We order from Joey’s regularly and have sampled quite a bit of the menu. We always come back to the sandwiches, though. Phillies and subs are all incredible. The staff is always friendly on top of being patient and accurate with special orders. Our absolute FAVORITE menu item is the Quaker Fries. The combination of cheez whiz & gravy sounds pretty gross, but when once you try it, you’ll have to have it all the time!

I just up by and unfortunately this location is closed down. The only negative that I had with this place was they would not make the 76er that was on the menu. They were always conveniently out of it.

Great food and service. Very friendly staff, and the hoagies are famous for a reason let me tell you! Pretty cheap too, got food for me and a friend for less than 20 $ and were stuffed! Definitely recommended

Paid a visit tonight to get pizza for the family, worst pizza we have ever had! Little Caesar’s is GOD compared to this place! We ordered a Florentine pizza and just a regular pepperoni pizza. The Florentine pizza is a white pizza and it is described like this sliced chicken breast with sauteed spinach and our slow roasted garlic butter sauce. Sounds good right??? Absolutely no flavor not even salt and parmesan on top gave it any more flavor. The chicken was very sparse, the spinach was not sauteed it was just globbed on and cold as it was added after the pizza cooked. And what garlic butter sauce? There was no garlic flavor what so ever! The cheese was hardened like it sat while our other pizza cooked, I think they can only cook one pizza at a time. The pepperoni pizza had maybe ten pepperoni and half of it was missing cheese. The worst part was it was expensive and a large is the size of a medium at any other pizza place out there. My kids aren’t picky in the least they eat everything and they wouldn’t eat this pizza. I didn’t know pizza could be this bad! They should stick to cheese steak sandwiches only, those are actually good. Stay away from the pizza!

This is a small, convenient carry-out/dine-in restaurant that serves a decent Philly Steak sub. When I ordered a cheese steak with onions and Cheese Whiz, it came very quickly and was decently priced. I would have wished the meat had a little more crispness from the flat top. The onions were soft and well done and the cheese was exactly as it should be on this type of sandwich. The bread was fresh, but I would have wished for even a slightly crisper crust to it, but I did take mine home, so it could have been an issue on my end. Overall, I feel that the ingredients were right, but I would have preferred just a little more caramelization and melding of the flavors. If I was in the area, I would stop again and give it another try because I do enjoy steak sandwiches.

I use to be a fan… NOMORE. Ordered a cheese steak last night w/extra cheese & mayo. Hardly any cheese, let alone extra. I Added the damm mayo. This isn’t the first time either. FOUL. Peace Joey

What do you get when you have to stay late for work then are slapped in the face with an hour + commute home because the roads are so bad? VERYLITTLEMOTIVATIONTOMAKEDINNER. My husband and I whined about not making dinner and how very few places deliver besides pizza. We turned to our trusty Unilocal app and Joey’s Famous Philly Cheesesteaks to the rescue! We placed our order: Me: The 76-er. Steak, provolone, onions, and garlicky broccoli rabe Him: The Classic Cheesesteak with American And we split a side of waffle fries– we couldn’t help ourselves. In about 40 minutes(major props to the driver delivering our food especially the way the roads were) our dinner arrived. While the cheesesteaks weren’t steaming hot(expected) they were delicious! I loved the 76-er the tender flavorful meat mixed with the broccoli rabe was delicious. I will agree with Liz W. in the provolone department, I like mine a little sharper. Still delicious none the less. My husband loved his cheesesteak as well. I think we will try to dine in as much as possible to devour the sandwiches while they are super hot– but delivery last night was amazing. Will definitely be returning!

My friend had a craving for cheesesteaks one day and I hadn’t had much experience with them. So he suggested Joey’s for dinner. Since then, I have frequented this place for the delicious authentic philly cheesesteaks. The buns are imported from Amoroso’s and the sodas and chips are also Philly favorites. I reccomend the Frank’s black cherry wishniak. Also if it’s available I reccomend trying the Chelsie. If you go anywhere for cheesesteaks in southeast Michigan, check out Joey’s for sure.

I must say i was stuck between 3 and 4 stars on this one. The Negative: My cheesesteak was a little too soggy for my liking, The Cajun cheese fries with whiz was OK, nothing special(fries would be better by itself), meat was blah to me, etc. The Positive: nice Philly flavor with the décor, a huge menu, wings were pretty good(had hot buffalo garlic and sweet Thai), amorose roll is excellent, and to me this has potential to be a 5 star place. the only reason why i am going with three stars rite now is the the negative did in case out weight the good, but trust i will be back and i will update.

Service is always great and usually the sandwiches are too, but I was so disappointed with today’s experience. Bad so bad when you are craving something and drive a distance and then are so disappointed. The sandwich was LAMEO. Our bread was cold and dry. One half of my sandwich had bits of meat/onion and a whole lot of cheez whiz and bread. For $ 8 not at all worth it. The meat seemed dry and something was missing. Perhaps when you order the 12 inch they just give you more bread and thinly spread out the fillings… My husband complained about the meat/bread too, but his sandwich was at least popping with filling and not just loaded with cheese… It will be awhile before I return.

Went back with a 7 sandwich order from work for lunch and every sandwich was made perfectly! The staff was very friendly, and told us next time they’d even deliver for us. I had the«Death By Cheesesteak, Whiz Wit + ‘Shrooms. All I can say is EXCELLENT! Without going to Philly, you’re not going to find a better cheesesteak anywhere nearby!

Best cheesesteak, in the cheese whiz category, that I’ve had this side of Philly. We looked at the Unilocal mobile app for nearby restaurants while driving down Middlebelt and saw the Joey’s Cheesesteak listed and decided to give it a try. Had a little confusion with the different selections, but settled in on a special and a Cheesesteak wit, with provolone and mushrooms. We ordered a regular family size fry and had more then we could handle and took about half home. There’s not much of an eat in area, but I like to have my Cheesesteak while it’s still hot and not too mushy. Good sandwich and fries though 4 stars.

Being a native from Philly; I’m a little bias when it comes to my cheesesteaks. That said, I have to say that I am fairly impressed with my visit to Joey’s; by far the best sandwich I’ve had here in Michigan; that is when I’m not making them at home… The rolls are what really make the sandwich, they’re truly a Philadelphia hoagie roll… Overall this place is good, the prices are in-line with what you’d expect to pay in Philly for the same items. I can’t wait to go back and try some other things on their menu. The only thing that could make this place better would be if they had a better eat-in area like Jim’s Steaks in Philly and they should also carry cold beer! Be sure to stop in and have a traditional Philly Cheesesteak«wit» wiz and a side of cheese fries; you won’t be disapointed…

I stopped by today and it was okaaaaay… The people there were super nice and it was clean and neat. I got a half cheesesteak«wit» onions and american cheese and an order of mozz cheese sticks. The cheesesteak was okay, I actually didn’t finish it. The bread is too doughy and dense for me. I prefer a softer bun. The meat was tender and the cheese was melty, but it had a flavor that I didn’t like. I can’t pick out what it is, but I’ve had it on other steak sandwiches and it just sort of ruins it for me. I realize that’s vague, but it’s true. The cheese sticks were good and the ranch side was ample. Overall it was good. I’d go back and give it another whirl in hopes for another star.

My favorite of the three Joey’s locations, and a lot of that has to do with the family that runs the place(because the food tastes the same at all three, really). Friendly and very efficient. We always get the Cheesesteak Special, which has onions, mushrooms and two types of cheese(remember to ask for hot peppers!). We split the 12″ so we can also get Deep Fried Pickles, Onion Rings, and Ken can have some Wings(Old Bay flavor gets a bit much as you go, so try doing half with OB dry rub and half with a wet sauce). Because everything is breaded and/or cheesed up it is difficult for me to want to eat here as often as Ken would like… but I’d recommend it as a special treat. Liz W mentions the seating is better here, and, while I agree, the table area gets pretty cold in the winter because it’s right by the door. I would recommend eating in or taking out if you live close because everything will get soggy if you have to travel far before partaking.

Holy Mother of GOD! The cheese… the bread… the meat… I am still full from my late lunch… eight hours ago. I just couldn’t stop eating all twelve meaty inches. Yeah, that sounds suspect, but it’s effing good. And I’d eat another one if you put it in front of me right now.(A cheesesteak, sicko.)

Being trapped on Middlebelt the other day has led to interesting discoveries. One being that Joey’s Famous Philly has opened an outlet in Garden City. I had tried them before and had been meaning to try them again but the other locales are a hike. This one is actually semi-convenient for us. I also like that they have three comfy tables(as opposed to two small booths at the Southgate locale) to enjoy your sub at as they are best fresh. Having tried an Italian type sub and not enjoyed it my first visit, I was smarter this time and went with the specialty, cheesesteak. Good call of course. The meat is tender and in meaty chunks rather than shaved or diced up. The bread is soft and dense. The sweet peppers and onions were flavorful and happy. The hot pepper relish was perfection, a must for me. My provolone pick was a bit bland, not the sharp stuff you get in Philly, that would be the only miss to this tasty creation. My husband was in bliss however with his American and cheese whiz combo that came on his cheesesteak special. He had to 86 the mushrooms of course but it came out just as he loves. He also got some merely ok cheese fries covered in whiz which he liked but I thought were overkill. We grabbed a two liter pop and they nicely gave us cups. The staff overall was very on the ball and friendly. We were the only people dining in but they had a hopping stream of carryouts to deal with and were handling it all well. We will be back. I have to come try some cherry pepper shooters at any rate.
