The food here is good. The chef is always welcome customers with a big smile. So far, this is my favorite sushi in town. Their sushi rolls are very tasty. Me and my girlfriend always share a Hoe Deop Bap bowl. I will definitely come back for more.

Conveniently overlooked by many Kaju Tofu fans, MRS shouldn’t be passed up if you want some pretty fresh and inventive rolls, fried mini octopus, and garlicky, spicy edamame. They’ve got a good size menu of other non-sushi and sashimi options. But, their rolls are pretty yum. Hidden Dragon, All Star, and Tiger rolls aren’t bad! Whether you’re seated at the bar or at a table, the service is the same. The sushi chefs are sort of grumpy or shall I say… serious. Waiters are attentive and nice overall. If you need a break from tofu, stop into MRS!

Fresh fish, great sashimi portions and salmon sushi. Yellowtail sushi was amazing today. Amazing ahl bap, and pretty good heh dup bap. Clean and comfy restaurant. Very nice service.

This is my ninth review in a row I am writing, so apologies if I sound burnt out or just trying to get this over with. There is nothing special I can say about Misoya Rockin’ Sushi. The service was fine, but there is really no draw for me to come back here. Let me take you through a typical visit to Misoya for my wife and I: «Well…Kaju is super crowded and I’m hungry… we can either drive somewhere else or just go to Misoya.» That’s it. That is the basis for coming here. Laziness. And it isn’t bad, it really isn’t. It’s a little expensive, but it isn’t bad. But I’ve had enough sushi to know that«not bad» and«expensive» are a mix I just don’t have to deal with. I can get«not bad» for less elsewhere. And I feel like I’m not the only person who has noticed this, because no one comes here. It is never crowded, ever. It’s really eerie actually, like some sort of Twilight Zone episode. There is never a wait, even on Friday nights, and there are always, ALWAYS two other groups of 2 – 3 people in there. In the same spots. …does this place exist in some sort of temporal anomaly? Are those people trapped there? We need to figure this out and rescue them. Who knows how long they have been eating sushi for.

Truly some of the worst service I’ve had in a long time. The server, a young guy, was extremely brief. He did not seem to know what was going on. We didn’t get our drinks for about 10 – 15 minutes, when we asked a different server. Our food came out after half an hour; the restaurant was not very busy, especially when we first ordered. When one of the members of my group asked for a spicy shrimp hand roll, our server came back and said«we don’t have that.» We didn’t get our edamame until the rest of our food was half gone, not to mention it was not the edamame we ordered. One of our rolls simply never arrived. Our order was not difficult. The food itself was mediocre. The service was completely unacceptable. The only saving grace, the reason I’m giving a second star at all, is the server who tried to redeem the mistakes that our original server made. She is the one who reminded our server to bring our drinks. She also did not charge us for the missing roll(which she sent in a take out box), or for the edamame. At least she was trying to make it up. As a server myself, I tend to not be very critical of other servers because I can easily put myself in their shoes. But this whole experience was completely ridiculous; there was no reason for it to be this complicated.

I like this little sushi joint located next to Kaju Tofu in H Mart plaza. Wait times could be rough since this spot has limited tables and sushi bar seating. The service is prompt and friendly. The sushi chef is skilled with the rolls/sashimi. The fish taste fresh! My fave so far is the hidden dragon roll. It comes with shrimp tempura/avocado/cucumber inside and salmon/smelt egg/dynamite&eel sauce on top. Sooooo yummy! I order this everytime I dine here. Most of the time I order take out. The parking is horrible around HH and weekends. Not the best sushi in town. But, decent enough when I crave raw fish!

Not if I just got here on a bad day, but this place was too expensive and I wasn’t really impressed. Order a variety of stuff: clam sashimi, tuna sushi, albacore sushi, spicy scallop hand roll, and a salad. Albacore sushi was covered in a bit too much Ponzu sauce, but tasted nice. I think the red clam and tuna sushi sat out a bit too long, but they gave me decent sized pieces, and only a bit of rice. Spicy scallop handroll was too spicy for me. Salad had too much dressing and was basically just lettuce with a couple pieces of tomatoes. Service was terrible; the waiter didn’t know anything about the menu; the chef was dull and very silent. I like going to a sushi bar because of the interaction with the chef. The whole atmosphere was just dull and bland. I don’t think I’ll be back.

I ordered the«Dragon Roll» the lady who took my ordered heard me wrong she gave me ” avocado Roll” it was good, just not what I had been craving. I wanted to say something but she was busy, and I was starving and didn’t want to wait any longer. Ehhhhhhh…

Great staff, tragic food. Portions on the teriyaki lunch combo rivaled a child’s meal at other restaurants. The sushi was plain bad. The fish smelled funny and those I ate I regretted once I took a bite. Even the cucumber in the california roll seemed to have been left out too long and was a bit odd tasting. I understand it was Christmas day, but if you’re open I assume you’re ready for normal business. Overall it was a waste of money and I was still hungry after since half my sushi was inedible.

First impression was«OMG that line though!» We wanted to leave, we were hungry! But I decided to call and see if they had tables available and see how long the wait was! However, to my surprise the line was for next door! Once you walk in you get that feeling of being at home. Greeted at the door. Seated, no wait! The waiter was very busy, the place is small but it was full! He had his hands full! But still managed to help everyone! The sushi chef looks like a G back there whipping up magic!!! Waiter stayed on top of our water and made sure we were always taken care of! I will be coming back here!

The pictures and the four stars on Unilocal lured me into trying this place and I think I was two years too late. I think the good reviews and the delicious pictures were posted a few years ago. and a lot has changed because my food did not look like the pictures posted on Unilocal and the flavor wasn’t good as described either. The first warning sign for me should have been the«no wait» on a Friday night during rush dinner time. I called ahead and there was no wait and when I came here an hour later, no wait either. That should have been my call to go somewhere else! The pictures look absolutely delicious but too bad the rolls look NOTHING like them! It is seriously like night and day different!(Look through the Unilocal pictures for the baked salmon roll before and compare it to my baked salmon roll picture!) The sushi rolls here came out very plain with absolutely no design on them. I ordered the: Hidden Dragon Roll, Paparazzi Roll, and the Baked Salmon Roll and they all looked the same and tasted all the same. For $ 12 a roll, I was very shocked at how small it was(each roll has only 5PC) and how much rice there was! I thought it was very boring, too much rice, and very bland. I know this is really sad to say but I think I’ve even had better sushi at Albertsons supermarket… you know, the one that they sell pre-packaged in the refrigerator aisle.

I wanted to try Misoya Rockin’ Sushi because they offered 2 item lunch specials throughout the week. The restaurant is located in the H-Mart Market strip mall and is modern but on the small size. We were warmly welcomed and ordered the following: (1) Miso Soup — Complimentary Before we even ordered, the friendly server brought us two miso soups. The soup was hot and full of flavor. (2) Fried Oysters Appetizer I specifically came to Misoya to try their fried oysters. You receive 5 oysters which are lightly battered and served with a deep & rich soy dipping sauce. Scrumptious! (3) CA Roll Hubby didn’t really care for the CA roll. He said they forgot the magic mayo sauce which makes the CA roll. I had one taste and it was alright… what do you expect? It’s a CA roll? lol (4) Lunch Kitchen 2 — Item Bento Box I ordered the beef bulgogi and pork cutlet which was served with rice, potato crockette, and salad. The beef and potatoe crochette were delish. The pork cutlet was kinda dry and wasn’t very appetizing. Next time I’ll order the fried oyster in lieu of the pork cutlet. (5) Lunch Kitchen 2 — Item Bento Box Hubby ordered the chicken teriyaki and gyoza bento box served with rice, potato crokette and salad. He really enjoyed his choice. I tried his chicken teriyaki and gyoza which were both yummy. Misoya offers tasty bento lunch boxes throughout the week in a casual environment with friendly service. I’m a fan … 4 Stars!

The service was iffy, I won’t lie. It kinda turned me off because I felt awkward walking in, sitting, and trying to flag down a server for the check and water. Luckily though, the food was spectacular. The edamame was spicy and extremely flavorful, and my chicken teriyaki was huuuuge sitting beautifully on a pile of rice and roasted tomato and zucchini. It was really good and I would be back.(To go, of course).

When Kaju is packed, I go to Misoya instead for sushi. The food is consistently good leaving my tummy happy and satisfied. The SPICYTUNASALAD is a must and works great as an appetizer. It’s an iceberg salad with chunks of tuna and roe. The dressing is a blend of sweet, salty, and spicy. During lunch time you can get a smaller version of this in a lunch combo. The HIDDENDRAGONROLL is another favorite for those days that I just don’t want to eat raw seafood. Fried shrimp tempura roll with avocado, cucumber, salmon and eel sauce on top. The flavors are complex and can be quite«heavy» for some, but I love it. The YELLOWTAILSPECIALROLL is a pretty refreshing roll. It reminds me of the yellow tail jalapeño dishes that I so adoring love from Honda Ya. The fish is relatively fresh, but not the freshest I’ve had so I don’t order sushi or sashimi here too often. Forgettable rolls that are probably not worth a try: Rainbow Roll(they should call it boring roll), All-Star Roll, Baked Baby Lobster on California Roll, Salmon Skin Hand Roll(I barely got any salmon skin. barely). Lunch specials are 7 days until 3 pm. Happy Hour is from 3 – 6 pm.

Atmosphere: Casual. Favorite Item: Fire cracker roll. A spicy tuna, crab and jalapeño roll with crispy tempura. Misoya is a great spot in Westminster. We went around 5:00 and it only had a couple people inside so they were attentive. The waiter started by giving us some complimentary miso which was amazing. They have very comparable happy hour prices. Their menu is small but have all the basics. Our server was attentive along with the sushi chef, he notices right away when we finished a roll or hand rolls and quickly sent out another roll.

pretty small dining area, but clean spot. My sister & I ordered 2 of the lunch combo deals. You get to pick 2 items from the list given to you for 12 $ pretty good deal. comes with complimentary miso soup. & I asked for another one at the end & it was still free. *thumbs up* lol. — seafood salad = big portion, the fish is really good, the sauce is decent. — spicy tuna salad = the sauce is good, tuna good, also big portion — dragon roll = SOOOOOMUCHRICE!!! very little filling. no imitation crab? do you know what’s a dragon roll? very little eel & wasn’t that tasty. — all star roll = tasted better than the dragon roll, but again SOOOOOO much rice. like 60% of the roll. oh & I also ordered the spicy octopus nigiri, looks delicious, but it just tasted decent 5 $+ would come here for the salads, not sure about the rolls. maybe I’ll try the rolls that’s not a part of lunch combo & see if it’s better. but just because it’s part of the lunch combo, the quality shouldn’t be less…

But the quality of the food was terrible, the fish was warm and the kitchen food cold. Im sorry i didnt like this place because i did like the sweet and attentive service.
