If you are anywhere near Gardiner, Maine you must stay at the Stone Turret. The owner, Sean, pays attention to every detail to make your visit wonderful. Each day a home made breakfast is provided using fresh, organic ingredients. The blueberry muffins are outstanding with a great cup of coffee too. He has restored an old church to be an energy efficient delight with comfortable beds to guarantee a great nights sleep. Definitely worth going out of your way to visit.

This is a great bed and breakfast, just opened a few months ago in a renovated church. Rooms are well-appointed, unique(some have the original stained glass windows!), clean and quiet. The innkeeper was just terrific — attentive to what we needed but not intrusive. Knew that balance between being gracious and conversational yet giving us our privacy. Great breakfast! And, he paid attention to what we ate and didn’t eat on the first day to make the second breakfast even better. This is a great place to stay! It’s within walking distance to the main street downtown(Water Street), which has lots of great shopping and places to eat. Gardiner is a great little city to visit, and is near Augusta and other lovely Maine towns and cities.
