This place does not honor the gastric sleeve bypass surgery discount card, and obviously none of us that had the surgery can eat very much, I can’t belive they do not honor that card here.

2 stars because of friendly staff. Food is cheap but poor quality. I wouldn’t recommend.

Comfort food. Eat here at least once every few weeks. Its expensive without a coupon, however you could always choose to not buy drinks and drink water instead. I love it whenever they have bbq ribs for dinner. Fried chicken here is a must, skin is crispy and perfectly seasoned(I love thighs best). Salad bar is also pretty awesome. Eating breakfast is pretty good too, if you can wake up early enough. Best time to eat is around 830 – 9 am before it gets super crowded with church goers. Their menudo is pretty addicting if you enjoy chewy intestinal lining/tripe. I also like their crispy bacon and unlimited fruit(cantaloupe or melon) they’re always so sweet, and warm oatmeal(with cinnamon and brown sugar). The omelette station is always popular, ask for fresh eggs if you want an omelette, personally I don’t eat omelettes because its too filling for me. The ladies who take away your dishes can be efficient, depending on how crowded it is. When its too crowded, be prepared to have a stack of dishes piled a mile high on your table.

I have been eating at the Cerritos location since I was young, but I moved to Orange County and I tried Santa Ana but that shit was like dog food. So now at least 3 years later I came to this location. They don’t have bbq chicken anymore but baked. Their cheesecake is like heaven.

We were there for lunch on Sunday. The place was full of people but there was not many food selections for $ 12. There was no plates/glasses available most of the time and we had to wait until they came out with new ones. It seemed like the staff was paying no attention to this situation. Out server was good on the other hand. She was always smiling. That made me feel a bit better eating there.

Went here on friday night with the family and was really disappointed. The food selection wasn’t that great and the service was nothing special except maybe for the nice gentleman serving and clearing our table. Probably will not be returning anytime soon.

Wife and I came for dinner. She’d signed up online and receive a buy one get one free dinner so we thought… what the heck. First the place was clean, bright and had a good selection of salads, main course, and finger foods like pizza and chicken nuggets. I had the roast beef and it was one of the best I’ve had in an environment similar to this. Other places are dried out but this was cook just right and a little pink in the middle. Nibbled on a few items and desserts and have to say it was all very good. Think I’ll have to check out their«Military Monday’s» before too long.

My boyfriend and I love coming here. The breakfast buffet is especially good. They always have an omelette bar available. The bacon and ham is always great. We went for dinner the other night and they had beef that was amazing. The fried chicken is also really good. The mashed potatoes seem like they may be a little cheap and maybe from flakes but I still think they’re really really good. Every time we come here either breakfast or dinner the person in charge of clearing our table always does it quickly so we don’t have a bunch of plates sitting around. I knocked a star off because one of the times we went there was food on the utensils and that’s pretty disgusting. Haven’t seen it happen in the times we’ve been after. I think the prices are reasonable and if you sign up for the mailing list they often send you buy one breakfast get the second for 2.99(I think) as well as discounted dinner prices.

My first time here with Groupon voucher, and didn’t set a high expectations or anything. After all, it’s not like Las Vegas all you can eat buffet, or Chinese style. The food was barely or below edible. I tried to get multiple food, at a very small amount(as to not waste them). Each time I put my hope up, that maybe there is at least 3 dishes out there that is good. Boys, my hope was crushed. Here are the«good» — happy thoughts always come first! 1/Vanilla soft serve ice cream: they have other flavors like chocolate & orange, but the machine didn’t work. So only vanilla is available, which taste decent. 2/Whole kennel corns: Yup, the plain stuff you can easily buy from a can. But it’s the only thing taste normal. 3/Deep fried fish in batter: oh I was surprised — this actually taste pretty good(big & crisp). Just don’t poke it, or really look at what the inside — you don’t want to know. 4/Hand carved meat can be a hit or missed. I got a small piece of ham. The skin was crispy, small outer layer of fat is good, and the meat was soft & moist. Except it’s packed with ton of sodium. 5/Cheery Jello: of course it’s from the box mix, but I’m happy that it tastes normal. Here are the«not-so-good» parts: 1/Some of the utensils weren’t cleaned. Like, there are a bunch of «mystery» residues on them. I usually turn a blind eyes toward spotty fork & knife — but we’re talking about large remarks all over them. I will say: stick to your fork or knife, and forget about the spoon. 2/Mashed potatoes: Yuck… It smells so bad, like an Expired mash potatoes powder from a box. I’ve made mashed potatoes fresh & from the box before. Honestly, it can taste much better than this. 3/Chicken pot pie: meeh… You better stick with frozen Marie Calendar’s pie. 4/Crossed cut fries: bland & not crispy. 5/Hawaiian buns: sad cases — it’s more like a corn & wheat buns. I can’t tell if it’s supposed to be a sweet or savory bun. 6/Fried chicken: non flavoring. KFC, Ralph’s or FOOD4LESS will taste much better than this. 7/Veggies: squad or broccoli — bland 8/Mac & Cheese: look good, but taste like from a box or worse. 9/Egg & Spinach bread pudding: bland 10/Cheese pizza: I tried to gnaw on it, after so many let down. It’s edible, but even the cheapo $ 5 Ceasars will beat this by a mile or two. 11/Soups: you’re drinking sodium water. 12/Cheesecake: the fist 2 – 3 bites taste good, then my palate got bored with it. When I mean good, it’s edible and better than the below average food I have tasted. 13/Cinnabon buns with salted caramel: warm & good. Just not worth the calories you’re putting in. 14/Corn bread: look like a mashup bread, but has good /savory flavors. Just don’t want to know what inside. 15/Carpet is beyond dirty. I feel like I need to wash my shoes when I get home. Table & chair is old & not as cleaned. Overall, the food there is either too bland, or too much sodium. Dessert is obviously too sweet, but it’s expected. The place is crowded, old, dirty and smell bad(like mold). However, I do give star for the employees, who I can see work really hard and is nice. I just wish they could have added some Asian or Chinese dish, cause it’s harder to fail. Even with the Groupon, I still wouldn’t recommend you to try. You’re much better off buy $ 5-$ 7 meal at Panda Express, Subway sandwich or Costco food court(as little as $ 1.5), which still come out cheaper than spending $ 10 to $ 13 here. I still have 4 more vouchers to eat there… And if you still want to eat there after reading this, message me & I can sell it back to you.

Been going here for 10yrs, the variety went down hill, it was good when they had the steaks and ribs, but now. Tid bits of steaks. The mac & cheese is good, the fried chicken is good, the salad is good but that is it

I’ve been in here before quite a few times I’ve been disappointed most trips but the kids always love«the idea» of this place for all the choices! This time the place is really clean and food was very good. The kid who was working the carving station made the visit, not by the food but with his personality. He should be the manager! Great personality and greeted everyone he saw. Heredó are my take always/messages for the personality who runs the place: If you are going to have a family establishment(that’s what this is right, NOONEISLOOKINGFORFINEDININGAT A $ 10BUFFET) Make a good mac and cheese… I think they did OK at this but there is room for improvement. They also need chicken strips though If you expecting a 4 year old to direct a families discretionary spending in your direction! 5 stars because it was so much better than past visits, but this place isn’t gourmet dining by any stretch!

Haven’t been here in many years, and when I was invited to come eat, I didn’t have high expectations at all, and in all honesty, there’s just not much to say. Food: the food looks very shiny, almost fake I would say. I know it sounds weird, but sometimes you can tell the difference between fresh made food and poor quality food. Some dishes that were better than others: new chicken pot pie, salted caramel bread pudding(my favorite), sausage. Everything else was meh, for a lack of better words. The dishes were either too bland or too salty or too old, etc. Ambiance: everyone just seems really lazy. The cashier seemed whatever about work, and there was never a person at the carving station. Each time that I passed by, one of the workers mopping the floor had to call to the back kitchen for a carver to come out. One busboy, Jayy, was really cool. He was very happy and enthusiastic, always asking if we were doing ok and if he could clear our plate. I don’t think i’ll be back, not for a buy one get one free, or anything else. I’d rather just eat somewhere else.

Beware of the shitty food. The only food worth trying were the pizza and chicken. The Mac n cheese tasted like box microwaveable Mac n cheese. Gross! I swear this place only serves the leftovers from a soup kitchen $: what the hell man how can people eat here? I don’t know what I was thinking …

Yes this wouldn’t be my first choice. Or second… maybe not even my third but I gotta tell you I was pleasantly surprised when I resorted to coming here one night for dinner after I was introduced to a coupon and Groupon opportunity. Upon entering we were immediately greeted with a smile by a bubbly employee who took our coupon and Groupon gift certificates happily. It was a fantastic deal! We found a table(seat yourself) and quickly scurried to fill some plates. None of the food is brag worthy but the service and staff is incredibly friendly and everything that’s supposed to be hot is hot and cold is cold so there’s no complaints from me.

Dad: Want to go to hometown buffet? They’ve got prime rib, turkey, and ham for dinner. They’ve gotten better and dinner is only about $ 11! What more could you want? Me:(thinkin to myself in my head) HELLNO dad you’re crazy I haven’t been back since I was 10. My tastebuds have refined and I don’t wanna eat food that little kids run around playing with! Unfortunately, I gave in cause my dad wouldn’t stop bugging me about going and nobody else would go with him. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and damn it, should’ve just gone with my instincts about not going –__– So we went, and seriously this place has not changed since I was 10. The layout, chairs, and everything looked the same. The only thing different was that there was no long ass line out the door(gee, I wonder why?) Service was horrible here. My plates at the table got stacked before anyone came by to pick it up. Also, there was only like one guy running around restocking everything. Poor guy. To sum it up, salad bar was bad. Not much variety for the salads and everything was pre-made drenched in dressing. Carving/meat section: The prime rib, turkey, and ham all looked good. I decided to give it a try and I was surprised my stomach didn’t hurt, The turkey surprisingly wasn’t dry and the ham wasn’t too salty which is a good thing. The gravy however was disappointing. The prime rib w/the au jus wasn’t great, but I guess if you’re a kid it might taste like the best meat you’ll have(unfortunately, I’m all grown up now and have had better). The prime rib was dry and so were the pork bbq ribs. The pork bbq ribs they had were a joke, literally dry as jerky and the bones were like the size of half a pencil. The roasted chicken wasn’t bad and they had these nice glazed hawaiian rolls that I made sliders with. There’s a DIY taco section, but I skipped on it ’cause it looked gross. The pulled pork w/potatoes looked good, but it was nasty and dry. The only good thing here were the roasted chicken, hawaiian bread, honey corn bread, sesame chicken, and broccoli… lol Seriously though the asian sesame chicken was BOMB, that sauce was crack. For dessert I tried their ice cream, cookies, brownies, chocolate lava cake, coconut pie, apple pie, and cinnamon roll. I saw the guy bring out a hot fresh batch of cinnamon roll so I got one and wth they need a new dessert cook! The roll was hard and dry as a rock. Everything else was horrible especially the apple pie. Holy crap it didn’t even taste like apple pie! The dessert section was messy with kids running everywhere having sprinkles and syrup all over the place. The lava cake was such a fail, for god’s sake even souplantation makes it better. All the desserts were bad, save yourself the calories please lol. The ice cream was nasty! I may have liked this place as a kid, but man quality sure went down. Seriously, just go to Souplantation. The quality ISSOMUCHBETTER there! So while eating all of the foods, I didn’t have a stomach ache or anything which surprised me, but I had thought too soon. The next morning, the toilet became my best friend

Omg BEWARE of the cashier named Celeste!!! She’s HORRIBLE!!! She’s always rude and has an attitude problem. She’s been difficult previous times but as I mentioned before in my last review since I’ve been coming here for 23 years I had tried to ignore it. NOTTHISTIMETHOUGH!!! First, she gave us attitude about our coupon even though she always takes it(we just show it to her from our phone). Then she gave us attitude saying it was expired and that she never takes them and I’m like«We come every Sunday and you ALWAYS take them.» So she starts going off telling me I’m wrong and blah blah blah so she calls her manager. Her manager is just as bad! Her last name was Pfmoond. Anyway, she starts saying That they would never take those coupons that I had and blah blah! Really!?? I COMEEVERYWEEKANDYOUALWAYSTAKETHEM!!! Anyway, just know that they are NOT people persons and they do NOT know how to treat customers! I mean I could it expect it from the cashier but a manager??? You’re supposed to set the example and not complain about doing a VOID!!!

A pit stop for Chinese tour busses full of hungry grabby people. Wowser. The food gets the job done, kinda bland American food but hey, nothing was too bad here. I stuck to fried chicken and salad all the way. Lol. And made a taco salad. Gets the job done, gets you full and for cheap if you brought coupons!!!

First time here. Came for a Mothers Day dinner. They had a special menu featuring prime rib and charged $ 2 more for dinner($ 13.99 vs. $ 11.99 for adults). Seniors get a big 50 cent discount on regular menu prices! The special menu was not worth the price and not only because I don’t like prime rib. My family liked the rib but it was a weird, raw salmon-like color. This place was very crowded. There was a line to pay and be seated. The service is good. There are 3 prices for kids, depending on what age range they fall into. The selection is smaller than I expected for a buffet. There’s a salad bar, Mexican food, ham/prime rib/sirloin steak station, comfort food, dessert, and deep fried area. I didn’t come here by choice as I like to eat healthier but the salad bar is decent. Here’s the breakdown: YUM, I WANTSECONDS Corn bread Cornbread stuffing Mashed potatoes Broccoli salad(note: contains bacon. Like the one at Soup Plantation but with shredded cheddar cheese) Corn chowder — although it was room temperature it had a surprising spicy kick Penne w Alfredo sauce, chicken & broccoli Grilled relleno peppers(really spicy!) with queso sauce AVERAGE Chicken noodle soup — too much sweet basil Shredded carrot and raisin Baked potato Baked chicken Baked fish — healthy but bland Popcorn shrimp — mainly tiny pieces(more batter than shrimp) Soft serve ice cream BAD Meat loaf — too sweet even without the sauce ALL Desserts except for the chocolate lava cake(decent) Bread pudding — mushy tastes like a cinnamon roll Peach pie — tasteless mush that looked like apple pie. In my opinion Souplantation is a better value and has better food(their soups rock!). Hometown Buffet will clog your arteries more slowly than Golden Corral. I think the food tasted better at Hometown as well. Parking is plentiful as this is in a strip mall. One last thing: Family night is Thursday, with cotton candy!

Is this place ever not busy? It doesnt seem to matter if you eat here at 3:30pm or 7pm it is always jame packed. With that said the food selection here is amazing. They have great salads and soups, good choice in vegetables and many other options such as pasta, fish, chicken & even ribs, steak & prime rib. I do feel that the prices are a bit higher than other competition in the market but the food is good and the place is respectably clean considering the environment. My major drawback for these types of places is the kids and the rude clientele. People will literally push and shive to get the last corn on the cob or piece of fried chicken. Kids will slam into you with no apology or remorse but this is not the fault of the restaurant. The dessert bar does leave a bit to be desired but thats always a crapshoot at these places. Wish they had more hot desserts such as cobblers or pie instead of just soft serve and pudding. Overall this is a good HomeTown Buffet location and better than a couple others I have tried in the past. We will definitely continue to come here for all of our buffet cravings.
