do my shopping here!

stopped in for milk, bread and a late-night snack. Always well lit and the shelves are always full.

Their produce is sub-par and so is their deli meat. The Giant and the Wegmans in Crofton are both far superior. The prices aren’t even that great. And it is worth noting that for some reason every time I do go here(only out of convenience), they are very busy and seem understaffed.

Why is this Safeway so dimly lit? Is it to hide the fact that they shelve some of the saddest looking produce in the area? Is it to discourage customers from taking a good look at their overpriced, understocked items? Perhaps to give the whole store an undeservedly pretentious atmosphere? You can get the same things at Shoppers down the street for less, and you don’t even need a loyalty card. And where is the discounted day-old bread? I thought that was standard practice among grocery stores… One of the few redeeming qualities is that there is always ample parking and the folks at the deli will happily give you a sample upon request.

Ordered an Amazing Spiderman cake for my son’s birthday. Not only did the stoner behind the counter give me the wrong Spiderman cake topper, there were pieces of the packaging baked into the cake. I’m never going here again.

The deli and produce sections are the only reason I continue to shop at this location. The store is blah in general — narrow aisles with a minimal selection of EVERYthing. I find the cashiers at this Safeway to be unfriendly, unsmiling, and unprofessional. I don’t need a hug when I’m checking out but damn… at least say hello or respond when EYE say hello. The only cashier that doesn’t seem to have a chip on their shoulder is the self-checkout attendant. I can’t WAIT for Wegman’s to open in Waugh Chapel South. When it does, this Safeway will soon be forgotten.

I only go here for the Starbucks, and the service there is adequate. The last pumpkin spiced latte I got was not good. Again, the service is good, they are friendly, and fast. Plenty of parking once you navigate all the cross walks in the shopping center. They accept gift cards.
