This place is now called Phở Hung. And it is the shadiest restaurant I have been to and here is why: They chef contacted me regarding my ad on craigslist to purchase a phone. We agree on price and he requests that I come to him. I drive from my home to garden grove to find a chef, a female lady(who i believe is the owner or manager of the restaurant) and another seller claiming to be a «family friend»(who clearly was not). The chef(the one who contacted me and said he wanted to purchase the phone after negotiating price) asks me multiple questions as if he had never read the Ad on craigslist. Then he asks me if I have the black phone instead of the white one(as if I am a reseller). As I tell him I am not a reseller and after a couple more questions he reverts back to the restaurant(leaving the female owner and the other seller with me). The other seller then gets hostile with me and tries to pay me for my gas to go home. The lady tells me that she is not affiliated with this restaurant and that the chef does not want to buy the phone. Then this female manager goes back into the store to speak with customers and get behind the cashiers desk. As I stand outside the restaurant, the female manager finally comes out to tell me that«the person who the chef was buying the phone for no longer wants it». I wanted to let people know that this is what is going on behind the restaurant. And I empower you not to eat here to show people like these that there are consequences to every action. Otherwise, they think they can just get away with leading people on, wasting their time, and lying to them.

Nice phở restaurant addition to the neighborhood. It’s located in a shady looking strip mall, but as soon as you walk in, the interior is spacious, clean, and modern. They had opened only several weeks ago, and everything is new and very organized. It was happy hour when I came: everyday 5−8pm, so I order a small beef bowl and a Thai ice tea for $ 1, tea to cream to ice ratio was very good, not watered down like some other places. The server was super nice and friendly and before too long, I got my bowl of phở. I definitely got alot of phở in the bowl, as well as plenty of mint and bean sprouts which I love. They also have 2 different hot sauce on every table for those of us spicy lovers. Overall a great experience, and the price is unbeatable at happy hour! I will definitely come back and also try some of the other items as well.

Not where you would expect a phở restaurant… I came here with my mom for lunch on a Saturday. We both ordered a small bowl of phở tai(rare beef noodle soup) with a taro smoothie. After waiting patiently for about 10 minutes, the waitress came and gave us complementary bottled water for waiting. She told us that their smoothie machine had broken down and apologized. She asked if we would like to order something else. We said no. We then continued waiting for our bowls of phở. I was starving. We probably waited for 45 minutes. Everyone else that had came to ate was waiting for their food too. Something must have happened and we probably came at a bad time. Our food eventually came out. The broth was good and flavorful but a little salty. The small bowl was really small but enough for my mom and me. Overall, no real complaints on the quality of food. We both enjoyed it. Besides the unusual long wait for food, and their bad luck of the smoothie machine breaking down, the food was okay. The service was good. The girl working was very apologetic and I did feel bad for her and the restaurant owner. They looked very stressed. I liked that this phở place was very clean compared to other phở places. I also like that they take credit cards and there is plenty of parking. Oh and the fact that its nearby our house doesn’t hurt either ;). I’d probably come back since I suspect their wouldn’t be a wait next time and that I would get my smoothie with no problems.

3.5. Straight to the point – Very average phở. Nothing really special enough to make me go that much further to GG over any of the more heralded spots in Westminster. I give them props for being newer, cleaner, and better mannered than most of their WM competitors, but even that isn’t enough for me to have a new go-to noodle soup shop. I do thank them for feeding us free beef special phở on their grand opening weekend. There was a good amount of beef, but the tendon and other intestinal parts were not as tender and chewy as other phở restaurants. The broth was on the saltier side, but not the worst I’ve ever had. They have a lot of appetizer options as well. We got the chicken wings and the egg rolls. I thought that the egg rolls were a little overpriced(5 dollars for 4 small egg rolls), but we enjoyed the lightly fried wings with their dipping sauce. They have a good happy hour for phở it seems, where you’d pay roughly 3 – 4 dollars for a small bowl, so if you like cheap food, I guess that could be a selling point. Maybe I’d come back to try their oxtail phở, but priced at 9 dollars… I’ll probably pass.

Originally I was heading to Phở 2000 but when i pulled up at 1pm on a Tuesday they were closed. So resorting to Unilocal I found Phở OC was just down the street and went there. Phở OC is in a run down looking mini mall in the K District. But looks can be deceiving especially when it comes to phở places so I over looked all that and went in to eat. The waiter/guy running the place was nice and friendly. Great customer service, the phở not so much. There was only a few phos on the menu to choose from and I ordered a small #1, combo bowl with the usually meats in it(Tripe, Tendon, flank, etc.). For a small bowl it was good sized, but the phở broth was some of the greasiest phở broth I have ever seen. My spoon fell into the broth as usually happens when eating phở and it was covered in grease when I pulled it out. That was a total turn off. Considering the area where this place is located, phở places are a dime a dozen and you can do better then this. I hate to give a bad review cause the waiter was really nice and had a great demeanor, but the phở not be so good.

Sum of it all: app, 3 dishes, 3 drinks for around $ 25+tip. Good service, good food! Deserves more business than they’re getting! Came here for dinner for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. During happy hour(don’t remember the house but dined there around 6pm) they have Both chicken and beef phở for a more than affordable price and best of all. THAITEAFOR A DOLLAR. Even at regular price(1.50) that’s a deal compared to other Asian restaurants. For appetizers we got the 10 piece buffalo wings. Weird for a phở spot but tasted great! Nice light crunchy batter on the chicken which was quite meaty as well. Tossed lightly in a traditional buffalo sauce. I appreciated the fact that it wasn’t drenched in sauce and would definitely order it again. My brother and SIL both got the beef phở. Delicious broth! I got the Com Thit Nuong(?). A grilled pork dish that came with traditional broth soup and dipping sauce. The pork wasn’t as sweet as other places that I had it at which I appreciated. Great portion size. Good flavors.

If you’re ever craving Phở, come here! It’s absolutely delicious. And don’t forget to order the spring rolls; you won’t regret it. Oh, and make sure you top it all off with a cool, freshly-made Smoothie! Phở — 10⁄10(They offer Small orders during lunch hours for a measly $ 3.00 — perfect size for somebody who doesn’t want to eat too much.) Staff friendliness — 10⁄10(The owner is extremely kind and shows big appreciation for his customers. His positive energy will rub off on you.) Resturant cleanliness — 10⁄10(It’s a relatively new establishment so it’s very clean. They also did a very nice job with the interior design.) If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely come back. In the meantime I’ll be recommending the place to my friends.
