I liked this place a lot! You get so much food and it’s really cheap. Split the $ 10 special with my friend and I got a chicken katsu plate, mac salad, cabbage, and some soup. Would come here all the time if it was closer to my house!

Items that qualify for the 2 for $ 10 special: #6 — Donkatsu — Deep fried breaded chicken with brown gravy sauce, served with a side of macaroni salad, cabbage salad with thousand island dressing, and a scoop of white rice. #8 — Spaghetti — Spaghetti noodles with red sauce and broccoli #10 — Rice Omelet — Fried rice(rice, broccoli, mushrooms, carrot, onion) wrapped in an egg omelet, served with gravy sauce. #19 — Fried dumplings #20 — Steamed dumplings I ordered the Donkatsu and it came with a side soup and pickled vegetable side dishes. I thought the chicken was a tad dry, but it was $ 5 so who cares. I also ordered the egg the Rice Omelet as my to-go item but I think I’ll skip it next time it’s nothing special, but it did fill me up. The bright side is that everything was neatly put into their own container… meaning each side dish and sauce was separated. There must have been 1 big container for the entrée and 5 small containers for the side dishes and sauces. The lady that worked at the counter is pretty slow… I think she’s somewhat new because she didn’t know the menu items and had to go around from her side and look at the menu board to know what #6 and #10 were. Also, it takes a few minutes for them to cook it so just relax in the small food court, which typically has ample seating. I don’t think anything else is worth getting unless you are taking advantage of the special promotion. However, under the promotion I think they are solid buys since they fill your stomach yet the damage is only minor to your wallet.

Oh no, you’re hungry in Garden Grove with an equally hungry friend who has $ 5. Coincidentally, you have $ 5 too. You’re both tired of phở and don’t have enough for Korean bbq. What to do? Luckily for you, Kongjine, located inside Arirang Supermarket’s food court has been having their 3 Year Anniversary for the last 5 years. Well, not exactly since they’re relatively new this year, but that special has been going on for ages. Under the special, $ 10 can get you a choice of two items out of the following; omurice, tonkatsu w/demi glacé sauce, hamburg steak, steamed dumplings and fried dumplings, Korean version of the Japanese version of spagehtti. Let’s not forget all the other oh-so-necessary sides like soup, macaroni salad, Korean thousand island dressing salad and kimchi. Now that I’ve listed everything, I’m sure smart-eaters/dieters have made note to stear clear. Each item is enough to feed two really hungry people or maybe 3 or 4 moderately hungry people. Or yourself if you’re just THAT hungry. As far as taste, I think it’s amazing. Where else can you get the Korean version of Japanese food that isn’t sushi that’s this cheap around here?
