I have heard great tips from friends about The Little Beet in NYC, and decided to give the Roosevelt Field Mall location a try. For someone who eats healthfully like I do, It’s definitely the most best option in the food court. I liked that there was a Panera-like option to ‘pick two’ sides in addition to the choice of protein for a set price, based on which type of meet you choose to order. I heard that the chicken is dry, so I decided to order the salmon instead with sides of cauliflower leek soup and baked cauliflower with lemon and curry. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had a tasty glaze on it. I enjoyed the thickness and flavor of the cauliflower leek soup. The cauliflower itself was tasty, but the entire veggie bar of cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potatoes, butternut squash has been sitting out for who knows how long, and is rather cold. I wish that they used heated trays so that way the veggies are served hot, as if they were right out of the oven. I am happy to return to The Little Beet, and would definitely order the salmon and special soup of the day, but would try one of the options with quinoa, millet, or lentils instead of the cold vegetables.

My favorite healthy place to eat at the food court. Very delicious for healthy food. I enjoy the grilled chicken, charred broccoli & kale, the wild rice. So delicious! Great post meal workout.

Went there for lunch while shopping at the mall. I got the Feelin’ Green Juice, Grilled Chicken, green beans, and broccoli. The Juice was very good(and very expensive, $ 10 for 16oz). The Grilled chicken was what I expected it to be. It was very moist and flavorful. The green beans and broccoli were very flavorful, but were sadly cold. My lunch cost around $ 24, so this is most certainly not a budget dining experience.

I ordered a chicken bowl with sweet potatoes and string beans. The chicken was moist and delicious, although a little pink on the inside. The string beans were literally inedible. The sweet potatoes would have been good if they weren’t completely burned. My boyfriend had their broccoli and it too was burnt to a crisp. For 13.50 at the mall food court I expect something edible. They really should bring back the Salmon Bowl option because that was perfect!!!

I asked for a salad without the chicken, and still had to pay the menu price(for less food). Not a big issue, but when I started eating I realized that the quinoa was missing too. So I paid full price despite missing two components. I considered going up and getting the quinoa, but there’s always at least 6 people crowded at the pickup station waiting for their food, so I decided against it. It was a tasty arugula, goat cheese and beet salad, albeit more expensive than it should’ve been. All their sides look delicious and the prices are pretty good for what they sell, but I recommend caution if there are lots of people hanging around, and even more caution if you want to modify the menu items.

Had the little beer tonight. It’s not easy to find healthy food in Nassau county. But this food is healthy, fresh and good! I had a couple of the small cold pressed juices. These are not pasteurized and not heated thus better than 99% of juices out there and the only place around I know of that has it outside of nyc or hamptons. I had three sides. All very good. Kale(which my kids loved as they were crispy), cauliflower and broccoli. All fresh and simply made and prepared. The guy who put it together was very nice as well. I’ll be back and recommend! And of course the dining district in the mall is really nice. Perfect for kids too as no waiting, clean and good vibe.

Gimme a beat! — Janet Jackson The Little Beet is so popular during the lunch hour rush, its always better to plan ahead. If you do decide to stick out the wait, they have a healthy and real food approach to all their menu selections. When I was a teenager, my dad owned a supermarket chain in the Hamptons. The«roast beef» was actually Roasted Beef. Imagine that? They would take a huge hunka beef and cook it. What the supermarket served for cold cuts was amazing. Its the same concept at The Little Beet. Its just simple, healthy and fresh ingredients that make this little beet that could a healthy lunch alternative. My favorite thing so far is the Bah Mi Chicken Bowl, its a playful bowl without the pâté, mayo and french bread. Also, what’s with the Fred water??? Fred’s dead baby The most important thing you have to remember is, Coffee! TLB serves Counter Culture Coffee but hot & iced. The Little Beet, a NYC transplant now in Long Island.

I was really looking forward to trying it out after so many great reviews. The dining district is huge and so many new options but I opted for a health conscious meal at Little Beet. All your sides are already prepared for you and you see what they look like in the front counter. So please explain to me how it took, over 20 minutes from when I placed my order, for my single piece of chicken to be cooked on the grill. The dining district should be quick and tasty and even though the food was good and the service friendly, the wait knocks this down a start for me.

Loving Little Beets. Its a little pricy but it’s so nice to have a healthy and tasty option inside the mall. I’ve been there twice. The first time, I had their grilled chicken over roasted cauliflower and roasted kale. The veggies were awesome; nicely spiced and the kale were like kale chips. The chicken was a little dry, but I kind of expected that. I was also not offered any sauce to go with my meal, and since it was my first time there I didn’t know it was an option. Now I’m aware and will ask for sauce every time. Tonight, I tried their steak and salmon. The steak and salmon were cooked to order and my medium steak came out perfectly medium. It was juicy and seasoned well. The salmon was a bit dry but nicely pan seared. It wasn’t oily and very flavorful. The salmon came with a yogurt sauce and the steak came with chimichurri. Both were pretty good with the protein. The cauliflower is one of my favorites and the string beans are pretty good too. Next time I’ll try the broccoli and sweet potato.

Standing on line takes way too long. This place is slow when they’re busy. But they do seem to be busy a lot so maybe they’re doing something right. Also this is super expensive. If you want to go here you’re kinda in the position where you’re ordering stuff that you don’t really know what it is. They need someone handing out samples. Three people on the line is not enough! There’s not enough help if you have questions or want to try something before you buy. Possibly they shod follow weather forecasts and when it rains have more staff. As I said, too expensive, but it is a good amount of food. One protein, a dry chicken breast, and three vegetables was a good amount to share with one other person. We got the sweet potatoes which were delicious. And the broccoli was very good. I enjoyed the quinoa but my mom didn’t. Either way we agreed too much mint flavor in it. The maple chipotle sauce is disgusting and lingers in your mouth so you can’t get rid of it.

My 2nd time eating here. Very light clean and gives you energy. Their portions are great., not too much or to little. Staffing very friendly and offered other side options. I had steak with greek salad and grilled sweet potato. Since I am working on a healthier body. Why not start here.

How far is one willing to trek to get healthy, high quality food? Well. I’m not ashamed to say that I drove 30 min to Roosevelt Field Mall just for the Little Beet. It’s worth the trip. If you haven’t been to RF Mall in the past several months, they have revamped their entire food court into what is now called the«Dining District». And finally I have a healthy place to eat at! It’s right smack in the middle of the food court. For $ 10 you can pick a Protein(chicken, steak, tofu, salmon, veggie) + a side. There’s a bunch so I won’t name them all.($ 12 for protein &2 sides, $ 14 for protein and 3 sides) From visiting a few times, I’ve had the opportunity to try a bunch of their grilled vegetables which are fantastic. My favorites include: –Roasted Sweet Potatoes with sea salt & pecorino –Roasted Cauliflower with olive & lemon oil –Lentils with avocado, oranges, pecans, kale & ginger –Buckwheat Soba Noodles As for their proteins: chicken and steak were fantastic. Make sure to ask for their spicy/smoky maple sauce(I think that’s what it is). It’s got quite the kick and really pairs well with the meal. Trying to eat healthy? You don’t have to sacrifice flavor for clean eating! Not with the Little Beet anyway.

Thank you to Unilocal Elites for posting about their experience at the Unilocal event, especially Bill S for answering my questions :) I was excited to hear about some healthy food arriving at the Dining District! I tried the Charred Cauliflower, Lentils with Avocado and the Quinoa… all were fantastic! My only secret wish was that they were served warm instead of cold but I assume that may affect the quality, not sure. The appearance of the place seems immaculately clean which is so appreciated by me and the staff was super friendly. I hope they do well!

Passing by this new eatery at Roosevelt Fields Dining District, I came across a little gem. The food is extremely fresh and healthy. I went around pondering over all the other restaurants nearby and something kept pulling me back to try it out. I will keep this short and sweet. To those who enjoy good quality, clean, and healthy eating… this should be your stop. The prices are higher compared to the rest of the food court spots, but u cannot compare quality with quantity. For $ 15, I had a HUGE portion of food which could be sized for two. The chicken breast is tender and sizable, approx(6oz). I chose three sized with my protein and they were all charred and delicious. they offer you very sizable portions of veggies as well, from 3 halves of baked sweet potato, two spoonfuls of each veggie, and that big chunk of chicken on top was heaven in my mouth and my belly. What I enjoyed the most is, I have a clean weightlifter diet, and the food here is perfect for that. Not drenched in oil or sauce, everything seems baked or grilled and some of the veggies tossed in light oil. Eat smart and live smart. This is the only place I will eat from anytime I visit the mall from now on. Keep up the good work.

Only one word can describe this place: WOW! And probably: DELICIOUS and: HEALTHY also: AMAZING one more: WOW(again) The cute name caught my eye, and I ventured over. The clear glass showed exactly what foods were available and how they looked like — you do eat with your eyes first. Being vegan, I was overwhelmed! I wanted to eat everything because everything looked yummy.(Most of the sides are vegan/vegetarian friendly). And for anyone who eats at least a bit healthy, we all know it’s like pulling teeth to find a place that serves food that isn’t oil-laden or swimming in some sort of artery-clogging ingredient. After a few questions(thank you, kind lady, for being so accommodating!), I settled with the protein + 3 sides — tofu, millet, charred kale, and baked sweet potato. The other protein options were chicken, steak, and salmon. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, I ordered was super flavorful, which is not something common with places that are geared towards healthy. Delicious and healthy score a million extra points in my book. My first bite of tofu told me it was grilled and had a light sauce on it. Maybe soy garlic? The two big strips of it were not skimpy whatsoever. The charred kale(which I sampled then bought) had a combination of cooked kale(which is soft) and crispy kale(like kale chips, if you’ve had them before)! It was a wonderful combination of textures, and my carnivore brother could not stop picking them off of my plate. the baked sweet potato had shavings of something I did not know(upon researching on their website, there is an X next to dairy, so this is NOT vegan-friendly.I wish she had told me, but what’s done is done) and coarse sea salt. This was really good despite the hindsight fact that this was not within my dietary restrictions, and I encourage anyone else who chooses to eat dairy to try this! I tried millet for the first time here. It’s hard to explain. It’s a grain, but it’s more chewy than quinoa but less chewy than rice. This was really good and I had a hearty serving of it. I had a great experience here, with both the food and customer service, and I hope this place stays in business for a long time because I will come here every time I go shopping at Roosevelt Field :)

Roosevelt Field food court 2.0 aka the new«Dining District». This place alone is probably one of the best additions to the new district. Finally an eatery that focuses on healthy options that are executed well along with being reasonably priced. For my first time out I had the Salmon with a side of curried roasted cauliflower and the lentils. The salmon was nicely cooked with a slight citrus flavor and a good caramelization on the outside. Cauliflower was delicious and the lentils had a mix of kale, citrus and pecans in it. All of this was under $ 15 with a drink. I hope this place lasts because I noticed longer lines at the less healthy options so only time will tell if it is accepted, but for my money it is a great choice!

Like the previous reviewers have said, it is shocking to see this type of option in a mall food court! My experience here with the staff was excellent. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help! I just went to ask when they were open, and for a menu and they said they were ready to go! Me and my cohort went with the protein and three sides. We both ordered the sweet potatoes, charred broccoli, and the charred string beans. For proteins I ordered the steak, and my cohort ordered the chicken. We sat with the sides while they cooked the proteins, and they were nice enough to bring to us considering they cook them to order, which is about 4 to 6 minutes. Both proteins were cooked perfectly, and we’re delicious. The sweet potatoes, and charred string beans were great. As for the charred broccoli, it had a little too much pepper flakes! All in all, this place is a great healthier option available in the new Roosevelt Field dining district food court.
