As a long time doughnut aficionado and coffee lover I have been very pleased with the quality and service here at Rainbow Donut ;) This is my favorite Little Saigon doughnut shop it’s open 24hours and it’s at a great location with plenty of parking. I like the friendly doughnut hostesses there and it’s kept very clean. The selection and variety of pastries will vary through the day and evening as is typical of any doughnut shop. I’ve always been able find some special doughnut or muffin on my visits. It’s at the corner area of Brookhurst St. and Westminster Ave. minutes from the neighboring cities of Anaheim Santa Ana Stanton Westminster and Fountain Valley a perfect location to meet up with friends or for a secret rendezvous with a lover ;)) And as Giulia my Italian lady friend likes to say,.Provare per credere! «Seeing is believing!» ;))

below average donuts are just ok there was a time this was the best donut shop around, not anymore. Stale taste even when ‘fresh’. take a pass on this place

The donuts are your average donut. This is a place where a few homeless people hangout. I was craving a donut this morning and stopped here in desperation. I will never come back. It’s not exactly clean and a homeless woman sat inside bantering everyone who walked in. Cussing, saying rude things and the employees didn’t even ask her to leave. It made me really uncomfortable and I did not enjoy my experience. I would not recommend this place.

After exiting Banh mi Che Cali with some good banh mi yesterday evening, I drove past this donut shop at the corner of rite aid.(Yes, it was on Thanksgiving day yesterday, but the turkey wasn’t ready yet, so off I went!) Suddenly, my belly craved for some donutty goodness, and I had to stop to get me some donuts. The donut display was full of donuts and I wanted to try classic ones to see if they taste good, so I got the plain yeasted glazed donut and the maple bar. Each was $ 0.85 so total was $ 1.70. Despite looking fluffy and sugary deliciousness, the donut wasn’t all that great, tasted kinda greasy, fresh but not delicious. I’ve had better donuts from grocery stores like Ralphs and Vons for cheaper. There was a 24h sign, wow… They really do live in donut land.

I go to Rainbow mostly because it is so convenient and the lady that usually works there is so friendly and she always gives me good service. As far as the donuts go they are okay but they definitely aren’t the best or worst I’ve had. When I’ve purchased donuts here they have been pretty good and not as dry as some other donut places. So that is a slight plus. I’ve purchased the apple fritters here a couple of times and I can honestly say this is not my favorite donut store for that particular type of donut just because I like my apple fritter to have the crystallized sugar on it where its almost crispy. The apple fritters here are too smooth and just seem like they have a glaze on them. No. no. no… But all in all this donut shop doesn’t seem so bad if your just having a sugar craving and you just want some convenience if you happen to work or live close by. They also sell the usual coffee and milk here also. I hear the donut selection doesn’t seem to be as good later in the day and parking can sometimes be a hassle just because of the strip mall it happens to be located at… Busy! All in all this donut shop isn’t so bad and it works out well especially if your in the area.

All donuts are the same, except here. The donuts are dry, even when fresh.

Occasionally, I have donut cravings. Usually they’re smack dab in the middle of the night when most donut shops nearby are closed. My sister told me about Rainbow Donuts. Based on her recommendation I went there. They have a fair variety to choose from. They aren’t the best I’ve tasted, they’re ok. A downside, there always seems to be a drunk and/or homeless individual or two sleeping against the building outside near the front door. And the last time I was in there a meth head was being a bit too rowdy inside. Tonight was a disappointment. I’m a visual individual, I choose my donuts based on what they look like. They’re a feast for my eyes as well as my stomach. My boyfriend stopped in to get us a couple of donuts. Because I wasn’t there I requested he send me a pic of what they had in stock since I wasn’t entirely certain which kind I wanted. Apparently, that was unacceptable to the owner. What I understood was that the proprietor was not interested in helping a customer make a more informed decision and spend money at their business. To me, that seems odd. We didn’t want any images of the store or any of the people in the store, just the donuts so I could tell him which ones I wanted to buy. Despite explaining this to the man, he still wouldn’t allow my boyfriend to take any pictures. Ok. It’s his business, his rules. It’s also our money and our decision on where to spend it. Since I was at home I jumped onto Unilocal!I found a better, higher rated, donut shop just around the corner; King’s Donuts over on Garden Grove Blvd. They were open and reviewers had posted images about their finds. I sent the address info to my boyfriend, he left Rainbow Donuts, and bought us delicious donuts from King’s instead. We both decided we didn’t need to shop at Rainbow Donuts any longer.

While Holly W. went to the Rainbow Donuts in Westminster… I went to the one in Garden Grove. I’m assuming like most of their branches they are open 24 hours and conveniently enough fellow Unilocaler Steve N. and I needed our desires to be met. We dropped in about 10:30pm, after coming from Phở 54 for dinner and decided this would be a good place to grab some sweets. Steve N. discussed his unusual liking to donuts but I convinced him perhaps this place will make the difference. After looking through what seem to be a gallery of Apple Fritters, Bear Claws, Cinnamon Rolls, and Donuts surely this Asian owned place will live up to some degree of standards. We ordered: –1 Maple Bar(non-filling) –1 Chocolate Bar Donut(non filled) switched for; –1 Chocolate Bar filled with Custard –1 small bottle of milk The total came out to be $ 3.50 or something alone those lines. After I chomped into my Maple Bar I found out this place, didn’t have custard in them I wanted to shed a tear. Only because it’s always been a guarantee for me growing up, especially after going into donut shops. Steve’s patience paid off for trade off with custard in it… lucky bastard. After conversing with another customer and the patron of the place we finally left… filled with donut goodness… tada.
