I was referred to Dr. Woods by a client of mine. Boy am I so glad.
We love taking our pup here. Dr. Woods and his staff and friendly and efficient. They even test our pup to see if he’s still protected by his previously given vaccines, if he is there is no need to fill our little guy with more chemicals.
Would recommend taking your pets here. He also does holistic vet work, which I find really awesome!

I have been going to Dr. Woods for about a year and a half. He and his staff are always amazing. They are kind, caring, and very available so I don’t know what anyone is saying about limited availability or them asking you to pay first and upfront.
I had tried to see a local vet near me in Dana Point as it’s a 45-​minute drive for me to see Dr. Woods, but that mobile vet mishandled my dog’s blood sample and then told me she had kidney failure! This after having been in Dr. Woods’ care. Dr. Woods took one look at the bloodwork and said he thought the blood sample was mishandled. He retook it and sure enough all levels were normal. I really appreciate the way they will work me in whenever I need to see him and call you back with results right away — if not while you are still in their office. Dr. Woods doesn’t push anything you don’t need and he really cares about your pets. I would never see another vet for my dog.

Limited availability. The only thing they want is your checkbook first. Oh, initial consult $ 90 half up front. It’s hard enough dealing with an illness of your pet without feeling like if you don’t pay upfront you can’t even get an appointment. We can see what the priority is before we ever walked in the door. Sad too see this policy.

Smart, practical, excellent versatility in standards of traditional veterinary medicine, plus willing to do whatever Chinese and alternative techniques will work for acupuncture, homeopathy, and diet. My brilliant functional medicine recommended him repeatedly and he is worth the drive. My cats are finally stable!

I have been going to Dr. Woods since my pups were babies and needed their initial vaccinations. I went to another vet with the pups’ mother and when they were first born, but chose to go to him since my friend referred me. I loved how cautious he was with spacing out their vaccinations and medications to not overwhelm their small bodies. The other vet wanted me to do everything within a couple weeks and I was scared that it would hurt them by having so many shots within a short period of time. I also love that he gives me natural options to treat them and will give me advice over the phone. I may pay a little more for him since he also offers holistic services, but you get what you pay for! I will gladly pay a bit more for someone that cares about my dogs’ well being instead of turning a dollar or getting them out ASAP to get another client in immediately after.

Today was my first visit and it definitely won’t be my last! He was super helpful and nice! Usually my dog is really stressed out when we go to the vet, shaking/​panting, but his lovely assistants gave her some memory foam pads to lay down on and she fell asleep! I am so happy with this vet clinic! Dr. Woods doesn’t push anything unnecessary on you, he cares about your budget and gives you options!

Simply the best as always. He takes his time with your dog and you. You definitely come here to develop a relationship with your vet not just a quickie shot and see you.

My dog was sick he can barely walk he have a problem with his hip. I’m just move to this part of the city and I was looking for a good Veterinarian close by and I read a lot of the «good» reviews but I definitely pick the wrong one, I paid over $ 700 for nothing after one month treatment he still the same so I have to drove back far for my old Vet who help him in a bit of time and way less expensive than this Doctor, I do believe in natural stuff but I pay a lot here for nothing

Given, I haven’t even gone into the office, I called to get a quote on vaccines and a spay for my kitten, but $ 600 for both of those things are beyond outrageous. The amount of tests and the procedure of it is ridiculous. $ 600! You can get a root canal for that much

We were recomnended to Dr. Woods by some fanatical dog owners. Dr. Woods was the fifth opinion regarding our dog’s knee surgery. He was the only doctor that made us feel confident in our decision to have the surgery. We appreciated his straight forward attitude and opinion.

Paid $ 30.00 for a physical because, to get the vaccines you had to have a physical. Dr Woods listened to our dogs heart and looked in her mouth and that was the extent of the physical. Over paid for shots and the Physical was a Waste
Will not return to this clinic

This was the worst experience ever. My dog had a hot spot on her face and my normal vet was out. So I had to find someone to help. I went here because most of the reviews were good. Long story short, I wanted her face shaved so the wound could heal. He told me he would rather not shave her and gave me some meds and a medicated shampoo to put on her face and wash each day. About 6 days later I noticed it got much worse. I had my groomer come over as I asked if she would shave her face. Once she got here she told me I needed to take her to a vet. She recommended a different place where they shaved her and gave me a new spray to spray on the infected area. Needless to say I first spent about $ 270.00 for this guy and my second visit where she actually got what she needed was only $ 89.00. I am so angry as I did not have the extra money and this guy did not actually help at all. Do not go here it’s expensive and in my opinion they take short cuts. Not a very professional environment. Oh and the fabric dog cone is not a good product first it’s cloth so it holds orders and germs so you need to put it in the wash and second it flips backwards. Stick with the plastic ones they are cleaner and actually work. A bad recommendation by this office.

I love this vet. I just recently moved here and both of my dogs needed to see a vet, due to illness, at the most inconvenient times on the weekend. Even tho they were super booked, they took them in and made time to see them. Dr. Woods is super smart and doesn’t try to take advantage of you. He genuinely cares for animals and wants to do best by them.

I am so grateful to have found Dr Woods and his staff! This is the third vet I have been to, and I finally feel that I can trust my vet to give my dog the best care possible. I no longer have to worry that the first line of therapy for any problem will be to pump my dog full of toxic medication. That gives me great relief for the well being of my dog Pugsy.
And his staff is great… My dog is not the easiest to deal with… he’s a small dog with a big, loud bark that he uses a lot. But they are all so patient and sweet with him which means a lot to us. And yesterday, one of his staff even gave us a jump start when my car wouldn’t start. Now that is going above and beyond! Thanks so much to all of you!

I am extremely demanding when it comes to my dog’s health and am very particular with who I want to work with as a vet. I ask a million questions and it is sometimes annoying for many vets. Today I had my first appointment with Woods and am extremely happy with his clear explanation and knowledge. He took the time to answer all of my questions (didn’t seem annoyed with my many questions) and seemed sincerely concerned about my dog’s health. He discussed several options with me related to diet and homeopathic remedies we can try. Additionally, he took the time to read all of my dog’s files, which were from my previous vet in another state and began discussing his past history as soon as he walked into the examination room — which showed to me that he takes the time to get to know his patient’s health history. Glad I found him. Highly recommend him.

I have been searching for a holistic vet since mine retired years ago! I have been through a lot of so called holistic vets — i find that most holistic vets use the word and are even licensed but don’t know what it truly means to be holistic and nearly 100% of the time a natural treatment is NOT their first line of defense.
So yet another search of the AHVMA website and Dr. Woods popped up and while not down the street i have driven further for vet care. AND just the fact that he works in the same building as Dr. Jean Dodds, who i have long been a fan of her work regarding vaccinations — made it kind of an easy sell.
I was not disappointed. From the first call I made to make an appointment i was impressed the receptionist was super helpful and advised me of the Unilocal deal that was available to put towards my first visit. I am all about saving money.
When I arrived the staff was super helpful and friendly, my dog was weighed and we were put right in a room, but we were not forgotten — Dr. Woods came right in even though we were early for our appointment.
Dr. Woods is very respectful and kind — he honored my wishes to try a natural approach to treat my dog. He had lots of great suggestions AND he even sent me home with real homepathic remedies and supplements to use! I knew right then that i would be back. He is the first holistic vet I have seen since mine retired that even mentioned supplements and homeopathic remedies as a form of treatment!
I feel Dr. Woods is intuitive which is the part that i find is missing in most holistic vets and which is a big part of why I will be back!
I highly recommend Dr. Woods — even if you are not interested in holistic/​natural treatments — I do believe that Dr. Woods is well versed in both conventional and holistic veterinary treatments.

Just earlier this week, Chewbacca had another allergic reaction this time in his ear. He was in a lot of discomfort. Although Dr Woods was completely booked for that day & the two following it, they let me drop him off so they could try to see him in between appointments. In less than 4hrs, he was treated & I was on my way to pick him up. I can’t express how grateful I was that the staff could accommodate him.
The first time Chewbacca had an ear infection, we took him to a local pet hospital. It cost us over $ 300 first visit, & $ 150 the second (they had split up the treatment into two visits, no idea why) and also had to heavily sedate him.
1.) I’ve never had to pay anything close to that at Dr Woods
2.) He’s never had to heavily sedate my dog either
No more pet hospitals, just Dr Woods & his great staff.

When your dog aka Son is sick. or not looking his finest… as a mom you’re always worried.
Wish my son could have been insured with the Obamacare. is that even working now?
anyways, i didn’t have pet insurance. he’s not sick all the time. But odd things sometimes comes up. Snoopy aka the cutest dachshund ever! lol. had a blister/​growth on his lip. I found him chewing his owl plush toy one night and the owl was all red in a blood bath/​stained. So i was worried… what’s wrong with my puppy? but he’s not crying or anything. he’s one tough boy.
So i searched around for a vet that is good. Came across Dr. Woods. I was intriqued by the hollistic healing done by a white doctor from OHIO. I was like” yay, fellow midwesterner… but he might be a buckeye fan… hmm.” :)
anyways, called the office. The ladies were nice. When i asked what’s the office visit fee? she says Hollistic or regular? Hollistic was $ 85 and regular was $ 45. (but your can get Unilocal discount)
so i stopped by on my off friday and saw Dr. Woods. He was very friendly and caring. I am amazed that snoopy didn’t try to growl. And he gives me pointers what is needed and what’s not needed.
I even came back the second time, when I found Snoopy to have bulge on his rib cage. Dr woods gave him Yunnan Baiyao. Amazing!

Dr. Woods’ office is one of Evie’s, our boxer puppy, favorite places to visit. The staff is very friendly and the office is lively and welcoming. As far as the administrative stuff goes, they handle our pet insurance independently and my wife and I don’t have to do anything. It just took one signed form and now we just let them handle it.
Dr. Woods is very attentive and thorough. He very quickly briefed us on his concerns with the boxer breed and gave us his longterm recommendations for vaccinations and future care. He is also patient with us when we are freaking out or have any «silly» questions.
Last week, Evie got really sick and my wife was out of town. I took her in without an appointment and he saw her and immediately said he wanted to keep her throughout the day. She ended up having pneumonia. I was told that I could pick her up at the end of the day and then I would have to bring her back the next morning.
What really made a big deal was when I went to pick her up, he wasn’t there and the nurse explained everything I had to do. He had been making a house call. But at 7:30PM he gave me a call and said that he wanted to make sure and touch base with me and discuss all the potential issues that might arise with her pneumonia. I thought this was very considerate of him and I appreciate his extra effort.
Evie is currently on the mend and I know my wife and I would have gone crazy without Dr. Woods’ help. In addition, they always have free toys for Evie!

Dr. Woods and his staff have a fantastic demeanor with animals as well as humans! From the time we called to make our first appointment, his office staff was efficient, friendly, and helpful. They were so gentle with my little shy guy Henry, who had just recently been adopted and was scared of pretty much everything. Dr. Woods was the same way, handling him in a way that didn’t freak him out at all.
Dr. Woods places an emphasis on homeopathic remedies for your pets’ health concerns, but he’s the type that will let you know that when the natural stuff doesn’t work, you don’t have to feel guilty about using regular medication sometimes. That being said, I love how he always tried to go the natural route, and we’ve been using and loving the products we purchased at his office. I also love how clear they are in writing down prescription instructions for you, as it’s really hard to keep that kind of stuff straight when you’re back home!
I’d definitely be a regular patient if we lived closer. As it is, i’m still planning on taking Henry there for his regular checkups. I’m a huge fan!
