This place was all right it seem kind of empty but the drinks were had a good price. Drinks are not too expensive so you can take a friend there. Bartender was nice

I have to say I really miss the old, hole in the wall Bruddahs in Old Gardena. it had a better, small diner/hometown atmosphere. this location is basically a bar and barely a grill. it’s hard to dine with the heavy smell of smoke in the air or the furniture. I get it, it’s a sports bar now but that just means their great menu got pushed to the side. the food was still good but I don’t think people really go there for that anymore.

Went on a band night to celebrate friend’s birthday, Had a great time. Food was good. Owner was very very nice and friendly, made the experience really good. It could be consider a divey, but it’s clean and spacious. Great place for a personal party!

Went this past Friday it was open mic night $ 5 entry, I vibes were great. I loved watching the different performances. Very chill spot on the down sound I wanted a jungle juice and they were all out to I settled for a Mai Thai which had little to no alcohol whatsoever, not worth the $ 8! My advice get a lil tipsy before going and just buy a few shots. Giving 5 just because the vibes were great and i loved listening to everyone’s performances.

I’ve been here several times for lunch, I understand they’re not open during the week for lunch anymore. Food is so so. I’m told the big draw is the happy hour prices. I’ll probably stop again, but it isn’t my first option.

We ordered the oxtail soup, wonton min w/veggies and fried spam musubi. I’ve been trying to go back ever since. Both of the broths were SO flavorful. The oxtail was so tender and the wontons were seasoned perfectly. Don’t even get me started on the fried spam musubi. The only reason it’s not a five star is because the waitress got our order and drinks mixed up but the good food made up for it.

Finally came here but for an event well for one this place is much bigger than where it was previously on Gardena Blvd. Lots more parking, lots of room inside and a bar. Food is still good and staff is friendly and cool. A very nice place to hang out for the good eats or happy hour. Will be back.

From 4.5 stars to 3 because they no longer serve breakfast and are not opeining until 3pm. They already don’t serve food on Mondays. This is just odd for a restaurant, especially on for Monday night football. And now I can’t take my friends for a Loco Moco on the weekend mornings. Not happy about this. Guess I have to find another Hawaii place to hang out. Too bad. I loved their Pokey and lots of other things too.

Came in randomly on a Friday night and ended up coming back the next night. That’s got to say something! I don’t live too far away and drive by this place all the time. To be candid, I was afraid to come here because I thought it was a «locals only» kind of spot. I couldn’t be more wrong. Yes it has an island feel, but the bartenders and owner are more than welcoming. If you’re looking for a place to drink, you got it. If you’re looking for place to have some Hawaiian food, you got it. If you’re looking for a place to have a good time, eat good food, and feel welcome — this is the place.

Lousy pours and food was unexciting. Apparently Long Island of more than 90% «splash of coke» doesn’t count as a well for hh. Service was bleh. Overpriced, dingy, bland and uninspired. No thanks.

Nice place to come for food and drinks. I like the food. I tried the tater tot nachos. Love anything tater tots. Deep fried spam musubi. Sounded better than it tasted. I love spam and spam musubi but this just didn’t do much for me. Much rather have regular spam musubi. That’s saying a lot because I love fried food. Also had the wings. they were just regular. Nothing special nothing bad. The employees here are nice and friendly. The atmosphere in this spot is mellow. I believe that is what they are going for. They have music and bands that play there. The people are nice. Cool spot to chill for happy hour or a drink or five. I only wish they weren’t so light handed on their pours. My drinks tasted like there was no Jameson in it. I saw him pour the alcohol in the glass but it was like a splash. The previous times I have come the pours were a little better but this last time my drink tasted like semi-sweet water. This was also because the ginger ale they poured was flat. Not sure what happened but please don’t let this bar go downhill. Pick it back up guys!

.God. Can I puke that out and start all over again Good. I could be exaggerating, the laid back Hawaiian music may have had something to do with it, but I am in my rare happy eating moods in this place. We had the oxtail soup, chicken katsu, teriyaki beef, inihaw baboy. Everything came with macaroni salad and rice. And everything transported me back to that fuzzy feeling of eating a home cooked, warm meal. The beef teriyaki was tender and the T sauce really good with the right amount of sweetness. The oxtail could fall a little off the bones but that’s allright. Chicken katsu was crunchy and didn’t have a greasy feel to it. For the price, it is great. There’s a bar, didn’t hear one bad song from the machine. Pool table at the side, worn carpets on the floor. Could do with a little ventilation but you didn’t come for the ambience. Will be coming back a lot.

Okay so my first reaction when I entered this location was«What in the world…» but after being greeted by the staff I started becoming more open minded. The décor has to be updates a little and be more inviting, but the food is DELICIOUS. I’ve been to maui hawaii and this place is definitely very autherntic. The spam masubi is to die for and let’s not mention the ahi poke. The food is extremely flavorful and the staff are truly a delight.

Didn’t try the food but went for drinks, horrible customer service. The bartender would take our orders then she would go make 5 other people’s drinks THEN start making ours. We even made easy and ordered shots, she then went on to pretty much clear the bar with everyone else’s drinks then finally made ours. Was not friendly and will not go back again. And you better know what your are ordering or she will skip you. I said I’ll have a beer and I looked at my friend and he was thinking of what to get and she moved on to the next person. If your a reg. your good, they were taking care of them. But if it’s your first time… May the force be with you.

Went here with the family before heading to the Dodger Game. Place was not crowded and there was only one server working. Ordered Banana pancakes(did not have any bananas in there); the corned beef hash was just potatoes fried; ordered mystery eggs that never showed up. The fried rice was very wet looking and did not taste good at all. Even the water they served us tasted funny. The server seemed uninterested and was on the phone most of the time. We will never come back here again.

For my 50th Review this year, I wanted to share a new/old place. I had been to the tiny old location on Gardena Blvd before. However, this was my first visit to the new, bigger location w/a bar. Bruddah’s is on Redondo Beach Blvd, near Normandie in Gardena. We didn’t have plate lunches, just pupus(apps). Our order consisted of tater tot nachos w/bacon bits($ 6), wings($ 5⁄6), and ahi poke($ 10). Other pupus on the menu included fried musubi, sliders and fries. To drink, we had Hinano from the birthplace of Polynesian culture, Tahiti($ 4.50). If you want a bucket of 6 domestics, its only $ 12 from 4 pm til 8 pm. I’ll start w/the lowest rated pupu first. You can’t drink during Happy Hour in Hawai’i and not eat poke. Unfortunately, Bruddah’s version was just OK. There was too much shoyu(soy sauce). Too much shoyu tends to cook the fish, and it doesn’t taste as fresh. Also missing was more sesame oil: 3 Stars. Secondarily, the wings were very good. They came out piping out, and had nice heat. The only downside was one of the wings was small(but not as small as the one at previously reviewed The Pan): 4 Stars. Lastly, the tater tots were akamai(genius or smart), The tots were nice & crispy, and stood up well to the cheese sauce. In addition, there was a fair amount of bacon: 5 Stars. The ambiance is sports bar w/darts as you walk in, a pool table towards the back, and you have to walk up to the bar to get a drink. Dining tables are directly in front of the bar, but no one was eating. However, it was nice they had some Hawaiian reggae in the background: 4 Stars. Mike, the bartender was super cool. He kept the beer coming, and the food came out quickly: 4 Stars. I think I have found my new watering hole by my office. The scene is chill, the beer is cold, and the pupus are cheap. What more could you ask for except chicks? LMAO!!!

Food is ok. Customer service lacks effort. I came in for lunch and was basically the only person there, but it seemed as if she was very busy.

4 stars for the $ 2 domestic HH beer price until 8:00pm, the roominess of the establishment, and attentiveness of the bartenders. 3 stars only for the food simply because most items are too salty. The preparation itself is pretty authentic, but ease up on the salt guys! The loco moco is one of the exceptions and they do it pretty well.

I wanted to love this place. I remember going to the original location as a keiki with my family. I remember trying to squeeze my family into the old storefront location. I remember when the original owners split and we started alternating between Bruddah’s and Aloha Café to not show favoritism. Slowly over time, we stopped going to Bruddah’s. I was excited to try this reinvention of the original restaurant. It was a lazy Saturday afternoon. There were a few people in the bar eating/drinking and only maybe 3 other tables occupied in the restaurant area. The air wasn’t on and the front and back doors were wide open. This might be Hawaiian style, but I didn’t like the flies buzzing around me while I ate. The table we sat at was sticky/dirty, and the waitress apologized and noted something about the bar crowd from the previous night. There was one waitress hustling to cover all the patrons in the restaurant and bar areas while two other young women were leisurely walking around, laughing and putzing. It would have been nice if one or both of them would have helped out since the service was slow. We tried two of the Saturday specials. The Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs were yummy. It really did bring back memories of the original restaurant, which made me think they are still using some of the original recipes. The sauce was thick and sweet, but I would have loved more chunks of pineapple. It was a generous portion of ribs with two scoops of rice and one scoop mac salad. The fried saimin was just terrible. It was a small and sad looking portion. The saimin was hard and crunchy, which was a terrible disappointment. Maybe it was a good thing that they hardly put any on the plate, since it really wasn’t edible. The second plate was the laulau. The laulau portion was smaller than what Aloha Café is currently serving(on those lucky days they actually have it — which is almost never). The pork was tender and it had the mandatory piece of butterfish thrown in. The only negative was the taro leaves were salty. Usually laulau is a dish with little seasoning needed, but it seemed like they had a unnecessarily heavy hand just on the greens(the pork was perfect). I always look forward to the tender taro, so it was a huge disappointment that we left most of the taro still on the plate. The sides were generous portions of lomi and chicken long rice. There was a nice ratio of salmon to tomatoes and onions in the lomilomi. The chicken long rice was good, but more ginger(with chunks of actual fresh ginger) would have made the dish just perfect. Despite this being a mediocre review, I will be back. There are a few other dishes I want to try to see if it tastes the same as the old Bruddah’s. The true test will be me bringing my mom to see if the oxtail passes her palate. Look for an update review in the future. I hope it gets better.

My friends like Bruddah and I’d been wanting to try this place for more than 4 years. Finally I got a chance to try the famous Bruddah and I was very disappointed. The place was pretty much empty when we got there. There was only 1 table before us and they were done eating when we got there. We were seated, ordered and waited and waited and waited and waited Another group of probably 6 people came after us and ordered. We were still waiting for our food. I guess I looked pretty grumpy because the nice bartender came and asked if we waited a long time. Pop quiz: how long did it take to cook scrambled egg and cha siu at an empty restaurant? Answer: almost 30 minutes. I almost wanted to go to the kitchen myself to help them out because I was starving. Eggs & things: scrambled egg with cha siu($ 6.99): the scrambled egg was good(come one. it’s scrambled egg) but the cha siu was terrible. I ate the egg and its Hawaiian bread. I tasted the Portuguese sausage and it was salty and dry. The waitresses were friendly but I was very disappointed with the food. They comped one of our meals and that’s the reason why I didn’t give Bruddah 1 star. 2 stars! I walked in hungry and I walked out still hungry. Bruddah’s Bar & Grill is not yummylicious!

First visit to this new place. Very very disappointed! Waited 25 minutes to get our food! This place was empty as you can see in my pictures. Why was the cook on a break? Having a bad day? I know he wasn’t busy. So I’m wondering what took so long. Waitresses were nice though. Waited this long for Kalua, overly salty, Portuguese sausage, dry(Nothing close to G Bowl.). Learned a new lesson… Never go to a place extremely hungry cuz you’ll even eat the bad food all up. Now the cha sui was so fatty. I’m sure others may like that but not me. I’m sorry but this used to be my favorite and now I don’t think I’ll go back for awhile. When Earl owned this place the quality and taste of the food was so much better. Waitresses were kind enough to hear me complain and comped one of the meals. Thank you for that. I hope this new owner will sell this place to people that care about the quality and history this place carries. I miss the good old times and good old flavors. I cannot recommend this place to anyone anymore until the flavors change back.
