I promised myself I would return here to try other stuff. So, I did. Ordered the yakitori first(I assumed it would take longer than the soup.) I got one each of the tsukune, enoki maki and uzura bacon. I then took a few steps behind me and ordered the satsuma ramen with a side of flavored egg. The yakitori stuff was delicious. The satsuma ramen was also good, but I think I’ll stick to the hakata. Will come back to try more stuff!

Located inside Tokyo and Main(formerly known as Marukai). My go-to place for my Yakitori fix. The best thing about this place is there’s NOWAIT! It taste just as good as in the restaurant and you can eat in peace without the constant screaming and yelling. Just head over to the counter, order and wait to be called… it’s that easy! :) My fave is the bento(soboro bowl) with the chicken meatball and chicken thigh plus a couple extra skewers or chicken skin and cartilage.

This place is awesome, its pretty much Shin Sen Gumi Yakitori with no line, no wait, no yelling, and fast service with almost happy hour prices. Of course the menu is nowhere near the full restaurants but if your just looking for a couple skewers of chicken skin, chicken meatballs, and chicken thigh without the one to two hour wait, this is the place. Located at the center of the Tokyo Central food court Shin Shin Sen Gumi 2GO is pretty much a small counter with 1 – 2 workers grilling up the addictive Yakitori. There are a couple of combos with the Soboro Bowl which is ground chicken and egg with ginger on top. The pricing of the skewers a la carte are similar to the prices at the full restaurant during happy hour. The quality of the food is exactly the same but instead of sitting in a restaurant you are sitting in the Tokyo Central food court. The only downside of eating at this location is that they charge you 50 cents for a dime size amount of the Yuzu which is given free at the full restaurant.

I’ve gotten the Ramen to go here and the Yakitori, The Ramen is pretty good. I didn’t have any complaints; maybe add more meat? The chicken yakinu… um yakitori? they run about 1.65 a stick, i think each stick is like missing one more piece of meat(looks kind of short but i could be wrong) either way its still great value for what you’re paying. It’s a bit too salty. YOUHAVETOGET CHICKENCARTILAGE CHICKENSKIN CHICKENGIZZARD CHICKENHEART YUMMY :) Talking to the lovely manager she said next time you can ask them to use less sauce, apparently they cater towards Americans taste buds.(isn’t that awesome service?) I’ve been to Japan everything runs a little sweeter compared to what is served here. It’s a bit more saltier(No surprise here) Would probably taste great with rice. This is the closest thing I can get how it was in Japan!

Very good food. I haven’t been since the market re-opened as a Tokyo Central yet.

I love Shin-sen-Gumi, especially their yakitori! Grilled to order freshness… *drolling* Their yakitori is one of the best in town for sure. Prices are reasonable and quality of the food is definitely great! I recommend nankotsu shio, zuri shio and Tsukune tare! Everything is good though. I like this 2Go location because you don’t have to deal with a long line(at least when I go) like the Honten on Western and since it’s located in Tokyo Central’s food court, I can do my grocery shopping while waiting for my food to be ready. Workers are nice and service is quick. I sometimes order a few skewers and eat with my ramen or udon from Shin-Sen-Gumi there at the food court but most of the times I order takeout to enjoy my food in the privacy of my own home:)

So I’ve had Shin-sen-gumi before, at the location in, I think, Huntington Beach. All I can remember is oodles and oodles of noodles, just endless piles of spaghetti-like waterfalls. This Shin-Sen-Gumi, a to-go version, is located in a food court inside what used to be a Marukai but is now a very bizarre Japanese grocery/department store called Tokyo Central that has, among other things, a wall of stuffed alpacas, a tree made of fruit gummies, and outrageously intricate figurines. The food court had all sorts of signs up bragging that Shin-sen-gumi’s ‘Satsuma Ramen’ had won some sort of ‘Best Ramen’ award at a festival, so I decided to try it. I have no idea how it’s possible that this ramen won an award. First of all, it has very few accoutrements. Fried onions, some pieces of average quality pork belly, and maybe green onions, — that’s it. Then, to compound that, there’s the thin broth, which seems to not be able to decide whether it is chicken broth, pork broth, or vegetable broth. Finally, there are the noodles, which are yellow and curly and exactly how they come in ten cent packets. For me, bland is worse than bad, because I may as well be eating air. I actually asked my friend, who was eating yakitori, if he would mind wafting a piece in front of my nose as I took a bite of ramen so maybe my ramen would taste like something. That sort of worked.

Great food and great service! I always love eating their cartilage and gizzard yakitori! I just wish they’d accept credit cards too. But besides that, this place is absolutely amazing.

I really like their Hakata ramen and pork belly. It’s one of my favorite place to eat. But it sucks they don’t accept card because I hardly ever carry around cash and they don’t have an ATM inside the market so I have to get cash back. I would give them a higher rating if they start accepting card…

This place is awesome! All of the various cooks working the charcoal grill seem to be equally talented and the rest of the staff is always quite nice on top of the great food. My familys favorite is the Tsukune(chicken meatballs 3 to a skewer) and it is usually fantastic, just make sure to ask them to pack some extra sauce if you get them to go. They last over a week in the fridge and easily reheat in the microwave to a nearly fresh tasting result. Currently, it is the only meat based protein our 4 year old son will eat, and I am so grateful for that. The price is $ 1.50 per skewer. I think that is a fair price but some may not. I have tried about two thirds of the menu and would have to say it was all quite tasty. Give them a try.

This is a good place if you are craving Japanese ramen and want to pick up fast. I didn’t know there were 3 parts within the market, so it took me some time to figure out where to order it from. They have separate cashier for yakitori, ramen and udon. I ordered spam and ramen combo and they were amazing. Their gyozas are tiny so not sure if it is worth of the money.

This location is one of four inside the marukai market food court. That being said this is a food court. you order at the counter amd they call your number when its ready. You then find your own seating. Ive never had to wait long to order and get my food. Since the menu is very similar to their full restaurant you can get most of the stuff they are known for. One of the things i like is its quiet here unlike the restaurant where you almost need earplugs. That plus the short wait and lots of available seating helps a lot. Only downside is cash only and nobody to serve you, but again you dont need to leave tip!

I’ve heard good reviews about this place, which is located in the Marukai Pacific Market in Gardena. After finally trying it today, I would say the ramen was«okay» and«average». Definitely not the exceptional types I recently had elsewhere, but still, not bad. I ordered the ramen and spam set which was okay and I liked the ume included in the musubis. Just a few gripes I feel rather compelled to mention. Wait time from when I arrived to when I received my food was 45mins. This place also only takes cash. Lastly, dishes were not cleared by employees so I watched customers eat their ramen on dining tables that had dirty dishes left by previous customers. Kinda gross. I kindly asked an employee to bus and clear a table of dirty dishes for me before I ate.

I went to the ShinSenGumi ramen but I wanted to get some udon for the daughter. Which she loves. The employees where friendly. I was looking to get the spicy beef udon but I know it would be to spicy for her so I ended up ordering the regular udon with shrimp on the side. It took awhile but it was good timing since I had to finish up my ramen bowl from across the way. Broth was tasty and yum. I wish I had more udon tho. Gave the whole thing to my daughter and she ate it all up. To me it seems like the ramen, udon and takiyaki all are together. Cause I saw one of the workers go to the ramen spot to pick up ramen. Lol But anyway it wasn’t busy at 12. So maybe it’s a good time to go at that time. JK sure certain days are different. This location Is located INSIDE the Marukai market. So you pretty much park in the private lot.

Came here today, and I was happily satisfied with what I ordered. The menu is pretty simple. You can order ramen if you like and they have combos if you’re not sure what exactly to pair up. It won’t necessarily break the bank unless you go crazy ordering like I did. I had the chicken meatball, pork, and the pork wrapped asparagus. I like the fact that if you need anything else like a unique Japanese beverage you can buy one in the market. Cheers Shin Sen Gumi by taking one of my favorite places to sit down and eat into a take it home after I get out of work dinner spot.

With four Shinsengumi locations in Gardena alone, it can get pretty confusing! This specific Shinsengumi(To Go) is located inside of Marukai Pacific Market in Pacific Square. There are three separate counters – one for Yakitori, one for Ramen, and one for Udon. I usually frequent the Yakitori and Ramen sections! YAKITORI: Each skewer has between 3 – 4 bite-size pieces of meat, egg, asparagus, etc. These range in price from $ 1.38−2.00. It’s definitely easy to get carried away ordering all of the different yakitori! It can start adding up, but it’s worth it! You might have to wait a little while for these, but it’s usually not too bad… browse the market or bakery just a few steps away while you wait! — Chicken Thigh with Green Onion(Negima) — Meat is moist and tender! Since it’s the thigh, I thought the meat might be fatty, but it’s actually quite lean! — Chicken Meatball(Tsukune) — YUMMY, my favorite! Three delicious meatballs covered in a salty-sweet yakitori(tare) sauce… you really can’t eat just one! — Quail’s Egg wrapped with Bacon(Uzura Bacon) — A nice change of pace from just meat yakitori! Note: They often run out of this one! — Asparagus wrapped with Pork Belly(Aspara Maki) — I really like this yakitori! Four pieces of asparagus wrapped in a thin slice of pork belly. Don’t forget to ask for extra tare sauce to dip these in! It’s a little thinner than the sauce on the Chicken Meatballs, but it still coats the pork belly nicely! — Soboro Bowl — Ground chicken and egg with ginger on top of rice. This is not a yakitori, but they also sell these at the Yakitori counter. The chicken is flavored really well! You can also get this in the Yakitori Bento, which includes a couple of yakitori skewers! **Buy 10 Yakitori, get 1FREE! RAMEN: — Hakata Ramen — Pork flavored noodles with Chashu… always delicious! I like to add a Tamago(flavored egg) and corn, too! Order ramen from here instead of the Redondo Beach Blvd. location if you don’t mind taking it out or eating in the Marukai food court. It’s MUCH faster! **Find COUPONS in Motto LA, a free Japanese coupon magazine that can be found in various Japanese markets like Marukai and Nijiya. Good for *1 Free Ramen Topping or *1 Free Tempura Shrimp with your Udon! Gyoza — Pretty small, very garlic-y!

Cheap and Quick Lunch. Located inside the Marukai Market, Shin Sen Gumi 2Go has 3 separate units inside. One for Yakitori, One for Ramen and another One for Udon. I’ve tried the Yakitori and Ramen and they are both very good. You go to the counter and order what you want and they’ll give you a number. When your food is ready, just pick up your meal. Since they are inside the food court of Marukai, they have a communal dinning area. It’s very clean and someone is there to keep it that way. Here’s the rundown: Yakitori Bento«Chicken Meatballs & Chicken Yakitori w/Ground Pork, Egg and Pickles Ginger» That chicken meatball is the bomb! So flavorful and delicious. The chicken is no slouch, also good. The accompanying sides to this dish were also very good. It’s got egg so I’m a fan lol. Highly recommend getting this dish. Special Set Ramen«Your choice of ramen, I chose Hakata w/Gyoza and Chahan» The Hakata Ramen is very good. It comes with 3 slices of pork belly. The broth was very tasty and not salty at all. Delicious. The gyoza was on the small side, but you get 6 pieces and were just okay for me. The chahan(Fried Rice) was excellent. The egg on that fried rice was so delicious, It made that fried rice sing. Yum Yum Other things I would like to try next is the Spam Set(spam musubi with ramen) yummy! The first time I came, they ran out of this dish. lol Service is very friendly and they offer some advice if you are undecided. lol Pricing is super reasonable. You can eat here for a Lincoln($ 5) and be satisfied. Most items are price under $ 10. For a cheap and quick lunch, this is my spot. I’ll definitely be back.

I LOVEEE Shin Sen Gumi Ramen! I always go to the Rosemead location. When my coworker told me that there was a little to-go place in the food court of a supermarket I was like… what??? How can you get ramen in a food court?!? Lol. On a day we both remembered to bring cash, we ventured out to try this place. When we arrived, I saw that they had UDON!!! I LOVELOVEUDONNOODLESOUPS! I love all noodle soups but I really love Udon. What We Ordered: — Spicy Beef Udon — Beef Udon — Italiano Ramen(don’t remember the name but it was like a spaghetti version of ramen) The Spicy Beef Udon was SUPERDUPERGOOD! I ate the whole thing so fast! It really was super spicy. I ordered it at the highest level… which might have been 3? The only down side were the onions… there were so many damn onions in there! I picked them all out before I ate so it took awhile… The beef and onion ratio was even… don’t think that’s a good thing lol. My coworker also picked out his onions as well from his Beef Udon… it was just as much as mine. I would probably order something else instead of beef next time just to avoid the onions. My coworker isn’t Asian sooo… he picked the Italiano Ramen to share. –_– He liked it but, I thought it was weird… It had a tomato broth… it was like watered down marinara sauce lol. There was also cheese in it. It was just so… weird. Just stick with the basic Hakata Original Ramen! DONOTVENTUREOUT. Lol. I will be back to try the Hakata Ramen and the Yakitori! CASHONLY.

i LOVELOVELOVE this shinsengumi. i say it’s better than the actual restaurant on redondo beach blvd. this location also owns the shin-sen-gumi– yakitori and the shin-sen-gumi– tonsyo UDON. the reason why i love this location because it has one of my ALLTIME favorite ramen flavors here. i always get the spicy thai chili ramen($ 5.98) and i love it so much for the hot chili and butter flavor. you can really taste the thai chills and the buttery flavor. you’re seriously missing out if you’ve never had this! the broth is PERFECTLYAMAZING. not only is the broth perfect but i enjoy the thin noodles and the chashu that comes with it. it’s not the best chashu but it’s still pretty fatty! i like to add corn for 50 cents more. this shin-sen-gumi comes out with the most unique noodle flavors. they have creamy alfredo udon($ 4.58) and it tasted exactly like the pasta! this was only for their christmas special but it is still available NOW! make sure to try it out before it’s gone. i usually come on the days when kohki works. he is so friendly and he takes care of his customers well. i always see him smiling and making sure everyone is taken care of. this location is inside the marukai market and remember it is a CASHONLY place!
