Tile & Marble Galaxy

Miguel help us find the tile we loved and also helped us get more of the same time on a saturday when we were in a pinch to finish our remodel.

This is about their counter installation guy who has his shop behind Galaxy and works with them on contract. His name is Jose «Reyes» Espino.
When he installed the countertop in my kitchen, his crew did a sloppy job and left holes all over when sealing around the sink. I asked him to come back and fix it. When he eventually came, he was almost an hour too early, so I was not even home and had to rush back. When I arrived, he already had a nasty attitude before I even said hello.
He then said it was my contractor’s fault because the contractor’s worker pushed the countertop up and separated the silicon when he installed the faucet. Do you know how heavy a 9-​feet long slab of quartz is?! Nobody can lift this stone like that! Reyes then made a mess putting silicon all over my counter and sink because he was on the phone using only one hand to do the whole thing. When I asked him to clean the mess he created, Reyes said he was here «to put silicon, but not to clean.»
Reyes knew I couldn’t take the time to argue because once it’s dried, you’re screwed, so I politely asked him to let me use his acetone. After tantalizing me a bit, he pored it in my sink! I took some of that on a piece of paper-​towel and ran the water to wash off the sink (I hope it didn’t damage my sink or the drain). I then used that paper-​towel to remove the excess silicon he smeared everywhere, getting my hands soaked in acetone.
To make it even creepier, I noticed that he was taking my pictures while I was cleaning after the mess he created!
I’m still shaking from this horrible and creepy experience. I’m uncomfortable that he knows where I live. I don’t feel safe.

We got all of our tiles and materials at this place. The selection is great and the price is reasonable. Lopez was so helpful. He was knowledgeable and very patient with us. Availability was better than all the other places we went to. We plan to revisit this place for our kitchen and upstairs bathroom in the near future.

I went in to inquire about getting a solid stone top for a bar /​breakfast nook. I had dimensions, I had the old formica part that could be used as a pattern. I repeatedly asked the guy at the counter if he could give me a price on a big hunk of marble. He repeatedly said I should do it with marble tiles. I asked no less than three times. He said I should use tile each time. I wondered if this guy was slow or something. I walked out. A few days later an uncle that has a friend that works in marble and granite got my dimensions, and made me a part… so I know it is possible.
I don’t understand why someone would turn away a customer willing to spend money on a custom hunk of marble, and instead try to sell a box of tiles? Bizarre.

BUYER BEWARE. These people will not budge when it comes to refunds/​exchanges. For no other reason apparently than greed and because they can get away with it. We explained we were buying tile, trim & grout for our mountain home – 300 miles away. Very difficult to know the precise amount, as we certainly didn’t want to realize that we didn’t have quite enough once we were ther and had started the job. Yes, they post their policy clearly, it’s even on their invoice. Many businesses do this, but will make exceptions under reasonable circumstances. Our tile installer realized that the grout Galaxy recommended was too lite, but he had brought a darker color, so that’s what was used. We purchased 8 pieces of «pencil» liner @ $ 8.75 each; we had five to return [$ 35 total], but one was broken — I would have given them that one as it may have been just enough for someone else to use. The bag of grout was $ 16.99. Slightly more than 50 bucks total; not a big financial loss, but very definitely an irritation. What these gouging so-​called businessmen don’t realize is that while it can take a long time to develop a customer; it can take two minutes to loose one forever. There are many, many tile, marble, etc vendors in the L.A. area I will never do business with this company again. BUYER BEWARE.

Beware! This location has a huge selection to choose from. Unfortunately, their prices are very expensive and they are willing to rip you off in a heartbeat. I actually caught the salesperson trying to overprice me by speaking to his co-​worker in Spanish. Little did he know, I speak fluent Spanish. I’m sure it was very embarrassing for him as I replied back in Spanish and stormed out. If you do choose to buy your tile here, I strongly suggest you shop around and compare before you purchase. Very bad business ethic!

I agree with every other review. Excellent customer service. I worked with Hugo. The best. Patient, experienced, knowledgeable, and knew his store. Hugo never pushed, answered all my questions, never seemed in a hurry, followed up with return phone calls and made my kitchen remodel a little bit less stressful. I had been to several other tile stores and he was by far the easiest to work with. Bravo. Although I only worked with him, I overheard other employees on the phone and with customers in the store. All were patient and took their time explaining and answering questions. I highly recommend Tile and Marble Galaxy.

Best selection and customer service. Have been to many shops and this is by far the best. Prices are average to lower on all the tile and stone. They sell hardwood as well.

Best customer service! They made us feel valued and really took their time to work with us. But note they are very clear about their no return or exchange policy so don’t get upset if you order too much or order the wrong thing. We had Miguel help us through our entire tile process for our renovated bathroom. He was extremely patient and helpful. My husband and I were at our wits end. We had been to a dozen (yes a dozen) tile companies from Anaheim to Torrance to Santa Monica looking for colored ceramic and porcelain tile, not this boring beige, brown, subway, glass tile, etc tile. No one carries blue or green anymore until we found Tile and Marble Galaxy. They have two warehouses at this location, with lots to choose from. We found both green and blue tiles, plus more. It actually became hard to pick on just one. Miguel was extremely patient as we made him show us various combinations of tile and granite to try and coordinate everything. We had to special order our selection, but it only took 3 business days. Miguel made sure it was in stock before we completed the transaction. My only disappointment Was when he called to check the inventory for our vanity top he was told no problem. Then 3 days later after we paid for it, was told it was no longer available. Ok, I’ll give them the benefit of doubt that the manufacturer on the other end miss informed Miguel. Miguel helped us two days later order additional tile because we miscalculated. Not a problem. We were credited our granite and sink because the manufacture made a mistake. We received our additional tile with no problems in 3 more days.
Now be prepared… we special ordered deco wall tiles from the same manufacturer and they unfortunately were defective. Tile and Marble gladly took them back but would only give us store credit. Ok, I took half star away because in my mind that’s not my fault the tile is defective. I couldn’t use it, so I used our left over wall tile. I would have preferred the deco tile but I couldn’t wait another 3 days in the hopes it would work. My tile installer would have to make a third trip to my house. Not happening.
They lost another half star because they didn’t have but one manufacturer for the grout, and I didn’t like their grout selection for my tile? All in all I highly recommend checking this place out, especially if you are looking for, «the hard to find» color, more traditional, discontinued deals, …they are a one stop shop. Note: they do carry the modern tiles, stones, etc too.

Out of the 5 tile places I’ve been to recently, Galaxy has the biggest selection and best display hands down. Ask for Hugo. He was patient and showed us dozens of tiles to match what we already had. My one note for improvement — There were two very similar tiles with different price points, but he didn’t tell us about the less expensive one until he found out that they were out of the first one.

I was recommended to this place by a friend who does contracting. They have a HUGE selection of different tiles with great prices and a friendly staff. It seems like they have 2 buildings, one in the front on the left right when you turn down the road and one at the end of road. I went to the one at the end of the road. I worked with Jose the Manager and he was really knowledgeable and nice. We got our tiles ordered, delivered and installed in about 2 weeks. We love how it turned out.

great selection, awesome prices (comparatively of course), and decent service.
i shopped around a lot and could not find better deals nor selection. i’ve bought slate, travertine, and even glass tile from here.
they get pretty busy on weekends and sometimes it’s hard to get service. but be patient and you’ll be rewarded.
there was one guy in particular (younger hispanic man) that was particularly helpful on a number of visits, but unfortunately i don’t remember his name.
the owner was quite helpful also in resolving a special order delay (manufacturer’s fault)
the star deduction was only for the lack of staff when it gets busy.

For a very wide range of tile, marble and granite, this place is pretty good. The people in the building on the left side as you drive in are a little impatient and surly, but the guys in the unit at the end of the drive on the right are top notch. All of the sales guys are very knowledgable and know their stock inside and out. We ended up getting two different types of marble for two bathroom makeovers and were very pleased. The installer said some of the pieces were a little bit different size and thickness, so he had to adjust with the setting material. Most of the cheaper tiles come from China, which is to be expected. All in all, we were very pleased with the first purchase there and that’s why we went back to them for the second bathroom. They also have some really high end stuff as well.

I was remodeling my bathroom and my handyman recommended I go here for my tile. They have tons of different tiles to choose from. They are located on a cul de sac and have two locations, the other is directly across the street. The customer service from the larger facility was not that good, but they had a ton of tile to choose from. I ended up purchasing my tile from the smaller place. Here the customer service was excellent! I made several visits before I made a final decision on my tile. Each and every time someone was there to answer every question. I was the typical indecisive woman and they remained patient and helpful.
This place is great. The special order tile arrives in less than a week (unlike Home Expo which told me 4 – 5 weeks!!). They quote you a price for less than the marked price. They even threw in some grout and sealer! The selection is amazing. They even sell toilets!
I HIGHLY recommend this place. Ask for Salvador, he is AWESOME! I’m giving this place five stars for the money I saved on my tile, for the speed of special orders and because Salvador put up with all my pain in the ass questions!
