Dr. Timothy O’Connell. I recently moved to Gardena and changed my primary care physician to Dr. O’Connell based on proximity and the fact that he was the only local doctor in a health care medial group, in my insurance network, and without negative Unilocal reviews. Scratch that, he didn’t have any reviews, negative or positive. So I go to Dr. O’Connell unscheduled and ask if they can fit me in to be seen. They fit me in to be seen and I’m most appreciative. Upon seeing Dr. O’Connell and expressing my concerns, he provides a common viral explanation of my symptoms and medication as treatment for such. However, I request further testing to insure proper diagnoses to avoid having to come back should his opinion not outweigh actually lab results. His reply…“testing would be a waste of our medical resources. I’m just telling you the truth” I told him, «I however, would just feel more comfortable knowing testing was done while I’m here so I’m not risking my health and coming back again later». His reply, «You know it’s people like you that waste medical resources and cost insurance dollars with unnecessary testing.» The remainder of my visit ends up with him being completely rude in response to additional labs I requested which included a check of my low thyroid levels, high cholesterol, and high glucose levels. In response, I finally voice my irritation in NORMAL volume, how I find it very AWKWARD I’m struggling to get medical assistance and labs completed for things I shouldn’t have to ask for in the first place. Rather, things he should be suggesting based on my prior medical history. After telling him this, he says…“You know I have to say, I’m really uncomfortable with you too and you make me feel awkward. I think we’ll have to reassess the probability of our future appointments together.“ A week later after I’ve complained to his corporate office, I’m calling his office for test results. He provides them on speakerphone and I hear a woman standing next to him while he speaks to me in an artificially friendly tone. He then wishes me a good day at the end, ANDTHINKSHE’S HUNGUPONME! …HEHADN’T! I QUIETLYLISTENASFORTHELAST30SECONDSOFTHECALL, THEWOMANNEXTTOHIMSAYS, «ISTHATTHENUTYOUWERETALKINGABOUT?» HESAYS, «THAT’S THE F@CKINNUT». Trust me, I wish I was«nuts enough» to even make this whole story up… unfortunately, I’m not that good of a writer. Do not go here, and until Dr. O’Connell and that staff member are addressed properly(removed) by Healthcare Partners, stay far away from this medical group and any other of it’s locations if you can help it. Don’t believe me? Just Unilocal the reviews of it’s other locations too.

This place felt like an overcrowded hospital than a doctor’s office. They take in too many patients. I waited on the cold table in the gown they gave me for over 20 minutes. They told me that they would come back, but they didn’t. It was a very long appointment. I have never went to a doctor’s office that took a hour and a half to finish. If you do have the option to pick a doctor, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
