The store is great, the workers at the store are great, but I had an issue that just ruined my experience with them. I went to the store and bought a pair of Uggs, and two weeks later I saw the on sale online for about $ 60 less. Well, you can understand that is quite a slap in the face. I emailed The Walking Company through their website, and was told by Brandy to call about the issue. I called, and the person who answered seemed unsure of what to do. A very nice woman, but a bit flustered. After she did some research, she told me they don’t price match on Uggs. Nowhere on their website does it mention that, and their price match guarantee does not show exceptions. I specifically mentioned in my email that I purchased Uggs, and didn’t get that information from Brandy(who had left for the day when I called customer service). The shoes are pretty expensive in the store, and if they won’t honor their own price match then I guess I just have to shop somewhere else. I live in Queens, about 20 miles away, so I wouldn’t even bother going to the store about it. Live and learn, and shop somewhere else. They also have an odd policy that if your credit card is declined they won’t run it again. I have Chase and their fraud protection declined the charge at first, then called me right away and said I was cleared to re-run the purchase, but the sales lady said she couldn’t do that. First time I’ve heard that at a store.

Big store with very friendly sales people. Walked in ans was greeted several times. i was immediately asked if they could help me.(always a good thing) I was looking for a pair of discontinued mens Ugg work boots. They had the style i was looking for unfortunately not in my size. The sales woman was extremely nice and said she would check her other stores and the website. Unfortunately for me I struck out. Ohh well ill keep looking. Store was nice and had a good selection of men’s and woman’s shoes and boots. Sales staff over and beyond the call, Great service.

I’ve never seen a stand alone shop for The Walking Company — only online and the catalog, which tells you you’ve found something great. This particular store carries comfort shoes — unfortunately, not a lot of attractive shoes available so when the only category to find shoe stores on Unilocal falls under fashion, I’ve got to list it as such. For those of us who stand a lot(servers, doctors, teachers, steward/stewardesses, kitchenstaff) as well as those of use with foot/back issues, this is a store for us. They carry a number of different comfort shoe lines including but not limited to Dansko, Ecco, Merrell, MBT, UGG, Mephisto, Pikolinos, Sofft, Clarks, PlanetWalkers, Josef Seibel, Raffini, Privo, Earth… anumber of them I’d never heard of before; check their site for the full list. I’ve actually seen a number of the brands at Marshalls’s and DSW at cheaper prices though not the same styles. There’s a machine that measures where your foot puts pressure and from that, you can determine which orthodics are best for you depending on what type of shoe(dress, running) you’re wearing. They also sell accessories such as socks, hats, and scarves with promotions like buy 2 pairs of shoes, get a free gift — I don’t need to spend $ 150 to get a free $ 20 hat and scarf. I didn’t care for the salesiness(is that even a word?) of the place. I watched one older salesman jam shoes down a couple’s throat, first selling her and then telling him he needed shoes… even though he didn’t seem to ask! Store is accessible.
