I’m a brand new beard owner and was very nervous about getting it cut for I have some not so filled in areas but otherwise and overall healthy beard. I called two weeks in advance to have an appointment for the day before a wedding I was going to. The barber was on time and seated me at my time and asked what I was looking for. I just wanted to look clean. Nice crisp lines not long on the sides, «meaty» and full down on my chin. He guided me through what would look best and how beards are to be cut. After my okay, he went on to the cut. I have never been more taken care of with a haircut than this. From the hot towel and professional products he was using in my beard, it was amazing. It took about a half an hour or so and afterwords I looked great. My beard was exactly as I pictured it and wanted it to be. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for and I got magnificent treatment. It was a pleasure and will most definitely be returning to continue my beard care. They also carry a pretty decent assortment of all sorts of beard products, hair care products and of course shaving equipment. An excellent way to treat yourself or gift idea for that bearded fellow in the family/significant other. A big thanks to The Art of Shaving.

So after all this time of years & years of shaving my head/face with these store bought«for men 3 in 1» shower/shave products — boy was I dead wrong. That’s not how you shave! I’ve always passed by this store & other of its locations & thought to myself — what a money Making crock of…, because for years I’ve been doing it my way and I’ve never cut myself or anything. Until one day, my world was turned upside down. My cousin who has the whole Line-up tells me to try it, a little hesitant I did try it. WOW! What an amazing shave this product provides. Enough about me… This store is a little small & can get cramped but that ok. I know what I want– I don’t play around. Give me the Lexington series brush & razor & stand please! Thank you! They offer a wide variety of razors. From Old fashioned straight edge to Gillette compatible razors. They even sell Gillette blades in the store. I dealt with Tyrone, friendly & amazing guy. Very helpful & knowledgable. I tell him what I want & he started to wrap it up. I then implied about the full size pre shave oil(which I thought was a hoax, meanwhile it actually works. Makes a great pre shave prep to the face/head) the full size Shaving cream & full size after lotion. He was telling me there is a package that we can work out. Turns out the stand i wanted to hold my razor & brush was sold out — Tyrone’s co-worker Joe come over & offered me the Stand I wanted from the floor model w/a discount & some free product. WRAP ITUP! SOLD! Thank you so much Tyrone & Joe! 2 great guys! The product is well worth it! They even offer haircuts/shaves from the barber on premises. I might have to reserve a seat one day.

I only really use three of their products, but I am hooked on them. I have sensitive skin, and I use colognes that are powerful… so I hate to use scented toiletries because they irritate me and just mixes up the cologne smell. The Unscented Pre-Shave Oil and the Unscented Shaving Cream are phenomenal. I initially thought that Pre-Shave Oil was just another gimmick to get more of my money. It’s not. If you’re skeptical… just try it once. Trust me, you’ll see, and feel, the difference. The third item I use is the Unscented After-Shave Balm. This product is unique because unlike other after-shaves it does not leave your face feeling, or looking, greasy. Heads up: These three products are pricier than your run-of-the-mill brands, but definitely worth it.

There is a place in Rockefeller Center, E-Shave that I bought a razor, shaving cream, sterling silver razor stand, shaving brush, pre shave oil, everything! I need more shaving cream and last week I wasn’t in Midtown. I am in «LOVE» with Roosevelt Field Mall!(Who woulda thunk they had a historic thing happen here? Hell, pave paradise and build a parking lot!) I find in my travels«The Art of Shaving» and tell the saleswoman about my E-Shave items. Oh yeah she says, the owners are related and ventured separately. Wowza! Razors along with the Hatfields and McCoys? I like the cucumber shaving cream blend, its cool during the summertime and it has a nice scent. My salesperson says, we don’t have that scent but try something similar instead. Oh your good saleslady!(Actually, she was kinda cute now that I think about it) I’ll take it! She also tells me there is a barber on staff just like E-Shave if I need a shave. Well that’s good to know. Make sure someone stands on point. In case the E-Shave clan wants to get their war on…

I did not have a great experience at this store. My appointment for a shave was at 3pm and I had showed up a little early to pick out a straight razor. It seemed to me that a regular customer had showed up and was trying to push for a shave, so I felt as if the barber was rushing to get me out of the chair. What should have been a relaxing experience felt somewhat uncomfortable. You can buy quality products on line for less so if the customer service is bad then they really do not have much.

Shave and haircut, two words that by themselves seem common, however, at the Art of Shaving, these two pedantic items, are transformed into a glorious luxury experience. Credit for my amazing experience, goes to Arthur, whom comes from a long line of barbers. His skills are unmatched and he performs his craft with effortless grace. Definitely the BEST hot towel shave I have ever had. Bravo!
