I was enticed by the pictured menu they posted on their wall so I was going to try the sundae(pork blood sausage) but the lady talked me into trying the ham hock also, claiming that was their specialty for the past 15 years and that there are skin benefits to eating pigs feet. I say sure, why not. $ 41 total. I was glad she talked me into that because I really didn’t like the blood sausage. Definitely a gag reflex thing… I didn’t think there was a taste left for me to acquire but that was hardcore. I couldn’t stomach it, every bite was a nightmare. The jokbal(braised ham hock or pig trotters) was actually very good. Done perfectly and great with rice and kim chi, which I requested more of with my takeout. Fresh garlic and jalapeño slices as well. If you eat there in the food court, they set your table and bring the foods out to you. Pretty nice situation, I’ll say. I just hated that blood sausage, tasted like old cooked blood and porky headcheese.

I always like to pick up some soondae when visiting my parents, and now this place is my go-to. I can’t remember how I found out about it( Unilocal, most likely), but they serve up some seriously good stuff here. Located in the food court inside the Garden Grove H Mart, it’s run by a very nice middle-aged Korean lady and her cohorts. The soondae here is always fresh and they give you a lot per order. After having tried their soondae a few times I decided to give their jok bal(pigs feet) a try. I did not eat a lot of jok bal growing up so I’m not that familiar with it, but after reading the glowing reviews(and seeing the pictures) I wanted to see what it was all about. Well, it’s probably still a taste sensation that might be a bit off the beaten path for most, but I really dug it. I loved the seasoning and the chewy texture of the skin, plus all the condiments you combine it with to suit your personal taste. I’m a fan! Now I get their $ 30 soondae and jok bal combo whenever I visit the parentals. FYI, the name roughly translates as «Famous King(Giant) Pigs Feet,» which sounds a lot better in Korean. STEPHJUDGEMENT: Legit soondae and jok bal served with a smile(and perhaps a prayer) in a convenient food court.

This place is probably the best soondae/jokbal place you will find around the area. If you are looking for some good jookbal, this is the place for you. The price is just right and the taste is even better. I was not disappointed agter my first try and i now became a regular of the store. For 30 dollars you can get the combo. Which is excellent quality.

Maybe it’s because my mom is a regular here, but the ajummas were sooo nice and they even gave us an extra container of yeolmu kimchi because I was visiting CA for 2 weeks. Once home, we unpacked our feast: a box of jok bal, the delicious shrimpy sauce, a box of lettuce and sliced cucumber for wrapping, a container of ssamjang, a container of raw garlic and jalapenos, two containers of rice, a portion of kaktugi, and the two portions of yeolmu kimchi. The jok bal was still warm; delicious dipped in the shrimp sauce or wrapped in the lettuce with a smear of ssamjang. The kaktugi was also very nice with good crunch and served in big slices. My favourite condiment turned out to be the yeolmu kimchi; I’m glad she gave us two of them! The next day the jok bal still tasted good after reheating in the microwave. Jok bal sandwiches, anyone? I’ll definitely come back when the jok bal craving strikes again.

Oh man, I had really high hopes for this place being a big fan of soondae(Korean blood sausage) and jokbal(Korean ham hock) but it wasn’t meant to be… I talked a couple people into coming here and felt so bad because the food sucked! The jokbal especially was no bueno. It didn’t taste very fresh first of all and was too hard and cold. I talked the lady who took our order into giving us some sliced liver too but they were also dry and old tasting. The soondae was the only thing that wasn’t horrible but overall we should’ve spent our $ 30 elsewhere…

I was craving jokbal one day and decided to give this place a shot since I’ve heard good things… Meh. I’ve experienced better. They completely killed the taste of jokbal by adding way too much sesame oil on the outer layer. It was way too overpowering, and I left with disappointed and $ 30 less in my wallet. I don’t know how the rest of their food is, but as for their pork hock(jokbal). I’ll stick to Seoul Soondae in Artesia.

Got the large jokbal set to go for 25.00. Portions were huge! It came with lettuce, ssamjang, raw garlic, fermented shrimp-saeujeot, peppers, and even free rice as service. The ajumma’s working there were very friendly. The jokbal here is pretty good-well seasoned and chewy but not too chewy. I am very happy to find a jokbal place so close to my house!

It’s inside a food court. The quality of food and the service were just as good as most sitdown places. Highly recommended!

I came here for soondae and was extremely disappointed. My friend and I ordered the soondae and jokbal combo and I felt the portions were small. There was only 2 lines of the soondae! This cost $ 30. I can go to Seoul soondae, order a medium for $ 15 and have my fill.

I never knew what this place was for the longest time. One of the four food stalls inside H-mart and the only place with only old patrons. The menu is entirely in Korean but pointing is a universal language. The first time I ordered the bossam and boy was it massive. There was enough to feed 5 people! There was a bunch of different kimchi /pickles that I didn’t even get to. The meat was super moist, warm and juicy. Nice ratio of meat to fat. They included a gigantic thing of raw garlic and peppers for your enjoyment so don’t expect to make out after this meal. The two sauces that include the fermented shrimp paired perfectly with the bossam. I ended up eating one order for 3 days straight. The second time I got the soondae soup. Lots of yummy soondae and pigs innards in the soup. I didn’t realized you had to season the soup yourself so it was quite bland but I dump the kimchi juices into my soup it added a little flavor. Overall decent price and good portion. They take credit cards so that’s pretty awesome.

This place is amazing! The owner is sooo extremely friendly too! My bf and I go to this place all the time for the soondae(blood sausage) and jok bal(pig feet). They are seasoned just right in its chewy goodness. The owner gives us yul moo(young radish) kimchi and boochoo jun(chive cake) every time we go(from the beginning, when we weren’t regulars– she is so sweet!) We tried the dwe jee gal bee jjim(short pork rib stew) and it was really yummy too! This is a casual place in a cafeteria off to the side of H mart so the atmosphere is nice for pigging out in a relaxed setting. I highly highly recommend this place!

My friends and I met at the food court to eat dinner. I had ordered the bibimbap at Dae Geum Jae or something. My friend’s bf had ordered the Korean sausage. When it came out he tells me to try it. Looking at it the clear/white noodles looked like(I apologize) little maggots. But I’m always up for trying new food so I tasted it. I must say it was good and especially with the noodles. You get salt and also a sauce which looks like fish sauce with tiny shrimp… yummy too.

It’s a food court stand located inside California Farmers Market, next to Myung In dumpling. Whenever I togo dumpling and jjin bbang from Myung In, I wanted to try this out. Since Soon dae(Korean sausage) is always my comfort food and jok bal(smoked pig’s leg) is my mom’s, today I had Soon dae & Jok bal combo — $ 22.00, this is not on the menu. Both are really good. Price is reasonable and the portion is enough for three soon dae and jok bal lovers. For Togo, they offer me 3 dipping sauces and lettuce. I will definitely go back to try soon dae soup soon.
