Even though I still refer to this place as Golden Eagle, it’s name changed to Tom’s Burger a few years ago. I’ve been coming to this place for 20 plus years now. I almost always get the hamburger special, the burgers are charbroiled with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and mayo. The fries are always made fresh to order and seasoned with seasoning salt. Fair new chicken teriyaki plate is really good however it is served ala carte so if you want fries or drink you have to order that separately. Drive thru it’s always somewhat of a long wait but I get in and out usually within 5 or 6 minutes. The building is probably the same as it was in the mid eighties however they keep the inside including the restrooms very clean the only thing about the bathrooms are the doors kind of a dick and they don’t like when you think they’re locked so someone can walk in on you if you’re not careful. Over the past 6 or 7 months this staff has become more friendly with their customers. They have for television in their dining room and different locations if there’s something you want to watch you ask and I will gladly change the channel for you. So wrapping up if you’re in the area looking for a reasonably priced meal this is a viable option.

No reviews of this place? I, I liked it. On my way to the BBQ place I learned from Unilocal, this place popped into view unexpectedly. What’s this huge thing? Looks like straight from a no name town lost somewhere in North Carolina, it exudes East Coast to me, especially the sign that says«Good Food Restaurant»(or did it say great food? I forget). I took the wrong turn to the BBQ place restaurant(one way street!). To get there I had to make a U-Turn or go around the block, with this traffic I skipped it. As I was deciding what to do I came right in front of the Golden Eagle. What the heck, I’ll grab dinner here. Chili burger: Good! I wasn’t expecting much especially for the price but the chili tasted fresh albeit without much ‘chili’ flavor. The burger patty is thicker than the average fast food place’s, and I say fast food because this is not hand made patty(But not bad still). Not fantastic but tasty is all I can say. The plain omelet: Not bad, especially for under $ 3. Comes with toast and hash browns. Flavorful enough egg thing, and lots of it. In short, this is a mega-sized mom and pop burger joint. Looks like it’s been there a while, looks worn but strangely the furniture have no holes or broken sections, nada, nothing. From the outside it looks like straight out of some wacky movie, like The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy(Not a bad thing at all, I love out of ordinary places). The prices? One of the lowest I’ve seen recently at mom and pop’s place, North Carolina prices, very cool. On the menu, items that caught my eyes were: Rib eye steak sandwich or dinner, chicken wings, beef dip sandwich, grits. This is interesting but the low prices amaze me(Are they edible? Judging from the food I got, they might be good. I’ll keep the beef dip in mind…, hope it’s not loaded with fat).
