So Ive have Boiling Point before in Irvine locations and this past Friday(1÷8÷16) it was cold outside and we were craving soup… I saw on Unilocal the BP in garden grove so we headed over The wait was long as expected(30−40mins) we were seated and I ordered the House Special(mild) and my sister ordered the Beef Soup. Our orders came out a little slow and seem to take a while to boil in the wok. Usually at the Irvine locations my experience is that the pots come out boiling bubbling hot. My pot from Garden Grove was not. My Pork was stick together and had a weird stuck together looking product. Needless to say beware to customers when I woke up this morning(1÷9÷16) I have been vomitting and nause all day and no way of keeping any food down. I called BP in garden grove and spoke to stephanie(supervisor) who informed me a store manager was not available. I explained my situation and she took my name and number down and said«someone» will call me back and see what to do about the situation or offer me another pot or something First off I do not want another pot… if your cooking guidelines are not up to par and your kitchen protocol is not being followed then customers like me suffer. The doctor at urgent care tonight diagnosed it as a stomach virus. Keep in mind the last food I ate wasBoiling Points House Special in Garden Grove. Update 2÷3÷16 Go to Health inspection report id disgustingand a consumer health concern. If you want to eat out of bowls stacked on the floor in the back door and have employees not properly washing their hands to health code standards serving you food then your asking to get sick. This location is disgusting and made me sick. I truely believe they should have their doors closed. Improper food temperature making the food hazardous to serve. Beware to all food consumers… read the details to the health report.

Everything was super good and service was good too! The place is pretty small so a large crowd would not be wise. Free green or black tea that was so yummy during lunch hour too! My friend found a little hair in her food but they were really accommodating and gave her a brand new pot and free drinks for the whole table which was really nice !!

My friends & I dined at the Boiling Point for lunch. We arrived right when they just opened because I read about the long lines. We sat at one of the booths and ordered the following: (1) Green Tea or Old-Time Delight Black Tea — Complimentary During lunch, you get a comp drink between green tea or black tea. We all selected the green tea but I believe they served us the milk green tea. It was tasty and a nice touch before your meal. (2) House Special Beef Soup — Very Spicy My individual hot sizzling soup was full of Napa, Vermicelli, Sliced Angus Beef, Enoki Mushroom, Tomato, Firm Tofu, Tempura, Corn, Meat Ball(Pork), Kamaboko, Fried Tofu Skin, Imitation Crab Stick, Green Onion, Cilantro. You get to choose either rice or vermicelli as a side to your soup. The spice level was just right and my side order of quail eggs was a great touch! I enjoyed my soup which was delicious. (3) House Special Beef Soup — Mild Three of my friends also ordered the Beef Soup but at the mild level. They all enjoyed their soups which they said was fresh and seasoned well. (4) Organic Veggie Soup — Mild My friend’s soup had Organic Broccoli, Organic Napa, Organic Carrot, Organic Wide Vermicelli, Organic Zucchini, Organic Beech Mushroom, Organic Maitake Mushroom, Organic Pear, Seaweed, Organic Firm Tofu, Golden Mushroom. She told our male server that she doesn’t like tofu or mushroom and if they could add more nappa cabbage instead. He said he couldn’t do that because everything is pre-packaged. What?, lol So, then I asked if I can have her tofu and mushroom… His reply was another no. Again, WTH? …lol The story gets better, after my friend’s first mouthful of her soup she said there was no flavor. So, she asked our server if they had some salt and he said no. Again, WTH? … lol. Your customer has a complaint and you don’t know how to rectify it? My friend had to add an extra order of nappa cabbage and she also had to add all of those sauces(hot sauce, peanut sauce, flavored soy sauce) on the table so that her soup had some flavor. (5) Chia Seeds Dessert — Complimentary Basil sweet type of thick lemonade with chia seeds. I didn’t care for it … but it’s nice that they offer a free dessert to cleanse your palate. Three of us enjoyed our soups and I would had given 3 Stars. However, our waiter wasn’t personable and was no help to my vegetarian friend. Thus, minus 1 Star. My dining experience earns 2 Stars!

I called ahead to see how long the wait was(on a Saturday at 4pm) and surprisingly she said no wait! Woohoooooo. I’ve been wanting to try hot pot for awhile now & I have been feeling under the weather & thought it would be the best remedy. & I was right! I ordered the beef pot. It said it came with vermicelli on the menu but I think it was glass noodles? Minor detail, but it still tasted great. I ordered the rice on the side instead of more noodles & it went excellent with the soup as well. The hot soup came with slices of beef, corn, imitation crab, tofu & lots of veggies. For me, I preferred to put the fire out so that my pot would cool down. It was wayyyy too hot for me & I ended up burning my tongue:(if you want to keep the fire burning to keep your soup boiling, then just ask for an extra bowl on the side. But I wanted to eat out of my pot Bc there isn’t that much room on the table. At the end of your meal you get this little shooter of like lemonade with chia seeds &OMG! Can I have a pitcher of this?! It’s so delish & refreshing. I have no idea if it’s on the menu but I’ll def look out for it next time Bc I’m pretty sure I’ll be back!

This place has definitely approved since they first opened. The service is better as well as the quality. I usually get the lamb or the beef hot soup and my boyfriend gets either the taiwanese or the beef. We only come here during lunch time for the free tea and because dinner usually has crazy long waits. Anyways, I’ve only had 1 problem with this place so far which is why I can’t give it 5 stars. There’s this server, I haven’t seen him in awhile, but whenever I ask for water or for my fire to be put off he’ll say«I’ll be right back» and he just disappears into the back I’ll see him coming out helping out other customers and I’m sitting there like ??? hello??? !!! Then I think okay maybe he’s busy, but I just go throughout the entire time never getting my fire off or water from this person. This happens every single time with him. Besides that, I love this place and so do my friends. We always come here and I would recommend this place if you like hotpot!

I often crave for this place! I’m addicted to the Taiwanese Spicy Hotpot! The Taiwanese Spicy Hotpot comes in only a large size pot and includes ramen, pork intestines, pork blood cubes, beef, cabbage, mushrooms, tofu, and a bunch of other random goodies. It’s really good! And it also comes in FIRESPICY! Since I can eat really spicy, I love the taste of this hotpot. It’s very filling and satisfying. Each hotpot comes with a side of rice or vermicelli noodles. Since I already get ramen in my hotpot, I always opt for rice on the side. I love the 3 sauces that go with the hotpot. They are: chili oil, sweet soy sauce, and soybean paste. I put all 3 sauces together and dip my meat or veggies in it. So yummy. During lunch, each hotpot comes with a drink, either iced black tea or iced green tea. It makes it a better deal. No free drink at dinner but they do offer free water. Other hotpots I’ve tried: lamb and beef. They’re both good and come in smaller sizes for those smaller appetites. This place tends to get crowded around lunch or dinner. There’s always a wait, but it goes by fast… However, waits can be up to an hour on heavy peak days & times.

First and last time doing take out here. The girl that took my order was pleasant. However, the guy that rang me up was rude and told me to move when I was looking at the receipt and zero stars for them packing hotpot so carelessly. Thank god I’m smart and asked them to double bag it because once I got home the original bag it was in was soaked in hotpot and the sauce oils. hmph!

I’ve been to multiple Boiling Point locations, with the Gardena location being closest to my house. I typically go to that location but since I was in OC area, I decided to give this newer location a try. It’s funny bc I came here to eat with family on Monday of Christmas week and then I came back here again with family for Thursday lunch on Christmas Day LMAO my family just loves boiling Point haha One of the main problems is that it’s in a extremely busy plaza. When you have Boiling Crab right next to you and all the boba/food places surrounding the area(as well as stupid drivers), there’s a lot of activity going on taking all at one place. Just beware of the stupid drivers while driving to this location(Brookhurst & Westminster… hella dumb Viet drivers). Anyway, when you come here for lunch(anytime before 3pm) it’s a lot cheaper and you get free tea! That’s a bonus. Sadly when I came here for lunch on Christmas Day, we arrived at 1ish pm and we didn’t get seated until 3:02pm(which is considered dinner price and no free drinks… sigh). Just plan ahead on what time you want to come and do expect to wait a while! When it was 3, there was no wait whatsoever and it briefly annoyed me that I wasted an hour for waiting for dinner… I really dislike customers that don’t leave right after they finish eating/paying their meals. Especially when they continue conversing for long periods of time. One, there is always so many people waiting in line and needing a table to dine in. It’s just inconvenient for the outside people to wait even longer for your slow ass to get up and gtfo. There should be a policy where people need to leave once they finish their meal/paying. People are seriously so funny these days LOL. Anyways for Boiling Point, my favs are probably the Miso Soup, Beef Soup, and definitively the Taiwanese Hot Soup! The Taiwanese is flaming hot and sooooo spicy but fuckin good. The Miso Soup has unique flavor and taste and for me, it’s quite addictive. The Beef is usually my standard order if I’m not feeling or craving any specialty hot soup. Though, I think the Miso and Taiwanese are better than the beef. It usually just depends on my mood and the level of spiciness that I’m craving. Sometimes, the meat can be overcooked in the hot soup when eating your dish but I don’t mind that as much compared to others. Ideal for cold weather! I mean haters can hate but I do enjoy coming to Boiling Point whenever I’m in the mood for some delicious hot soup. Customer service here needs to be greatly improved(sometimes they can be rude af) on but that’s the same for every other location. Will always be back haha.

I would give this place 3.5 stars. I’ve always really enjoy coming to the restaurant, mainly because there aren’t too many other hot pot places that I know of besides shabu shabu(which I feel like can get really pricey and boring). I like the fact that there are so many soup bases and flavors to choose from. Each pot also comes with a lot of meat /sea food or whatever items it comes with. I came here to celebrate my birthday with my parents and my bf on a Saturday night around 7pm, and we had to wait about 30 – 45 min. The time went by quickly though, since there were a lot of other shops nearby to explore. Each of us got our own dish– my dad got the house special, my mom got the seafood one, my bf got the thai one. I was being indecisive since I wanted to get something different, so I can try and review many of the flavors. My bf told me to get the«Pomelo» flavor, so I did. I think each cost around $ 16 – 17, so it is a little pricey. We also shared stinky tofu, which was BOGO that day. If I had to rate the flavors, I would say I like the following(from best to worst): — House special — Seafood /Thai — Pomelo Mine was interesting, but I wouldn’t get the«pomelo» flavor again. It is sour and basically tastes like ponzu sauce. If you like that, maybe you’ll like this one. But I personally preferred my dad’s choice of the house special. It is a little more oily, but full of flavor. I can taste a hint of the stinky tofu in the house special, though, so you should keep that in mind if you’re not a fan of stinky tofu. The seafood and thai broths were also pretty good. The service here was pretty good. I would come back if I am in the area and in the mood for hot pot. It’s a great place to eat on a cold winter day!

I was surprised that boiling point decided to move dead center in Westminster. The location is a lot smaller than the Irvine spot so now what you get is a fight for your life parking lot on the weekends and a battle of who wants to wait longer between the two boiling … crab and pot. The service is just like the surrounding Vietnamese restaurants. Aside from them seating you, taking your order, and giving you the bill, you flag them down for refills and whatever else you need. This level of service is surprising as it’s NOT a Vietnamese establishment and they should know better to ask the customers first if they need anything. The food is still good. I typically get the beef hot soup and it’s always nice on a colder day here or when you just need a hangover cure. ;) What the best part of this place is actually their boba drinks! The honey green milk tea is always refreshing with the right amount of sweetness and their boba texture is made perfectly almost every time. I would come here just for that… when the parking doesn’t make me fear for my life.

This review is for the organic veggie hot soup. The broth they used for it was water. Literally clear, plain, tasteless water. I would think that they would have the decency to use vegetable or mushroom stock or something. But nope, they used flavorless water. Basically the soup had no taste whatsoever. It had mostly vegetables but seriously, the soup was such lacking in flavor that I just could not enjoy my veggies. This place is not suitable for vegetarians. Would never recommend their organic veggie hot soup. Oh, and I really hate how they market it as «organic.»

Yummy, this place is really good. I enjoy eating here, the people are great and the price is decent. Came back for the 2nd time, I ate at Boiling Pot in Garden Grove that is also pretty good and great price. However, they are super inconsistent with their customer service. Too many little girls that doesn’t care there. Looks like I will only come to Boiling Point going forward. I definitely had a much better experience this time around. Will come-back for sure. Price: 5⁄5 Quality: 5⁄5 Quantity: 5⁄5 Cleanliness: 5⁄5 Customer Service: 5⁄5 Tips: Super busy during lunch time, but worrh the wait. The parking can also be a pain, so you have to be patience.

My love for hotpot burns as bright as the fire below the pot, and Boiling Point just seems to get the formula right, especially in this weather. My favorite order is the Beef Pot Medium Spice with Vermicelli(you get a choice of that or rice) In it you’ll find beef, enoki mushroom, corn, more vermicelli, tofu skin, cabbage, tomato, beef balls, and artificial crab(off the top of my head, yeah I eat here a lot) Service isn’t perfect, they do forget things you ask for every now and then; but they do a good job of making sure you’re fine, refilling your soup, or turning off your fire. Note: Lunch special(11am-3pm) for $ 11.99 hotpot and free green or black tea is the way to go! Don’t forget to ask for stamp cards for your hotpot, after 10 you get one free!

I haven’t been back in awhile and decided to come with some friends on a cold day. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Monday night. This location is much smaller than the Irvine location, but the service is so much slower… House Special Hot Soup: I actually really enjoyed this. It comes with intestine. YUMMM. I feel like the portions got smaller though. I really like the bean paste and garlic sauce they have. I always make a mixture of both for my hot pot. YUMMMM. They are currently out of hokkaido milk tea and lamb hot soup… which is a bummer. Hopefully they have them the next time I come.

Whenever I have hot pot anywhere, someone is invariably comparing it to Boiling Point and after finally getting to try it I can see why. yum yum! I’m a huge fan of the goods coming in the soup already so there’s no worry about having to throw in all the stuff yourself — a win for the lazy man and IMO made everything more flavorful. Taste: delicious. I had the miso which was probably the lightest tasting soup compared to the Tom Yum and the Spicy Beef Soup ones the others had, but all 3 tasted great. didn’t need to use any of the side sauces — but their miso sauce was so i used plenty of that as a dipping sauce. The soup comes out boiling and they keep a flame under it to keep it piping hot(I actually asked the fire to be put out, but that’s bc I’m a huge pansy when it comes to temperature hot things lol) Portion: huge! way bigger than it looks. Service: great. there werent many people when we came in for lunch(which was apparently super rare and very lucky) but we were constantly checked up on and our waters were continuously refilled. Really enjoyed everything about our visit and will def come back when I’m in the area.

My cousin and his wife out of town were craving hot pot. It was kinda late for lunch and we didn’t want to hustle our way out to Irvine and decided to give this location a shot. We, a party of 6, were seated right away when we got here 3’ish pm. I don’t mind small places, but small tables? C’mon, this place serves hot pot, not just one pot that everyone shares, but everyone gets their own pot(they’re not on the small side). There was barely room left for any side dishes; the only one we got was stinky tofu, thanks cuz for the funny aroma creeping up my nose. His wife thought it smelled like his morning breath, I lol’ed. Service was friendly but sloppy; they brought 5 hot pots and the 6th came out about 10 minutes later. I got the Taiwanese Spicy hot soup which comes with cabbage(way too much), sliced beef(way too less), tempura, mushroom(enoki and maitake), clam, fish ball, pork intestine(kinda chewy), pork blood rice cake, tofu, green onion, cilantro and instant noodle(wish they have fresh ramen noodle). It only comes in flaming spicy, basically their hottest and spiciest version. Their scoville scale counterpart corresponds into 6 levels: no spicy, tiny spicy, mild spicy, medium spicy, very spicy and flaming spicy. I thought the broth could have used more flavor, or maybe the spiciness just numbed my taste buds. It surely was SPICY. My cousin had the same, he enjoyed his(maybe stinky tofu helps filling the lack of taste). His wife finished the whole pot and took no prisoners — a good sign. I accomplished my mission but will not be back soon, unless the hot pot cravings hit someone.

I would only come here during lunch because it’s cheaper and you get a free green/black tea. I love green tea so I always get that. I usually get the kimchi pot but they took it out and replaced it with organic vegetables so now I get the beef pot. I just noticed a new soup. #6 pomelo hot pot. u can ask for ponzu if you want it for a dipping sauce. the soup is kind of sour so for all u that like sour food, this hot pot is for u! if you are deciding between the Taiwanese and the Thai pot, everyone I know likes the Taiwanese more. the broth has a better flavor. it’s super spicy though so only get it if you can handle spicy food! I love love love that one sauce that’s more brown and liquidy. I don’t use the chili oil or the bean paste one. I also get the 6 quail eggs for $ 1.50

Boiling Point serves up personal sized hot pots. The price is around $ 13 for a regular and $ 16 for the larger ones. Each hot pot comes with either rice or vermicelli noodles. I suggest the beef hot pot! I like the variety of toppings each hot pot comes with. I’ve also shared the Taiwanese spicy hot pot and it is spicy! Be warned! My favorite drink here is the Hokaido Milk Tea! It’s soo good! It tastes like a coconut milk tea, without being too sweet. Seriously addicting!

I’ve been to Irvine location and many copycats around town. This is probably my favorite out of all of them. The last time I came in here was with my girlfriend on a Wednesday at 11am. We got seated immediately but when we looked at the door there was a long wait starting. Once we got seated, I ordered the Taiwanese Spicy one. My girlfriend got the veggies one. All soups comes with a complementary sweeten ice tea(option of green or black tea). They also come with the option of either vermicelli noodles or rice. My hot pot only had the option of Flaming Spicy, which is their most spicy level. It contained ramen, beef, mushrooms, clam, fish balls, fish rings, intestine, pork rice cake, and tofu. It was a lot of food and was very good. The broth was a little too oily for my liking but definitely good. It was pretty spicy but in a good way. The soup had good flavor. It wasn’t too salty and perfect. Their garlic dipping sauce they had was also very good for dipping meat. They were generous with all the meats and seafood. I ended up taking half home for dinner. The teas were very good. They reminded me of 7 leaves. Yum! Our total for two hot pots was $ 26(without tip). In comparison to other hot pot places, its a tiny bit more but it comes with a drink. The flavoring here is also a lot better than other places. As for service, it was excellent. They were fast and very good about our requests. The inside of this place is small. They probably will need to expand or have another location nearby. The tables are small but everything did fit. Overall, we had a good experience and I would come back.
