I LOVEBUILD-A-BEAR! What’s more fun than stuffing your own bear and dressing it up to your specifications! Love all there options, from characters like hellow kitty to all the accessories like party dresses, super hero outfits, sports outfits, and career outfits! What do you need a purse, sunglasses, a hat, a sleeping bag, a bed, a closet, a cell phone, shoes with heels, sparkle sneakers… and dont forget the boys… super hero and sports complete costumes… batman has a foam muscle chest, just like the halloween costume! Okay now this location… not the best. Employees dont seem to enthusiastic at the stuffers, the ones working the floor helping you find stuff are pretty good, but the cashiers and managers… what is the problem??? Listen, there is only ONE build a bear… trust me, we will be back here. These little things add up… give us a break! Act like you want us to shop there! I cant stand it when stores are so unwelcoming! Asking for donations or asking you to buy gift cards, but dont try to show them on online discount code… they will shut you down! Left your coupon home, when your a CLUBMEMBER… too bad for you! I had to wait 15 minutes for them to check the price of a display item that didnt have a tag, didnt mind because we were still shopping, but when i get to the register, i tell her… its $ 5, the guy standing next to you checked(he was having another issue at his register). She didnt want to interupt him so she turns and asked the manager…“the manager says he checked it rite?” I said yes… he said $ 5…the manager didnt even acknowlegde me, my cashier said«i’m not sure» They both continue to ignore me and stay stairing at the dude that price checked it, as he was handleing another issue, so being that i couldnt stay there ALLNIGHT waiting for the lady next to me to resolve her issue. I did something CRAZY… i said«EXCUSEME… CANYOUTELLHERTHEHATIS $ 5, BECAUSE I WOULDLIKETOGO»…crazy ish i tell you… saying excuse me… who would of thought of it! And let me make sure i say… the hat was $ 5…just like most of there other hats!!! Nothing off because it was a dusty display… not that i even got to ask… just wanted to leave. Im really shocked at the way the staff behaves at RF… i worked in a temporary flagship build a bear store in rockerfeller center… standards where WAAAAAAY higher and DARE some kid manager treat the clientel like that… with no respect… that would not have happened at that location!

I adore BAB. This is the only BAB, I go to. And trust me I am a regular BAB costumer. I got my first one here when I was a kid, and have come back multiple times for new outfits and shoes. Once I got to high school I came back to buy a bear for my conductor, then another for myself! As a college freshman I bought one for a going away gift for my best friend and another mate. Always the staff was sweet, caring, helpful. They did not even ridicule me for being a nineteen year old still buying BAB things! Each time they treated me like I was a kid. And some times even forced me to do the heart routine. The staff here is wonderful! When I had come to get the bear for my best friend, I had actually ended up sobbing like a baby in the store and the staff cried with me and gave me tissues! Amazing service! They always send out coupons and become a member to get even more coupons. I spent 50 dollars on my first bear(Well, my mum did.). That’s the average for a child’s bear. Every kid wants all the accessories and what not. But for us adults gifting other adults, the average for a well dressed bear with one trinket is 20 – 30 bucks.

This is a wonderful and different way to keep your child occupied for a couple of hours. Located in the Roosevelt Field Mall next to JC Penney’s, it’s the same concept as the Vermont Teddy Bear Company but a couple of steps down in the quality. You would think something like this should not take more than a ½ hour at tops to get through, but there’s actually a whole process that your child partakes in with his/her bear. First, you get to pick out the bear from among maybe 10 different types/styles and PRICES! Anywhere from $ 10 — $ 25 for the bear alone. Next is the stuffing area. Pick out the bear’s heart and the staff puts it in your bear, then starts to stuff it until it becomes nice and plump. Then you get to the bathing area where the bear gets«cleaned» up. Just be careful with the type of bear your child picks out and how he/she grooms it because my little one chose a hairy type bear and proceeded to brush the sh*t out of it, pretty much destroyed the poor little thing and got hysterical. But, they were extremely nice and let her pick out another one, free of charge. Then comes the best part, the choice of the outfit(s) AND accessories for the bear. Dresses, bathing suits, sportswear, tops/pants and more. You can also buy the bear shoes, necklaces, sunglasses, toys, it’s own car or bed, Ipods, etc. Last but not least, which is actually alot of fun, your child creates the bears Birth Certificate in the computer, choosing it’s gender and naming it. Finally, its check out time and your child’s new friend is put into a cute little box, complete with airholes and a window. There is also a changing area if your child should choose to dress his/her bear before you leave. The whole Build-A-Bear experience for everyone is just total fun. After all is said and done, yes, this can turn into a rather expensive afternoon, but, the smile on your child’s face is «priceless».
